Fun game! I love the art and goofy frog music. And the little ribbit sounds they make. Using the tongue to swing around feels great.

I’m struggling to finish any of the levels though: The 1st and 2nd levels don’t have much time between grabs, so I haven’t been able to get further than the first flag in each. I keep running out of momentum in the last level, and am unsure how to get through that one. Going left always results in me running out of momentum and stopping between the whirlpools, but going right gets me stuck bouncing around the middle of the big one.

Note: I’m running this through Proton on Linux, so maybe it’s just a compatibility issue making the speed wonky for me.

Bugs:

  • I noticed that the reset doesn’t use up a life. Only really relevant in the third level, but it means I could keep trying the left path without punishment. I honestly kinda liked being able to keep trying without a game over though. I would quite enjoy this game without lives and instead with a time based score system.
  • The tongue chargeup sound keeps playing after death (unless you get a game over). It resets only when you start charging up the tongue again.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

The gameplay was tricky to implement so we couldn't smooth out all the issues like the prompts.

The puzzle design was by me, but Sana gets full credit for all the assets and animations and being the reason the game can stand on its own.

Thank you!! We started very late so we couldn't implement everything we wanted to, but I'm glad we could showcase at least some of the brilliant art Sana made.

The character swapping made pathing very annoying since we need to make surfaces different for each. I have an idea that should fix it, but we ran out of time for it.

Thank you! I really wish we got to showcase all of the art we had, because there was so much more! We'll make a blog post with more of it when we can!

Fully credit to Sana for how beautiful it all was!

I'm worried about this yeah, I would love to credit them too, but it isn't fair to have 5 when others have 4. I might look into getting free music from elsewhere instead if it isn't allowed.

Since I think it counts as someone making music for the game, I'll work on getting free assets instead.

We have a team of 4 people, but we are using music by a 5th person who isn't technically working with us, but was commissioned by me. Would this break the rules?
