Great game! Trying to predict the robot movement was where the game got fun for me, since it gave it a Into The Breach-like feel. Hope you keep working on it!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. We hadn't thought of that comparison, but in fact they're surprisingly similar in several ways. We don't know yet whether there will be an improved and expanded version, but we do see potential in the project. Thank you.

Submitted

Pretty good game! It ended early when I accidently pressed ctrl + w while trying to dash forward. Not my cup of tea, but it was still a good experience

Developer

Thanks for playing it.

Really charming game :) I think adding some sound control would help, since those robots were super loud haha but overall great entry! Congrats on your first game jam!

Developer

Thank you for playing it! The settings were originally planned, but in the end there just wasn’t time to implement them. (I have to admit I tend to play video games at fairly low volume, so I didn’t notice how loud the robots were—thanks for the feedback!)

Submitted

well considered design here! a little more polish in UX and feedback / speed would help smooth it out into an awesome little game

Developer

Thank you for the suggestions; they'll be a great help in our future projects.

Turn based stealth is one of the more original concepts this jam. Grid based games is one of the more challenging things to do in a jam's time crunch, there's a lot of moving parts to it but you managed to do it without any bugs! Good job!

Developer

Don't think there aren't still some bugs left in it... If you really want to, you can break it, but fortunately I've only run into that bug once myself so far... Thanks for playing it! :)

I beat it! This was a fun little puzzle game. I liked the art and design. The Next Turn button felt redundant towards the beginning when you can only move once, but as you progressed and had more moves, then it made sense. I think maybe an undo move (limited, maybe something you earn/purchase?) would make Next Turn easier to reason about. Otherwise, solid entry!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing it through! We appreciate the ideas—you might see them used in one of our future jams.

Pizza Throne ACQUIRED o7! Fun little turn/puzzle game!

Well done for a turn based game! thanks for submitting!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game. I like your style. You've gained a new subscriber.

Great Idea and love the little pun you made there!

One feedback that I have is to have to turn taking much faster.

Buuuuut  wait. I guess the main character is a turtle after all, so thematically you did a great job :)

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing our game! We appreciate your kind words. The turns are indeed quite long. :)

A mutant turtle that loves pizza? Now I've seen everything. Next you're going to tell me that he was raised by a rat. Hahaha this game was fun! Thanks!

Developer

There may not have been any rats in it, but there were evil robots at least... 😅

I think one improvement to speed it up, is having a hotkey for end turn (like spacebar) instead of having to use the mouse to click.  Also some of the puzzles are impossible to get around without taking damage, although that might be intentional.

Developer(+1)

Indeed, the damage on the second and third levels is intentional, because we wanted to make it clear to the player what the acid and the robot do. The hotkey is a good idea. Originally, we planned to automatically advance the turn when your moves reached zero, but unfortunately we ran out of time to implement it. (By the way, if you've already clicked the button at least once on that level, you should be able to advance the turn with the SPACE key.) Thanks for playing and for the comment!

fun game! had a blast (tho how do you make it past the second lvl lol im slow

Developer(+1)

Which level do you mean by the second one? The one with the acid, or the one with the robot?

If it's the latter, then as far as I know, you can get through it by moving one step to the right every turn. (Except when the robot is right next to you.)

Submitted(+1)

acid lol

Developer(+1)

In this case, when you're standing on the acid tile, you need to press the 'NEXT' button. The acid will then deal one point of damage to you, and afterward you'll have another move, allowing you to step to the right and leave the tile.

Submitted(+1)

oh lmao how did i not figure that out

Developer(+1)

This was actually very valuable feedback for me, because it will help me make the individual mechanics clearer next time. :)

Submitted(+1)

I also didn't figure this out!

The Game Is Great
but you have really steal everything from ninja turtle😂
this isn't a problem
i loved the game and i loved how the camera goes to the robot when it's turn comes but if you add some smooth it was going to be better
Thanks For The Great Game

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind comment! The TMNT series that aired on Nickelodeon has always been one of our favorites. It’s true that we used a lot of it as ‘inspiration.’ (In other words, we basically stole it...)

We originally considered it, but in the end we didn’t have time to implement smoother camera transitions.

Submitted

okay sorry if steal word make you feel bad but i am from egypt and english is not my language so pls i did not mean any thing bad
and really i loved the game it is very good
and i am happy that you worked together to make this great game
thanks for the reply

Developer

No, that’s not how we meant it at all. We interpret all feedback in a positive way.

(We’re not native English speakers either, and in many cases we have to use a translator or a dictionary to understand the comments)

Why do all turtles love pizza? ahaha

very original take on the turn based gameplay, I would add a +1 to the comments saying that I should be able move freely around and wait for my turn. Good graphics!
Congrats on making it to the finish line

Developer

Stay positive. (It's just a small bug.)

Great to see another game about pizza :P

Developer(+1)

Great to see another game about pizza :P (Jokes aside, thanks for the comment.)

Submitted

Fun concept. It is a little dissapointing that i cant move freely around and wait for my turn., it makes the game very slow. Other than that, the rest are quite fitting and well done made. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words. Others have also mentioned, and we’ve experienced ourselves, that the gameplay is quite slow—we’ll pay attention to that next time.

Submitted(+1)

Poor turtle! Those vacuums are evil!

Developer(+1)

That's life: you either die or get fat.

Submitted

Quite a nice turn based game! The art is great tbh, and the core gameplay is fun but feels too slow. I think it just needs a bit more polish on the general game feel to really bring it to life specifically, tweaking the turns so they don’t start to feel repetitive. It’s a very solid foundation nonetheless!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words. Originally, there would have been more mechanics and abilities. However, due to time constraints, we had to reduce the number of mechanics. Others have also mentioned, and we’ve experienced ourselves, that the gameplay is quite slow—we’ll pay attention to that next time.
