Fun game! I love the art and goofy frog music. And the little ribbit sounds they make. Using the tongue to swing around feels great.
I’m struggling to finish any of the levels though: The 1st and 2nd levels don’t have much time between grabs, so I haven’t been able to get further than the first flag in each. I keep running out of momentum in the last level, and am unsure how to get through that one. Going left always results in me running out of momentum and stopping between the whirlpools, but going right gets me stuck bouncing around the middle of the big one.
Note: I’m running this through Proton on Linux, so maybe it’s just a compatibility issue making the speed wonky for me.
Bugs:
- I noticed that the reset doesn’t use up a life. Only really relevant in the third level, but it means I could keep trying the left path without punishment. I honestly kinda liked being able to keep trying without a game over though. I would quite enjoy this game without lives and instead with a time based score system.
- The tongue chargeup sound keeps playing after death (unless you get a game over). It resets only when you start charging up the tongue again.
