As someone who owns a couple left socks and a garden gnome, but a BAD memory, needless to say I was amused by this game ! How did I end up here again...?

Very unique and charming game!
Love the hand-drawn graphics and silly story. All the strange descriptions the socks had helped me remember and match them more easily.
The cat was a bit relentless. Wish it was easier to shake it and make it go back into partol mode
Sometimes the game would lock up then I press the reset button 🔁 and would have to reload the page.
Dude, its like the game Concentration only with socks. The game plays extremely well! Music was excellent, sound effects were great.
I looked in the credits and you hang in the same places I do!
Thanks for a great game and a fun play!
A great fun game. I see some of posts below complain about the cat coming from the side of the screen, but that feels part of the game play to me - keeping an eye on the cat's position whilst attempting to run back to a a matchign sock, even if the cat is the other side of the screen.
Such a fun concept, loved the twist on both Memory and the connections theme here! The kitty added a great bit of extra challenge that made the whole experience more chaotic and enjoyable. I think the cat seeking the shortest path and wrapping around the screen may be a little punishing sometimes, like others have said, but in general I think this was a solid and fun entry. Thanks for trying out Nonno!
I love the visuals and the fresh twist on the memory game mechanics. I had similar problems to the other commenters with the cat appearing directly on me while I was at the edge of the screen. But overall nice work!
The aesthetic and delivery is very cute and cozy. The achievement system made me play until I unlocked all. Well played :D
The idea is really great, and the cat meowing is very cute. The controls take a bit of getting used to, in this kind of game I’m usually used to WASD, not WAD. Overall, it was a lot of fun, and I can easily imagine this game being a good pastime for casual players, maybe even as a mobile game for when you're on the go in the bus, train, or car (but only as a passenger, cough cough).
It’s a great achievement and has lovely graphics.
The concept is so cute. The cat is too fast for my directionally challenged brain though haha. Still pretty fun though!
Interesting take on a classic. The controls took a little to get used to but it does add to the challenge. I was worried about the cat appearing right in front of me when I was near the edge of the screen. Perhaps a small delay with a warning before the cat appears can help prevent frustrating situations. It's still a very fun game. Good job!
I thought about maybe leaving cat food for the cat to keep it occupied, but I want to keep the game simple. Also, that might be beyond the scope for this jam.
The only things I’m currently planning to change after the jam are improving the visual feedback for whether the cat is in the roam or chase state, and possibly tweaking the cat’s chase speed a bit
Really liked the game, I did have the tendency to think I was moving backwards because of the pointed hat. :)
When I started the game, I started in the Mii Plaza. lol (I like the music, its relaxing and quirky at the same time~ definitely has Bob's sock vibes).
Pretty simple game, that offers a nice little amount of challenges through achievements. This is a unique memory matching type game. if you are someone that likes memory matching games, this is definitely worth playing. This has a solid execution. I really like (though it is irritating) that the cat pushes the socks around, this keeps you on your toes (lol) causing you to rememorize something which had been moved or force you to rediscovery its new placement because you hadn't noticed it being displaced from where you thought to remember where it was going to be).
There are things you could add if you wanted to be extra for visual feedback, like pulsing the scale of the socks that you have under your selection but the red circle does this job. Or even when the cat meows and starts chasing you, just to show it is chasing versus wandering, you could add a trail effect to it. Just small visual cues could spice it up some more and only because the meow signifies the chase effect, you don't know how long it lasts until the cats just starts wandering around again (which is fine).
The description of the socks was very entertaining... I ended up being like... freakin' Bob.... lol
I played through each difficulty and unlocked 4 of the 10 achievements. So there is a lot of replay value if you are a completionist. Solid game, doesn't do anything complicated and has its own balance through its mechanic. Its theme is solid. Has an entertaining story where my imagination says, hey you can build other games from this set up. Like... I would like to know more and see this gnome kingdom... XD
Maybe consider starting the cat's spawn position outside of a padded range of the player's position because the cat can spawn in front of the player and cause a game over in the first few seconds if you don't move right away and or if you happen to be reading the prompt. But since there is no huge consequence for defeat, this isn't a huge issue~ just a possible scenario that others may encounter, which did happen to me. I died right away and kept resetting only to realize the cat was just in front of me and hit me when the game started. But it happened 3 times in a row when i was restarting the level with my first play through of the easy difficulty.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. I really like the pulsing idea, maybe the cat could have it too when it is in the chase state. I am glad you find the sock description funny, I put quite a bit of thought into those.
And sorry about the cat spawning issue. I thought I had already made the cat spawn farther away from the player, but that change was added on the final day of the jam. I will look into it.
Thanks for playing, your feedback has been very helpful.
"How'd you get footage of my laundry pile?!" :P
A pretty nifty change of formula to the regular memory card flipping matching game :D
Fun to play and read the sock descriptions, and also petting the cat and gnome.
Quite enjoyable, has a good aesthetic, nice job!
i am not very good at games so i found the controls hard lol but it was so fun!!! such a cute and well executed idea :) very well done!!
