This is such a cool idea.  I had a really hard time balancing everything, and there's definitely a steep learning curve.  When it goes right and you're able to chain things together, though, it feels really satisfying.  Graphics and sound could definitely use some polish, and I might recommend introducing spots on the grid slightly more slowly (it felt like there was a big step up when the grid filled in all at once), but there's a really cool core idea here, and I had fun with the time I spent with this one.  Great work!

Truly an awesome, creative experience with phenomenal pixel art, a cool soundtrack and a really interesting control scheme!!! I really like tetris so this spoke to me lol, I love that the spin pivots are realistic to tetris. Great stuff!

The idea is amazing and very well thought out. It was a little difficult to understand at first, but once you get into it, it's really enjoyable. If you keep developing it, I think it could become something even better. Great job!

This was great. Once you figure out how what spots on your control grid thing work it becomes very fun trying to carefully guide your way to the objective. It’s frustrating at first but it’s rewarding once you get going.

Developer

Thanks! I wanted it to have the feel at first that you were a pilot who had no clue what they were doing. Glad that seemed to come across.

Lovely game, took me some time to understand the controls, but eventually I got there. My only problem was that WASD and Q / E buttons seemed to not work, only arrows did, so I never understood how to rotate the shape : (

Weird. I'm betting itch had a hiccup. I've seen it lag out on commands when it's busy if you do the web versions.

super interesting control scheme: ive never really seen anything like it! very original and creative idea that could probably have a lot of different types of games made out of it, nice work

Submitted(+1)

The way you control the ship is very very unique. It feels a little frustrating to me but I can see the merits! Pretty good overall though

Your game is so cool and original! Great job, and well done implementing the spinning mechanic in a refreshing way! I barely hit any incoming meteorites, but they didn't get me either. That's a win in my book! I think it would be great if you would add more rhythm game mechanics. Something about the game feel and sound effects make me think of this. The movement panel already looks similar to a Dance Dance Revolution arcade machine's dancing pad. if you want to take any action, you'd have to do it following the song's beat/sequence. Maybe it's something you'd like to explore, keep up the great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, if i take it forward, I definitely need to pay attention to the soundtrack a lot. I got lucky with finding that song (even if it's now etched into my brain from all the playtesting!)

Literally an experience that cannot be cancelled. Love the music love the vibe cool game. UNIQUE.

This was a very unique game that I enjoyed very much. I was pretty lost and confused at the beginning and I kept moving towards the arrow, just for the arrow to teleport to the other side, and I thought I was going insane, until I figured it out. The visuals were very good, and so was the sound effects and music. Great game!

Wow, this was such a unique concept, I loved it! Incredibly overwhelming coming straight from the tutorial, I was really craving a spot that was empty just so I could get my bearings. (Although I suppose the "stop" area kind of serves as that...) I think if the icons were different colours, that would've helped a lot with quickly parsing what cells do what, rather than just relying on the shapes. Anyway, I successfully brought the cake fully intact, great job with this one!

Yeah, i agree on the icons needing a little more oomph. Game jam didn't give me enough time to play around with those enough, that's for sure. Glad you made it through and didn't ruin a party!

This game uses a REALY interesting control scheme.
I both love and hate it (in a good way).

I wish I had known the layout of the controls before picking my shape, but maybe that's just me.
The chance of picking a shape that definitely doesn't work is also kinda fun.

A unique idea executed well.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, a stretch goal if there was more time would be being able to update the control grid. Just didn't get that far down the list of things I'd like to get done. Glad you loved and hated it :P

Submitted(+1)

Could not operate with the controls well but I still mostly understood it, the idea of those being the controls is really cool. I also liked the art and soundtrack.

Submitted(+1)

cool idea, great art!

Developer

Thanks! My failed attempt at art school's paying off in pixel art assets these days :)

Submitted(+1)

the art is great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I've been doing a lot of pixel art top down for an RTS I've been working on, felt like good practice fitting it in here and working on my particle effects.

Submitted(+1)

I think this is a very neat concept, but I also think not one for me haha. I get sort of the same anxiety I get with Crypt of the Necrodancer that just stops me in my tracks. I love the art and I think this is such a neat concept, though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, it was a gamble that's for sure. More of a "could I make this control work." If I build it out, I'd make it more roguelite in nature, allow modifications of the grid or timing and such.

Submitted(+1)

Surprisingly requires very deep thought to analyse your situation at every moment and decide the button region to hover the shape onto! Great job at designing such complex & Enjoyable system :D

Submitted(+1)

I really love the idea of the control scheme but wow I could not handle it really. Maybe if the buttons you were highlighting were more visually distinct like different colors or something it'd be a bit easier to do things?

Developer(+1)

I found it easiest to alternate between moving and hitting the brakes myself. Could get it down to sub 2 mins a level even if the gates ended up being far apart. But yeah, I noticed the shield and sonar were pretty similar late into this and just couldn't figure out a good way to differentiate them for sure. I'll test out colors or such when I get a chance to come back to fleshing this out though!

Submitted(+1)

30 mins to beat the first map. I want my name on the world record <.<

I have no idea what I did xd Really hard to control the ship. Had to fully stop, move a pixel, stop. Major skill issue.

Developer(+1)

So... the grids and tetrominos are randomized, but the edges and the battery in the center are always there to try and offset that. Imagine how hard I had it when I started and everything was randomized!

Still, glad you stuck through it. Hopefully it gets easier on you, or if you have an idea, I'm open to them. Might make this into a full thing after I finish my RTS (or if I ever need a break).

Submitted(+1)

idk man. Just isnt my cup of tea ig. But is unique. If I could, I would definitely have movement separated from the other stuff. Generally would be more enjoyable and less confusing, for me. That is a major skill issue from my part tho x0 and gl regardless of what u do!

Very unique experience, quite cool the way the "Board" is set up in a way that the locations and patterns match function. It's good to see a unique concept!
