Great loop. Disgusting setting. I like it!
The game loop was very unique and interesting. At one point, I felt like the plague just kept progressing and no matter what cures I tried, I wasn't able to get ahead of it, like there is no win condition. But maybe that was the point of the game - that he was supposed to die, similar to how it was to live with plague during that period? Which if that's the case, you captured the experience perfectly! What I found interesting was how I felt compelled to do everything in my power to keep the patient alive, despite knowing he couldn't be saved...
I loved the sound design (one of the top ones I've seen this jam) and the story was captivating - the plague genuinely gave me the ick; something about those sores on his back started getting gross at one point lol. The permanent plagues didn't really feel permanent because I was able to excise them - not sure if that was a bug. Nonetheless, this was a fantastic entry!
This was a really fun puzzle game. At first I didn't realize how the shield worked. I was expecting some sort of area of effect around it. Once I realized how it behaved, I did a lot better. After my 3rd attempt, I found success! Great job!
Interesting but difficult any time I clicked during the night if the doctor was talking I'd lost mana the next day. Cool game though.
The game is great, had to play it two times, wish it was longer <3
Liked the tone and aesthetic, though I couldn't figure out how to progress. "End Night" just put me in the research screen with 5/6 points (game start only has 1 set of 3 disease spots and then many sets of 2), then it would put me back into "Night 1" without resetting my mana. Not sure if it's a bug or just a skill issue, to be fair! I love the concept and the little narrative snippets when you end the night. Good stuff! Please let me know if I just got something wrong as I'd love to play more!
Thanks for the feedback! There should be a Begin Night button right above the dialogue box.
That's the thing, clicking Begin Night sent be back into Night 1. I just tested the game again and had the same issue (Firefox), but when I tried it in Safari, it worked!
Something funky is going on with Godot web builds. Our game has some screen effect issues on macOS using Chrome and Safari but not in Firefox. Seems like some Godot games and different browsers have different ideas of how they should work when running on macOS, as our issues disappear on Windows and Linux. Weird as! I'll give it another go on Safari now that I know it is a browser compatibility issue.
Okay, glad it worked and I REALLY appreciate you trying again. I know there are a lot of games in this and appreciate the attention.
We will need to add that to our testing battery for next time. Though I must admit, as a windows fellow I'm not sure how I feel about supporting Mac users (JK)
Hahahaha as a semi-recent Linux convert, I will not let my work-computer Mac define me!
No worries about trying again, just gave it another go and had a great time! Loved the little touch of having each of the infected spots burst one by one when you win the game. The game felt pretty refined and the mood was surprisingly immersive. Great work!
I like it I liked the overall artistic direction and sound a lot.
Nice job! A relaxing, clicky game. I thought the music and sound effects were very effective as well :)
