holy cute crabbos :O this game felt really nice with how well the art all went together for the island and the area felt very intentional to explore! i somehow missed out on the glider mechanic until the end which made that one platforming puzzle alot easier c: really awesome work!
This is awesome, thank you so much for playing! Really happy that you had a good time on the island :) Also, great screenshot! It looks like you still have to find the last 2 coconuts (there is 30 in total), i think you missed the cave, it is on the north beach of the island ;) (the palm trees on that beach can actually be seen from the point where you pick up the coconut at the beach with Señora Vela, with the poles sticking out of the water)
ouuuuu i did miss that darn i thought for sure i got everything! ty for the hint c;
Great art direction. I really like the water buoyancy physics.
Shame it’s unfinished, but everything that’s there feels pretty good to play. Player controller feels responsive for a 3D platformer. If anything I need a mouse sensitivity settings because it’s way too sensitive right now for my mouse and the camera bouncing too much when I jump gives me a headache.
I just jump around the island collecting the coconuts and the one sandwich because it’s very clearly marked differently. It’s implied to have some story significance but no one on the island seem to give out any quest or anything (most likely an unimplemented feature).
I really like the dance song. It’s really energizing for sure.
Awesome, thank you for playing and your valuable feedback! Yeah i put too much time in the level and ui design, which left me with too little time to do the logic and coding, i mean, the framework is there (the dialogue system), it just needs more love and attention which i will give in a post jam version :) The dance song is there to focus on Luis and Carmen, in a future version the player will be able to dance along with them. I’ll also look into the camera bouncing issue (has been reported before). The mouse sensitivity can be adjusted in the main menu -> settings, it’s a bit awkward (needs some love too) but if you select that button (Camera speed) you can change the value with arrow left/ a / left stick left and arrow right / d / left stick right.
Ah right. I guess I didn’t notice if there was a way to open the settings menu in-game.
If there’s a pretty niche feedback I can add, is that if you’re planning to continue publishing web games on itch, you may want to consider not binding any function of the game to the ESC key. Because if the players elect to play your game in full-screen on web, ESC will turn of the full screen mode before it does any function in the game. Just a very minor itch gotcha thing, but could probably help with player immersion.
Thank you again, i’ll use the “p” key instead for webgl builds then :) it’s funny why i didn't notice that before, i even have my own website with my webgl games and it happens there too!
The whole experience of the game is awesome, from the start menu to the characters and audio—everything is great. I'm really amazed that all of this was done in such a short period of time.
Thank you so much for playing! Yeah i’ve used an asset pack, did some modeling myself and re-moddeling also, and the rest is mostly level design, which luckily succeeded very nice, also this is not my first time building a platformer ;) (though it is one of the first times i publish one haha) However, i put a little too much time in the level and ui design and had ample time to do the logic and coding, which is a pity, but i will continue to work on this project post jam and give it all the love and attention it needs!
Neat game! The camera motion made me a bit sick. I saw there was a setting for that in the menu but I could not change it.
Thank you for playing! Camera sensitivity can be adjusted with left arrow/ a / left stick left and right arrow / d / left stick right when the button is selected. I am working on a new version where the visual arrows are clickable, it’s only logical but i forgot to include it… still i hope you had a good experience on the island!
Ambitious and impressive. Character controller feels tight and responsive, and artwise the bright colorful dress of the islanders contrasts nicely with the sand and blue water. Cute and charming all around, the gameplay matches the vibe without introducing any punishing elements. Seems like the kind of project that is bound to be brought to a satisfying conclusion by the developer because the foundation is so strong. Well done!
Thank you so much for playing, reading your words makes me feel real happy and flames the passion and love i will put in this project to develop it in the fully worked-out 3d adventure platformer it wants to be. It makes it extra special because the name NoellA is a name blend of the names of my two daughters, couldn’t be more proud with your comment, thank you!
It comes through. I could definitely recognize the passion behind your efforts here.
It looks sooo nice, well done!!! With further development after the jam, it will look even better!!
Wow awesome, thank you for playing! I do plan to make this into a fully worked-out 3d adventure platformer, now thanks to comments like yours even with more love and passion :)
Very impressive game for being made in 2 weeks. The audio was great, the small details like jumping on the beds, etc. All wonderful.
The only issue I ran into was the typical Unity mess when you make the game full screen and everything starts lagging. That made it tough to read things.
But yeah, this was a fun little game.
Thank you so much for playing, so happy you had a good time on the island and that you discovered the bed bouncing :D Too bad full screen did not work out for you, for me it works like intended and does not have any lag (Safari browser on Mac), but i’m glad it did not fully ruin your experience :)
Yoo I had soo much fun! It was like little vacation on an island haha great job!
Awesome man, thank you for playing! So happy that you had a good time on the island :)
what a game !! i had some issues with the controls but still such a huge work, really loved it!
Awesome, thank you for playing! If you could be so kind, could you please tell me which issues you had with the controls? Was it with the flying, swimming or normal controls or just the controls in general?
umm when i get near an npc and tap rmc to interact sometimes it doesn't interact until i step back then come forward .. but this rarely happen so it's not a big deal the game is still fantastic !!
Ok thanks for your feedback, will take a look at it! :)
Its a very immersive game with awesome art, really impressive for 2 weeks!
Thank you so much! half of it is an asset pack tho, i mean i made some alterations, but my main focus was level building and design, which took way to long, hence why the game lacks the actual gameplay, the ingredient collection for Gran’s recipe and a general win condition. Planning to work on this post jam tho :)
Great work! I had fun running around and exploring, definitely a lot of scope to add more content after the jam. Very impressive. :) Also, swimming animation was cool. I've not seen many games have that.
Awesome! So glad you had a fun time playing the game :)
Cool game bro, had fun exploring, interacting NPCs and collecting coconuts and the Sandwich!
good audio, good polish as well 10/10
Thank you so much, really happy you like it! :)
I really enjoy playing it. Cool little game.
Thank you so much for playing, really happy that you like it :)
I really enjoyed the gliding moment. I could see I was supposed to do something and the person right there was the perfect thing to clue me in. I really like the art direction and nice solution for seeing the player through the walls of the buildings. cool effect and it works well.
Nice swimming animations and good feel on the animations in general as well as the player character movement! This was my very first time doing 3D character modeling, rigging, and animating for my game this jam so I have renewed respect for the work it takes!
Ok wow thank you, it feels so good when an intended level design choice gets noticed, Marco is the perfect npc in the perfect spot :D You are right that the solution for seeing the player through the walls of the houses is nice but i’m already working on a post jam version where the camera will get closer to the player (same as in the cave) whenever the player walks into a house, which should make an in-house experience even better :) Congratz on the 3d work for your game, keep it up!
cool game i collected everything the game has to offer
Thank you for playing, so glad you like the game!
This is my fav game so far, the amount of dedication and polish is insane. Amazing job!
Awesome thank you, will continue to work on this when the jam is done :)
I like the idea of running around to pick up stuff. I like exploration games like this but I got frustrated when there was a couple thing I couldn't get to and it wasn't clear if I needed an upgrade of some kind to get there, if I was missing something, or it was just a bug. The art is nice and I like the music. I know you over scoped and its an unfinished but I hope you continue to work on it because it has some good protentional
Thank you so much for playing, yes the game is very much unfinished but you should be able to get everything that matters, there are 30 coconuts and 1 sandwich. To reach all coconuts you need to learn how to glide :) if it felt like you couldn’t get to some things then i apologise for my mistake for not making it more clear. And also yes, i will continue to work on this project with much love :)
