This was an experience.  Really interesting concept, though I'm not sure I see the spinning theme.  Gameplay was simple, but the upgrades added something and gave me some agency so that it wasn't just random chance.  It also made me feel something, which is more than I can say for a lot of games.  I was kinda sad the whole way through., so kudos on hitting the right emotional notes there.

All-in-all, this is fantastic for a first game.  Great job!

Thank you very much for the kind words :)

I took more of the "very serious" theme than the spinning one haha i think i may have misread lolsss

Appreciate you :)

A very interesting game that has clearly come from a very personal place, I respect it a lot. I really like how the gameplay feels connected to the emotional story of the game, it really makes that final point hit home in a way that I dont think would work if it had been in another form of media. Great work.

This is a very cool concept, I did NOT expect this when clicking on the thumbnail (in a good way). Even with very simple gameplay and graphics, I felt very invested in the story and felt sad the entire time T_T.

I was a little dumb though and didn't read the entire description so I was confused if this was just gambling until you hit 8 in a row lol (and when I figured out the upgrades I still didn't fully understand what each one was for). Amazing concept and very well executed :) great stuff !

edit: if this is your first game holy crap O_o that's crazy good ! I'm very impressed (even if it's not actually your first game lol)

cathartic and awesome, cool take on the theme, clever use of stats to build towards the payoff, it's peak

Well executed with such simple gameplay. I assume the leave button is not an actual button you can press? At least I couldn't find it. But I can see the purpose of that :). You had me perked up when things visually escalated at higher amounts! Hats off creating such an intense and serious vibe with a handful of pixels. It's impressive!

Developer

aww thank you so much for the kind words! Yes im definitely super happy with the concept :)

The title caught my eye. The darker theme went great with the seriousness category. It took me a little to figure out the controls for upgrades and answering the question but it turned out to be simpler than i was making it. As a fellow pixel artist, i really appreciated what you were able to create with this lower resolution. Great work!

Developer

Thank you sm! Definitely looking forward to fleshing the game out! To be honest i rushed quite a bit and was my first game so have learnt a lot even just in this week!! Will be making updates when i have the time :)

I wasn't really sure if I was progressing or not. I couldn't figure out whether saying yes or no was the "correct" response. If it was situational, I couldn't tell what the right thing to do was or how the stats affected my answer. But oh boy did this game have a serious tone. Good job creating a serious atmosphere with the dark background, and unsettling pixel art. I'd be curious to see how a horror/suspense game from you might turn out if you did a full project.

Developer

wait these comments are so cute haha. I appreciate you sm! And yes, i really want to flesh the game out with a proper soundtrack / clearer visual audio queues and put more time into polishing with some "game juice" - appreciate you!!!
