Hard games

But can be fun if you can handle it

Good job for making this game jam!!!

the intro to the game is very funny!! i like the reference. i wish there was a little more feedback when hitting and parrying; some indicators would be nice. idt the initial enemies should be able to stick on top of you after you get hit since the enemies can kill you from full health very quickly; an enemy stagger on hit would fix this. the boss projectiles are very fast and can hit you in the starting area , which is very annoying, especially since the visual response time is very quick. adding some indicator like the missiles in jetpack joyride would prob fix this issue. also early levels can be cheesed by sitting in the spawn room. overall good game!!!!!

The graphics are very funny.  The main character is adorable, and I love how comically huge the sword is in comparison.  Intro cutscene is great, too.  I would have like a bit more feedback when hitting / being hit (flashing, knockback, etc), but I love the extra touch of keeping the robot body parts around until you exit the level.

The combat is definitely hard.  Spinning and parrying timing is really tricky, but satisfying when you line everything up correctly.  I wish the camera was a little bit more zoomed out (or let me zoom in/out) so that I could get a better sense of upcoming enemies; as it stand now, I have to react pretty quickly to them.  I also feel like if the robots took away a little bit less health, that might remove some of the concerns about difficulty (there's a mean feedback loop where getting hurt makes the game harder by limiting your spin).

Sfx and music are solid, but the music loop is short enough that it gets a little repetitive over the course of a run.

All-in-all, I had a lot of fun with this.  I definitely struggled with the combat (and have not beaten the boss yet), but it was a good kind of challenge.  Nice work!

super funny story and very goofy main character! i suck at combat based games so i didn't make it very far but the mechanics were pretty fun :)

Super cool it lags on my computer a bit and the wall texture is not great but most of it is super cool!

Great game, i love the spinning mechanic of the sword and the “skill check” of the parry, felt so good! I wish it had more feedback when i hit an enemy, little bit of knockback. Enjoyed it alot!

Intro is 10/10 and  you made Garen game with Cloud Sword... also 10/10

I really liked the visuals, especially the combination of 3D models and 2D art in the cutscenes

Love the character design and the humor is great. Gameplay is fun, but some aspects of the combat can be a bit awkward, with the parry maneuver in particular.

This was a lot of fun! I like the design of the character, sword, and especially the enemy robots! I like the way the wizard squishes when he takes damage (and maybe other times too - one time I lost and he squished at me to establish dominance and it was great).

I'll echo what some others have mentioned that the game was pretty hard, with the snowballs from offscreen and sticky enemies being the toughest parts for me. I struggled with the parry mechanic but eventually kind of got it :) One thing I was a bit confused by visually was the way the enemies you have to parry carry their shields to one side, so I thought I just needed to swing from the other side, like Wii Sports or Skyward Sword. I'm not sure if there'd be a different way to draw their shields, or make them resemble the practice parry target. I probably should have figured it out since it was right after that tutorial, and I was only confused for a couple tries, so not a big deal either way.

I also liked the tutorial for movement and attacking built in as you progressed through the first level. I think that's a good way to do it!

I would die for this character. And I do, multiple times! The game is very tricky, and combat wise I would say it's pretty clunky; a lot of times you get stuck with enemies that outrun you with no stamina that just stick to you until your health is depleted, but everything surrounding it feels pretty dang good. The custom music was a nice touch too, albeit a tad repetitive. (It was made in bandlab right? that's what I use too, the drums sound like the bedroom kit.) The character is also super nicely animated for a jam game, 3D stuff is HARD and this checks all the boxes despite the short timeframe, although it could use a few extra splashes of color rather than grey boxes. Very charming work here!

Hey I love the concept and art style here, its very silly and unserious and intentionally goofy and I love that. The scene at the beginning with the wizard swooping in to steal food is especially funny to me but I think overall the game suffers from a kind of high bar of entry with its mechanics and slight jankiness. Linking HP to stamina really limits the players willingness to use the spin and the slowness of the attack means its usually quite difficult to start when being attacked. I think that these are minor mechanical errors which could be tweaked though, and overall the game really charmed me, so great work!

Nice game! I like the visuals and idea. But I think, design of the combat sometimes motivates the player to do unfun moves. For example, spinning starts very slowly, so you bascally have to run away if you see an enemy because there's no way to attak them instantly. And I feel like the fact that maximum stamina and HP are the same thing it motivates me to play too conservatively. But i clearly see how it can become significantly more fun with a few twiks. Nice job!

i love the character designs and concept, i think it is a bit too hard with some jankiness around the collisions and effects, but the idea of having the stamina and health being the same resource is really creative and challening! i would 100% play this if a full version were to be made that added some post-game-jam polish

Oooh look at me I'm a wizard I go round stealing burgers and casting fireball and spawning robots and I have too much HP. Grow up mate.

Fun game, the parry thing was interesting, would've liked to see it do more, like I dunno one-tap the wizard or something.
