I really enjoy the idea and the feel of driving the taxi was pretty satisfying, but I had a pretty hard time finding the passengers after the first one. Would help if there was some kind of pointer indicating the next goal.
Hey, thanks for playing! One of the upgrades in the garage actually adds tiers of navigation that help you know where you need to go
What a great idea! Super smart mashup of crazy taxi with powers, just really a strong premise. Also I loved the taxi and mutation art. I laughed when I had all sorts of stuff on me and I was turtle spinning with my racoon arms out. One balance thing I noticed, it was actually better to just farm logs for 10 gold at a time since they respawned.
Thank you so much! If I revisit this game I will definitely balance the gold pickups better. I was actually hoping someone would realize this was a quick way to get a lot of gold haha
Super polished and enjoyable! Really impressive for the time limit.
Minor issues with the controls, Ctrl+A/D weren't exclusively captured be the game and led to my browser closing 😅.
So sorry for the issues with the controls! When I made the game I definitely had the desktop version in mind and didn't test enough on the web. Thank you for playing!
I love the effort you put into this! This a beautiful game with great 3D art. The driving mechanic is on point put I think the camera needs a bit of implovement because it gets dizzy pretty easily.
Overall, great entry!
I appreciate your kind words! I will definitely rework the camera if I revisit this after the jam! Thank you for playing!
I love the little abilities you get from passengers. I started with nothing but buying upgrades and tedious tasks becoming more streamlined was super satisfying!
That is great to hear! Thank you for playing!
I can't believe you made this in 9 days as a solo dev! Great Job! It is so polished and complete.
I'm very bad at driving game with a keyboard an mouse so I didn't get really far. I added the game to collection, when/if you start to support controllers, I'd like to play again!
Thank you for saying that! I really appreciate it. I would love to add controller support and wish I did for this jam. I honestly didn't even think about it. Whoops!
I loved this game! It was fun and easy to figure out from the get. The art for the critters was my favorite, and I wanted to keep dropping off the turtle and the frog quickly just to see if I could get the beaver again - he was my favorite cartoon! I definitely got topsy turvy from the wiggle of the car and the controls, but once you figure it out to avoid the camera spinning, there's something kind of charming about the swirvy mechanics of driving the car and controlling the camera. I think for someone more motion-sick it would be nice to have the ability to configure the camera and things like that, but it would be totally impossible to implement customizations like that in a game jam. Overall, great game! Good job
Yeah, I did think there was charm in the silliness of the driving, but I would like to improve the handling and camera controls if I revisit this idea. If nothing else, it is a stepping stone to making a better car game in the future! Thanks for playing!
Impressed with the amount of content you made in the short time, especially for your first jam! I struggled a bit with the controls (WASD + mouse made me veer all over the road lol) but I liked the passenger pickup/drop off loop. Nice job!
Totally fair! I would definitely like to redo the controls if I revisit this in the future. Thank you for playing it!
Loved this game! The taxi and character art was so nice, and I loved the car mutations. Amazing that you made all this in such a short time!
Thank you! Art is one of the areas I struggle with so that means a lot to me!
Car felt fun to drive! Loved the visual changes to your car after picking up a new passenger. Felt good to figure out how not to spin out and use mutations to get to dropoff points faster. Got to the town center dropoff point really fast one time by driving into the water lol
Haha I was wondering if anyone would use the water respawn to their advantage like that! Good job! Thank you so much for playing!
Excellent art style!
Solid game loop.
Good jam!
Thank you very much! I appreciate you playing my game!
the game is good so as the graphics and music but the controls need to be tuned as specially the camera and the jump.
apart from that the game is great
Thank you for the feedback! What specifically would you like to be different about the camera and jump controls? This was my first time trying to make a car controller so I would love to improve on it once the jam ends.
It's just the camera felt a bit too unstable and shakes a lot so it slightly feels nausea inducing.
As for the jump it's that the car starts to rotate on a bunch axes at the same time and quickly becomes hard to control.
those aren't a big deal just a bit of constructive criticism to an overall fun game
That makes sense! Thank you for the feedback!
Hi, the theme in your game is very unique and interesting. Good job!
Thank you for kind words! I really appreciate it!
