Very nice game. Managed to keep me engaged till the end, even though some parts were a bit obscure and I had to THINK about it haha.
The pondering mechanics were innovative, but there was part of the game where I didn't ponder the objects first before the new options are presented, which makes it so that at some parts there were a lot of options in the pondering, which makes deciphering the correct option difficult. Also it's a bit weird to bind with the ALT key which makes it awkward to access.
The first time I play it on browser not sure why but there wasn't any sound at all, so I had to reload it. The music is nice, but the game lacks satisfying sound effects.
The art is really cool. And a great ending and great ending art too. I always seem to omit a proper endings in my jam games because of time limitation so it's awesome to see it in another game.
Would have loved some more polish here and there but it's great fun overall.
Thank you so much for your constructive feedback!! I agree that sometimes the options may be a bit overwhelming (and believe me I tried to simplify a lot of the puzzles alr after feedback) and I’m still trying to consider what is the best way to present the answer to the player in a still challenging format. Regarding the sound effects, I actually had some ideas of sound effects in my head but I don’t know where to find them haha. Thank you for your feedback and I will take them to heart in my future projects!!
Haha I get the sounds part. I always leave it as one of the last parts to do in my games too, but it's such a crucial thing for game feel and polish. It's an underrated part of game dev that's not noticed until it's missing.
For free sounds, you can try checking out freesound.org, opengameart.org, or soniss.com. The catch is that it might be unorganized and you have to wade through a lot of it yourself to try and find a good sound for each part of the game.
If you have the means, then you can try checking out ovanisound.com, which I used in my own entry. Might seem expensive on their website, but I have only bought stuffs there when they go on sale from HumbleBundle or on their website, which is usually like $20 for a lot of packs. So it's good enough of a value proposition for me to pay.
Hope it helps!
Should not be playing this during the heatwave! Great concept and well executed. Nice and challenging. Great work!
The heat wave is my inspiration!! Thank you for playing!!
I love this game!! The atmosphere is unreal and the gameplay is really fun and challenging. The heat meter, object pondering, and word organization are all awesome.
Thank you so much for the kind comment ❤️
I love the vibe! Very challenging, got me sweating for reals. But overall i enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for playing our game 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
yo I suck at puzzle games like these, I couldn't get past the lamps at the beginning... That's my fault though, I love the presentation!
Thank you for playing! Sometimes maybe you just observe the environment a bit more to solve the puzzle 😀
Really great atmosphere and quite challenging! I liked the use of the theme but did get stuck at one point and couldn't seem to get a combination to work! Overall it was really good!!!
thank you for playing!!
I love LOVE the atmosphere. then again i love time loops and a bit of unsettling spook. i think it would help to make the hitbox of the objects you can ponder a bit bigger, it was a bit hard to tell what i can ponder (or if i was pondering at all) but i absolutely love the mechanic. awesome!!
Thank you for playing our game!! We’re so glad you enjoyed the unsettling atmosphere 😭😭😭
I got stuck after getting the bag of ice; I can't seem to get past the street lamps.
Great on the theme & limitation. Feels stressful to play, and I can feel the summer heat. Good job!
Thank you for playing our game!!
