Just played Grimward? Tell me what confused you, what you enjoyed, what felt frustrating, and what you would change.

Pretty stylish, but for me it runs at an absolute slideshow level frame rate about 1 per second), which makes parrying impossible.

Thanks for letting me know! That's, honestly, my biggest concern at the moment, as I've noticed it happening sometimes on my laptop as well. I'll check to see what kind of optimizations can I make, especially with the upcoming update that adds even more features. I'll keep you posted!

Oh, and it would really help to know some details about your system, so I know what to target. Would you mind sharing your browser and roughly what device you're running it on?

Using Firefox on a Ryzen 7 5800X with 32GB RAM and a 3070Ti. (Would like to upgrade my graphics, but AI ruined the prices.) Might be a browser issue rather than purely a performance one.

That machine should be absolutely crushing Grimward. I've made some performance improvements, but after checking the game in Firefox on my machine, I feel a very clear difference in performance: Firefox performs noticeably worse than Chrome. I'll spend some time in Firefox and see what can be improved, as that will likely make the game feel better in Chrome as well.

This was very useful feedback! I really appreciate it and I'll do my best to fix it.

  1. Very nice game, loving the way its going!
  2. Works fine on edge
  3. i feel like there is a lot of different inputs which could just overlap instead of changing the keybind. EX: pressing enter to collect, is kind of unnecessary since there is no reason to attacks if there is no enemies. The attack button could pick also interact if there is no enemies.
  4. I definitely feel the "fighting game" vibe like street fighter X bloodborne, but since we cant move it feels very static. having the ability to move and jump would make this much more dynamic

Hope this is useful, i will definitely return later to play again!

Great feedback! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a message! It's awesome to hear you're planning to return to it later!

Yeah, fighting definitely feels a bit static and, it's likely going to be challenging to change that while still keep the game minimal and browser friendly.

Meanwhile, the game evolved quite a bit on the official website. It now features advanced crafting and online features like a live marketplace where players could actually collaborate to reach high-value items. I'm planning to release that version on Itch.io as well, but I have to see how the online part fits the platform. I have a feeling that, for the online version, it's likely best to be released as a separate game, so feel free to follow me to get to play notified, if you're interested. It's even more fun to play with other people :)

I couldn't find any links to official websites, but i'll gladly follow your itch and see where this game winds up!
