I was going crazy in the tutorial trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. It's clear you're not supposed to use the spacebar after the title screen, but clicking the mouse appeared to move my hand, but it didn't work!

The way the fish randomly rotate when you press a button is my favorite part lmao.

Very nice game! I enjoyed it thoroughly. The music and audio was definitely a large part of what made it great!

i uh... i did get stuck catching worms at the start and had to reload the game to actually play. Couldn't figure out how to exit that.

Developer

Thank you so much! To exit the worm game you gotta press the escape key. For a lot of the other things that open in the game like the inventory, I last minute realised I should add a close button because escape was leaving fullscreen in the web browser build but I forgot to do this for the worm game, my apologies.

Insanely addicting game! The music was amazing and had such great variety!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)

me love good ol' fshn'

I really liked the variety in tunes for each fish! Some of the tunes did feel off-tempo towards their ending, but it still felt good to play. I also can't believe the instructions were a lie... oh wait.

Developer

Thank you! We definitely had some issues with the web build when it came to syncing audio for longer songs, and unfortunately we couldn't find a fix in time T-T

Your music literally reminds me of undertale and stardew, so naturally, I fell in love with the jellyfish! 10/12 and honestly such a treat :) Getting the wrong minigame instructions was really funny, nice interpretation of the limitation!

Developer

Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I LOVE the music of the fishs, and the fact that each of them have they're own music, its really good! I hope to see your dream game in the future! I did have some dificulty with the controls (thank for the coments that helped me to undertand what i was doing wrong) and that's a good thing in this jam! Nice job! You did great!! Also the art in the fishs and the ocean part was really pretty too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I'm so glad you loved the music and art!

A really cute game with a lot of heart. Figuring the mechanics out at the beginning was a bit hard, haha. I especially enjoyed the sound design and fish art (so cute!). Very well done!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Cool game!

Art and music were great, my favorite track was the jellyfish theme!

The fishing itself is pretty fun, although knowing music notation can make it a bit easy.

Didn't manage to get all 12 fish, only got 11.

Only gripe I had was with the catching worm part. Once I got enough I pressed the escape key but that only closed the fullscreen, and so I thought that it would stop automatically and only after having caught 30 did I try to press escape again after leaving the fullscreen.

Great job!

Thank you for the feedback, Saca! Yeah I potentially should have added an extra exit button for that :p

For catching 11 you get a high-four hehe

Other than the initial "instructions are a lie" interpreted in a way that makes the player suffer, this is honestly one of the best games i've played. The polish, art, and music are really out of this world.

Developer

Thank you so much !

Without "the instructions are a lie" prompt, I think this would be a lot more fun. It was a bit frustrating at the start while figuring out what to do. Once I got going, I enjoyed it. Bonus points for fish art! Check out my submission about scubadiving, our tunas look like cousins! :D

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it and liked the fish art :)

I actually came back to play this again today and really got into it! All of the tracks are really cool and the minigame is brilliant. Thanks again!

Harder than I anticipated. The walking is a bit too fast though. Also don't suggest wrong buttons like Space in place of Enter, it makes the game confusing, at least in the main menu.

Developer

Never gonna make the instructions a lie again ;-;

Thanks for the critique, though. The walking probably is a little fast.

I can’t really comment much on the game since I kinda did not get the main mechanics for the game. I think I did sit for around quite a few minutes but trying to get the hand to catch the fish simply does not work for me even in the tutorial. The sound and beat kinda helps but I can’t catch anything at all and can’t get past the tutorial :(.

Might be a bug as well?

Developer(+2)

Hi cabycat! Rest assured it isn't a bug but a result of this jam's restriction: The instructions are a lie. Trust your ears :)
