loving this fresh take on pacman. at first glance i thought it was a snake clone. then I saw that the grid is the dots. love the sound design!

really enjoyed your music,  keep up the great work!

Pretty impressive for four days. The music/sound design is obviously the main attraction, and is really good. I do feel like it's hard to see the Pac-Man inspiration here, though. I think simply having actual mazes in the levels would've gone a long way toward both making it feel more Pac-Man-like and making the gameplay more interesting.

Regardless, I enjoyed the entry. Well done!

Thank you, again this is the first track I've ever composed, so I'm really happy that it resonates! 😊 The idea was to let the enemies generate the maze dynamically (with their bodies). But I agree that this didn't work out as intended, it doesn't feel very maze like. Maybe modifying the grid permanently when the ghosts move over tiles would have been better, or, as you say, just simply pre-generating a maze.

Great job! I liked how the music and level grew in intensity as the player collected more squares.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for noticing! Increasing the visual and audio intensity was added pretty close to the end of the jam - first jam where I had enough time to do a little polishing like that. 🙌

What a cool and unique way to handle the theme. I really enjoyed listening to the music while moving around the grid

Thanks Henry! Glad you liked the music, it's the first track I've ever made, was really hoping it would not become too repetitive / dull 🤞

Fun and polished but a bit of a stretch to call it a Pac-Man like.

Developer(+1)

One could say I took some creative liberty interpreting the theme 😊

Fun game, nicely presented with great audio. I'm not a natural for rhythm games, but still managed to get the hang of it :-) As per kemdev17's comment below, the snake enemy makes it feel closer to other games than PacMan.

Thanks, it's the first track I've ever created, so it means a lot 🙏 Nice that you found your groove! 😊

More like snake games

Fair, I can see it looking a little bit like reverse snake 🔄🐍😅
