Hello, thank you for participating in the Writing Jam #14! Please email customers@onepagerules.com, to claim your participation minis!
Hey, I'm going to narrate some of the entries from this jam and put them on YouTube, would it be alright if I did yours? I'd credit you of course.
Sure. I am considering rewriting without the word restriction. If that is of interest
Thank you! I'm looking to narrate the stories from this jam so people can get a different angle on the entries but in the future I might narrate more stories. Do let me know when you've completed your rewrite either here or on discord, I'm Maybemax on the opr server :)
The switch-up at the end is jarring, but works in its way. I'm curious why the sword has itself just in the pit instead of leading a warband elsewhere--does the sword only wish to eat, and not care about anything else?
Classic David vs Goliath tale. Reminded me a bit of Riders of the Dead by Dan Abnett (Old school Warhammer Fantasy). Solid action, but I agree t that maybe Jonathan's backstory could have been expanded a tad more.
This has legs, that's for sure. It kind of feels like Jonathan's backstory needed a little more, and to understand the changes at the very end, but decent take on a "David and Goliath" situation.
The build up is very interesting. The environnement is missing some small details here and there to clearly statuate were and why this is happening but overall nice to read
Great setup and great payoff! It did feel as though the theme was a little forced in. I do like how "take it all" refers back to the description in the beginning, well done.
I really enjoyed this, the second half more than the first. A couple of little issues - a sentence missing a word in the middle of the story and it took too long to establish Jonathan as being in the cage. Overall, really enjoyable!
Thank you. 1000 words is hard.
It really is, I had a hard time fitting my piece into one page of the template, wound up cutting a character and B plot from mine. Good to work within constraints though, this is my first writing jam and I'm digging it quite a bit.
