i like a lot the concept , and the visuals are very good :o

I really like how the scroll wheel is the control for the game! The only issue I had was that I have no idea what the boons do. They seem to have no effect? I really like the art too! Great job!

This is so cool, would love to see where this project is heading! I think you should make the ambiance moodier, draw your inspiration from Lovecraft since you're already in the middle of the ocean. Other than that, great job!

Liked the idea of having a steering wheel type spinning mechanic to it- so that its hard to control, unfortunately I didn’t really understand if there is a way to make distance with the monster or is it just time based? Also I didn’t really get what the perks did. Aside from that, its a fun little experience! solid entry!

Hey thanks for playing!! We are working on some fixes that we are gonna add in after the jam, which will help with not knowing what the perks do and balancing how fast the monster fish approaches you! At the moment you can keep the monster away by catching different fish, but if you survive long enough the monster still gets you anyway 🥲👍

The mouse wheel to control is the most innovative take on the theme I've seen yet! Awesome work!

Amazing artwork! This was a creative concept with really serious stakes. Although at some point the monster didn't cared if I collected fish or anything it didn't slowed downed or backed of. I dunno if this happens because you survive too long.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback and for playing our game! In the current game mode, the monster accelerates over time to make the game more challenging. It is not fully balanced yet. There is a point if you survive long enough where indeed, some of the smaller fish won't be enough to slow down the monster and only the large and/or golden fish will.

wow, i really liked the concept

Very nice concept. A simple mechanica but right on the theme and hard to master. Very nice game with a great vibe and beautiful style.

Thank you very much for your kind words!

I really like the art going on here! The audio is really well done as well! The scroll wheel control was unusual but not in a bad way, the learning curve from it adds an extra layer which I think is really creative!

Really cool mechanic! it's different from everything else! I think it would be nice to add more visual feedback or make the player move around more often, but other than that, it's really great! :D

Nice design and aesthetic. Mouse wheel control worked really nicely. Felt tricky to use at first but quickly became quite familiar. Enjoyed this alot

I'm impressed, just wow, the art, the concept, the idea, the sounds.. everything is so cool and relaxing (and a little addictive) if there were a bigger version of this game, I'd definitely buy it

tbh I didn't like using the mouse wheel at first, but after a few minutes I got used to it and it became easy to control..that said, I'd still love to see alternative control options -I meant it-

The vibe is really cool. Took me a second to catch on but fun otherwise, good work :)

I loved the hunger sound effects + the whole fishing vibe. I couldn't really figure out the controls except for the spinning tho :(

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! There is only one control, and it's using the mouse wheel. So if you could spin, you figured out all the controls!

Submitted(+1)

oh ok that was just me being silly then 🙃 (i like that idea btw it also fits the theme in a cool way)

Submitted(+2)

Very creative - love the mouse wheel control!

Cool game! Took me a while to figure out how to kind of control the spin. Felt "un-aimable" a bit due to being so sensitive haha. After that it would have been nice to know what the perks did! Maybe with a hover summary or a flash of text when you get it. Besides that, cool art! :)

Those flat-bottom kayaks do spin a lot, it reminds me of some summer vacations.

I like the visual art and the Lovecraftian vibe. The UI is cool and really serves the purpose of the game.  The risk/recompense balance is very interesting, and all that with just one input ! good job !

If I had to spot a downside, I'd say that it's hard to understand the link between spinning the mouse wheel and the effect on the game.  It makes it feel unfairly random at first.

I had 3 chests in my best run, and like 5 gold fishes

You did a great job capturing the inertia of a boat at sea with the controls, and I loved the sounds!

I wasn't quite sure what the perks did, and it wasn't clear why I couldn't just sit on one section once I had it lined up.

Overall cute game :)

Thank you for your comment and for playing the game! If you keep fishing the same fish, there is an "overfishing" mechanic that makes it become more inefficient and it is conveyed by the fish icon turning grey. But reading the comments, I understand the visual cue for it needs to be more obvious, or something else could happen to deter you from camping the same fishing spot. Appreciate the feedback!

Wow, really cool! :D

I liked the graphics, if you went a little darker you could have a "Water Womb World" kind of aesthetic

The one issue is with enough patience you can get the kayak to stop spinning and stay still in one place, permanently fishing something over and over. Maybe a mechanic like a strong wave that flings you in one direction could be a fix for this
