Cool game! I like the enemy types, if I had any feedback it'd be sometimes the last wave seemed impossible to finish (I'm glad I finished it in the end still) not sure if it's random spawns or not but it did seem like there were often 2 enemies from opposite sides coming and I could only dodge 1. Good stuff!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll have to think about how to balance the spawning of asteroids so that a player is never in an impossible situation. I believe it partly might be because the spawning radius is a rectangle right now to match the screen size. This along with the different asteroid types having different speeds probably makes it so theres a decent change two asteroids hit you from either sides at teh same time.
Really fun! I like the music and the art a lot! The whole thing is really nicely done, I hope you keep up the great work!
Thank you! I'll try to make an update after the jam ends, thanks for the words of encouragement :)
that was a tone of fun! i like the way the planets hit away and i liked the simple but engaging gameplay loop
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you had fun!
Fantastic simple little game! Love the music, pixel art, and of course just spinning around hitting away asteroids with a giant rocket powered ping pong paddle! Great job!
Thanks! That means a lot because I did the music and art myself and I'm still learning.
Love the simplicity of the gameplay. I don’t know what it is, but bouncing asteroids away with a racket attached to Earth is really satisfying. Great submission!
Thanks for playing! :)
this is very nice and simple, its very fun to play, good job<3
Thanks for playing and I'm glad you had fun! :)
Simple, but it's fun to play.
I'm missing some sound when asteroids collide and some other visual effects to have a better feedback of the collisions of the asteroids with the paddle and other asteroids
Thanks for playing! I agree in hindsight it would have been very satisfying to have SFX for when things collide in the game.
This was really nice! A simple gameplay loop, but well-executed and a lot of good, silly fun. The graphics are nothing to write home about, but they don't have to be; and it was satisfying watching the asteroids go flying after you hit them (it felt very nice to line up a shot at a distance asteroid when that was possible). One critique is that I felt like wave 2 was much harder than 3 or 4, but maybe that's just me. I also think some sound effects would go a long way toward fleshing this out a bit more. But the core gameplay here is really fun; I had a good time playing it. Great job!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I agree, after I submitted I facepalmed because I realized I totally forgot about sound effects. The point about wave 2 being more difficult than 3 or 4 is a great point too, I didn't consider that and it makes a lot of sense to swap those around. Glad you had a good time though!
super fun!!! reminded me a bunch of the green soul mode in UNDERTALE but with a ping pong paddle. loved the thing where you could knock back other asteroids too. i WISH i could rate this man :/
Thank you for trying my game even if you can't rate it!! Glad you enjoyed playing and that means a lot to me. Also the undertale comparison made my day that's very kind LOL
fun game,
Thanks!
Holy moly this game jam is making me realise just how trash I am at games, but jokes aside this was a such a fun game and reminds me that well even a simple idea can be super awesome if it is executed right. The second was hell tho those red ones are much more faster but I love the concept and was surprisingly addicting and I love how the asteroids destroy each other too so you can perform some cool deflects. I think this has potential to be a great cozy little game, maybe with more features you could release it on mobile! ( and also update it here since I would love to play it again )
Thanks for playing and for the words of encouragement! My favorite part is probably sending the asteroids into one another. I'm really glad you had fun with the game :)
I managed to beat the game with just 1 death! I really enjoyed seeing all the new asteroid types as the waves progressed. Some way to encourage hitting objects towards a certain direction could be really cool and add some more depth!
Overall this was a good time, nice work! And a giant rocket-powered ping pong paddle is a very original idea :)
That's pretty impressive as the final wave is pretty hard even for me as the dev! Also, thanks for the feedback! I replied this to a comment below as well, but I think it would have been cool to have a minigame of deflecting enough asteroids into one another to restore health. This would have added some depth to endless mode too. I appreciate the super kind words, thanks for playing :)
Neat game! The spinning handled quite nicely, although it did feel at certain points taking a hit was unavoidable. Could very well be a skill issue as well.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! The asteroids can definitely spawn in a way that make it impossible to deflect all of them, I didn't put any guardrails for the spawning behavior. That's definitely something worth exploring if I was to make an update
Cool Game!
Thank you!!
Love this game though I was very bad at it lol.
Thanks for playing! The balancing of the game was definitely one of the hardest aspects to get right, so I'm sorry if it was too hard 😭 But I believe in you if you wanted to keep trying, it took me some practice to beat the game
No don't worry lol I did beat it it was great fun playing through i
Cool game! I have to say, it's somehow extremely satisfying to play the spinning mechanic just clicks! Managed to beat the final wave after a few attempts :)
Thank you! I definitely used a lot of jam time just playing the game because I thought it was fun too haha. I think I got a good balance of difficulty so that it is satisfying to smack asteroids around. Congrats on beating the game :)
Unfortunately the game is clearly a prototype. The idea could work, if well balanced. The menu doesn't work so after 10 seconds in, when you get your first defeat, you just can't restart the wave.
Sorry, totally was debugging at the time of submission and just uploaded the full game now! I just had to get it submitted so I wouldn't miss the deadline. Thanks for playing though!
Cool! I'll try again then.
It ended being a great game. Good job! It would be great to have a way to receive life back too.
Thanks for giving it another try! I totally agree and I was thinking if I had more time it could have been cool to have a way to restore life by getting a certain number of asteroid collisions.
