I played your game and really enjoyed it! The movement mechanics are simple yet highly effective. I also love the visual effects, and the pixel art style looks great.
However, if someone hasn't seen the game's title beforehand, they might initially get a bit confused about the art design. For instance, when I first started playing, I didn't realize our character was actually a cart.
The music is a little repetitive, but it syncs perfectly with the gameplay and overall vibe. Also, the enemy AI could definitely be more aggressive. Of course, I know you had a limited development time, so you can always polish the AI later.
Congratulations on the game!"
Thank you! These are two things I plan on fixing later on in development (when jam season is over). I guess sticking horns onto a shopping trolly at low res kinda does make it hart to understand... but I feel as though this might not be something I need to fix, as a little mystique here and there doesn't hurt ;) Thanks again!
I loove how it felt to just speed up and ram into people very fun!
Movement :smooth
Music: Great
SFX: Awesome
The AI seems to get stuck pretty easily
But overall great game
Fun game. I like the setting and enjoyed crashing into the other cards. The other carts got stuck quite a lot but I guess that was good as it seemed to be the only way of attacking them without taking damage myself. The movement mechanic was pretty fun though.
I liked the game but the AI tends to get stuck too much, even just having an arrow on screen showing their general direction would be great to help track them down!
Honestly really smooth movement, I enjoyed playing it but i hoped for WASD controls, but overall really nice!!
Thank you! Sorry for no rate to your game, it's very thoughtful to rate mine anyway. I think I have divided players with 'should it be WASD or LMB' in the future I might add support for both...
Controlling the cart feels incredibly smooth, 10/10. The art and music are great too. I felt the cart goes a bit too fast, which makes it kind of tough to find other carts again. Still, great job!
Thank you! (Between you and me, can I ask what category I lost stars on?) Also, how did you find my game? Was it a post I did or another game's comments?
This was a really cool concept and I loved the moving mechanic just being hold the mouse where you want to go which I thought was different!
as others have stated, the "jousting" mechanic was fun, but man when you and the enemy overshoot each other it can take a lot of time finding them again. That said from reading the comments it sounds like you have implemented some changes that will help with that.
Thank you! I wanted the controls to be as simple but quite visceral instead of the normal wasd. Right you are
Great game and amazing visuals! When you could find your opp and land a hit it felt very satisfying, but I feel maybe it would benefit from making where they are a bit clearer through zooming out or a marker or something else of that sorts. Overall good job!
The handling feels great!
Fun arcade game!
I really liked the idea of letting the cart run wild—it’s a fascinating concept! The graphics are amazing, especially the explosive effects, which were spectacular. As for feedback, it was a bit difficult to steer while attacking with a spin move, so I’d love to see the handling improved to make turning easier. I really enjoyed the game!
Thank you! I love making art the best so that's a real compliment! I agree with the fine tuning of the handling, although, I wanted to emphasise the spinning as much as I could for the jam. Watch out for an updated version after the winners are revealed!
Loved the game! The VFX & SFX are top-notch, but it lacks feedback when I collide with another cart or even something to know where the other carts are. But nonetheless it's fun and replayable!
I have already created a bigger brother version of this game with both of your requests. As soon as the voting ends, expect to see the better version! Good luck and thanks for the advice/feedback!
Great graphics and audio. The music gets repetitive though. Personally I don't like controls where the direction is set by holding a mouse, but I got used to it after a while. Sometimes I couldn't find any enemy and was randomly roaming. Maybe zooming out when moving faster could help, or some enemy indicators?
After the first upgrade I was losing health without any contact with anything. And there was a little lag on first explosion. Still a great game and I had a lot of fun!
Lots of fun and tough! It doesn't feel like it is possible to stay alive for any duration. Some sort of healing or way to repair your cart would be cool. Some way to stretch out the run, or not take damage. If there is a way to fight and not take damage, I didn't figure it out :) I loved the visuals and the physics are solid! Great work!
This game is visually stunning! I struggled with the gameplay finding it quite difficult, but satisfying nonetheless. My only real criticism is that i found the music to be quite repetitive.
Yes, I think everyone (including me) can agree on hating the music... It's only 6 bars repeated over and over and over... But thank you for the feedback! Good luck. Also, how did you find my game? Was it from one of my posts or something else?
I think it was from a comment on a different jam game.
It was a fun game and a very cool idea all around! Many cool power up to suit up my shopping cart even more! Could only make it to level 3 though, was very tough! But like the game over screen said, probably was a skill issue lol. Just wish it was a little easier to find the enemies. Other than that, super solid, Great Job!
Cool game idea! If you could just zoom out a bit, that would help a lot making it easier to play!
Fun physics, hard to find and attack the enemies though! Wish there was a way to get back health
It's a fun concept, but I found it very hard to find the enemies. Would have been nice to either have a more zoomed out camera or arrows around the edge of the screen maybe pointing towards the enemies? Very fun idea with the powerups as well, but whenever I reached the second level my HP just got drained instantly because I touched the carts with the barbed wire on the side I think? I died super fast even though I was full HP, which I think was a little evil but it might just be a skill issue as you said in the end haha. Either way, fun concept, I'm sad I didn't manage to reach more upgrades/levels but it was a little too hard for me!
Just finished playing your game! Thank you for the feedback, I literally have already made a build of the game with indicator arrows for the enemies and better pacing, so the SECOND I can upload a new file after the jam, your wishes will have come true. Yesss, someone appreciated the absolute Odyssey I wrote when you die. Thanks again and good luck!
Ohhh that's nice that you already have that! I'm also excited for when the files get unlocked, I have a bunch of bugs that needs to be fixed haha. Thanks and good luck to you too!
