For Turtlerial!

This was a lot of fun. I got frustrated because my abilities don’t always fire, but I’m glad I stuck with it because the final boss fights were challenging and fun!

More feedback on why I can’t shoot or that I’m firing would be nice. I did eventually notice that fih’s face changed during some of the slower moves.

Thank you for your review, and I'm very glad you finished the game.
Regarding the method of working abilities,Each ability has a timer after use, as you can see. Also, abilities consume stamina, which has a white bar directly below the fih , this bar disappears when stamina is full.

What a wonderful game! I really enjoyed its concept, and it's incredibly creative right from the menu, haha. The idea of preventing the player from simply starting the game normally because they're the boss was brilliant.

The gameplay is simple and easy to understand, which makes the game very intuitive. Players can quickly grasp both the objective and how to achieve it. That's a great strength!

The ocean setting feels a bit dark and mysterious, which contrasts with the game's humor, at least from my perspective. Of course, this isn't a criticism at all—just an observation. The art style is simple and effective, and I'd say it gives your game a lot of personality. Because of that, it could be interesting to have some scenery above the sea as part of the background. Things like tropical islands, a beach, or even just the sky with a parallax effect could work really well.

Another thing I'd like to mention is the controls. I personally didn't have any issues with them, but it might be a good idea to offer a secondary option for selecting the fish's attacks, such as using number keys (0, 1, 2, etc.). The reason is that some players may have a broken mouse wheel, which could make the game more difficult to play.

The effects were subtle, but they fit the game very well and made the actions feel satisfying—especially the red trail the boss leaves behind. It evokes a sense of danger while also resembling blood in the water, a clear sign that this is a dangerous enemy (aka the boss, haha).

Congratulations on the game—it was a lot of fun to play. I wish you the best of luck in the jam!

This game is awesome!!! The sound and music is awesome, the designs and effects are awesome, the funny diolauge is awesome, and you are awesome!!!

However there are a few issues I encountered, simple though, sometimes the music will just stop, like mid combat, for a good 2-3 minutes. Also the day counter text starts overlaping itself later on the game, and the ending seemed kinda rushed XD (but my game ending was lowkey rushed too so its fine).

Something I thought would be cool is if the upgrades actualy changed how the shark looked, and maybe some health indicators or damage indicators for the players and you.

Overall: 9.5/10 this game is so peak!!

Very nice game!
The theme has been followed in a very good way, the art is minimal but very fitting, and the SFX are there and help to build a cohesive experience. My only criticism is the lack of clarity, for instance, I had a bit of difficulty trying to kill the first player on top of the boat during day 0.
Aside from this small critique, this is a very solid entry. Good job! 👍👍

Hi, I'm Acuristic, and here's some feedback:

Things I Liked:

  • Humor: I like the fact that you used the name "Fih" instead of "Fish" and the turtle (turtlerial) also asks you to shut up and stop asking stupid questions. It makes me feel more engaged in the game. Good Job!
  • Sound Design: Almost everything you do has an audio feedback, you nailed the sound design, adding "click" sound Fx for when you scroll/switch attacks would be a nice, along other such small addition.
  • Boss Concept: I really like the boss of the game, it's a unique concept of a huge fish with a cat's face attached
  • Art: The art is quite simple and minimalist, and perfectly  suits the sounds in the game. But the ocean (BG) lacks depth, one way to fix this is to add a subtly light to the player, and optionally to the humans also, and a global light at the top edge of of the camera. This will make the ocean's deeper areas (areas which are further from the light source) get darker and the shallow areas (areas which are closer to the light) lighter. You can also add a sky and a beach Bg in the upper area of the map instead of just the ocean everywhere.
  • Polish: The game is surprisingly polished with the dash fx, the human damage particles and the shock particles. This makes the game feel "completed" instead of unfinished and prototype-ish.

Things that can be Improved:

  • Start Sequence: The actual start button appears after quite a few clicks on the fake start button, and it also gets repetitive after a while so, you can try reducing the no. of clicks it takes for the actual start button to appear. Same with the day counter, it is quite slow you can fix this by decreasing the time it takes for the counter to disappear.
  • Attack: There are 2 systems limiting the attack, the stamina system and the attack cooldown it seems a bit too strict, I recommend to keep one and remove the other, if you decide to keep both then, you should also reduce the cooldown on the first 2 attacks. The reach/range of the attack is too little to, you can fix this my giving a bit more acceleration to the player in the direction of the attack as the existing boost is too little and requires the player to be really close to the humans to attack.
  • Boss Fight: Although the game is polished and is fun, the boss fight itself felt a bit chaotic, this is probably due to the slow speed of the player and the small reach/range of the player's attacks and the fact that there are multiple targets to attack.
  • Borders: The humans can go through the borders, but the player cannot, this means I have to wait for them to shoot the line thingy and then move away, pulling them back into the border, it breaks the immersion and also reduces the quality of the game.

Great submission! It's a good game and fits well with the theme. I have no complains honestly. Congrats!

Super cool idea, and very polished in all areas. Honestly has incredible potential to be a full release!

Hilarious. it's a fun premise, fun puns, from the name itself to the turtle.

My only suggestion is to check the control, the idea to use just the mouse is smart and well implemented, but sometimes even if i click i cant attack (and the attack is ready available).

Still, great funny game.

Thank you for your review. Regarding the issue you mentioned, it's not actually a problem; there's a white stamina strip, and each stroke requires a specific amount of stamina.

Very interesting gameplay, the water feels really good, and the player AI genuinely feels like real online players. Great work!

A very cool and challenging game. It had nice humor, cool attack animations and actual synergy between the opposing players.

Cool game, I was impressed by the enemy's AI, and I liked how unique the intro felt. Very unexpected/engaging. Overall well done, quite a cohesive game, I'd say if anything to improve I'd be looking at polishing up the sprites, but overall good job!
