cool game i liked the changing seasons mechanic

good game great job :)

This is a really cool mechanic you implemented, with how the environment changes in order to progress. It's always been something I admire in games. Although, I'm a bit stuck. I got past the first two rivers to find that object on the ground that I assume lights up torches, but I don't know to actually use it, because nothing lights up when I'm near it, and no amount of pressing keys or clicking helps. I'm sorry I couldn't get any further, the game looks really good though.

Quite a cool game, really like the puzzle solving element about it but do wish the player could move faster

This is so original and cool, I had a blast playing it! If you plan to work on this further, might I suggest raising the stakes a little bit for dying?  You lose something/you get debuffs something among those lines. Also, maybe make the seasons even more exaggerated or add more perks/downsides for  each season. Maybe the player gains the ability to manipulate a little bit the seasons. Call for fog/rain/day/night but temporarily. Alsoo, what if you lean a little bit in the horror genre as well? I am sure you'll figure it out, such a great job!

This game idea is really unique, i love it!

Like others said, it is quite challenging, but that is what makes it fun, i don't think that i have discovered all mechanics yet. It feels a bit like Myst, which is pretty cool.

I could totally imagine this idea going futher, well done!

This game is very unique! To use the change of season as the spin for the game is very creative. The visuals and audio feedback is good! It's lagging on my end even if I turned off the particles, but I'm using a potato laptop don't worry. A bit music even an ambient would definitely improve the audio aspect of the game.

Now same with the previous comments, the guards are really annoying. There are times that it could still detect me through the wall, and I can't do anything about it until it gets to winter. This clearly made the game too difficult thus affecting the enjoyment of the game.

Overall, this game is very creative and unique. I could see a lot of potential on this game and I would recommend you to continue it. I want to see the improved version of this game. To have this kind of output for this one week job is in itself amazing! Good job and congratulations!

The main mechanic is fantastyc and have a lot of potential if you polish the effect on the torchs in seasons and the layout of the ruins.
As it said in other comments, the guards feel have a random pattern and many times they detect you throught walls.Maybe you could remove completly the guards. If your intention was to do a "main puzzle" game, I think the guards are annoying.

Great work!

Winter really do be the goat in this, until night winter.

This game is probably way too difficult. The guard cycles seem to have non-obvious or unintuitive solutions, combined with the poor visibility when going through long treks through the level, you can find yourself making your way through one gap with a guard, but then running into another on a time crunch and just dying, which is a bit of a frustrating experience. The central mechanic is very unique and creative for the theme, and I enjoy the idea, though for some of it, it felt like some of the seasons were obviously bad, or didn't have a good use-case with the torch mechanics, though that could be a thing that just comes across in this short experience. I feel like with some tuning on the things I mentioned this could be really great, it's just really frustrating right now.

Thanks for the criticism. I definitely struggled with balancing the seasons (figuring out appropriate gameplay related effects for each season was kinda hard) as well as making each season feel distinct. The game feels frustratingly hard for me too tbh, but that feels like it would be a lot easier to fix if I ever came back to this (just by adjusting guard stats or having a better map layout). Sorry you didn't enjoy it much but I really do appreciate the feedback :)

Clearly the best game of the jam i’m not biased

Feels very laggy, and hard to play, even on performance settings. I couldn't really experience the game because of the lag, sorry.

Developer

aw man I'm sorry to hear that. I was worried about that (which is why the performance toggle exists) but I developed this on my desktop pc and I didn't get around to testing it on any weaker devices.

Yeah sorry, my laptop is kinda old.
