Love the Artstyle. And the Intro too!
this art style is PEAK! I would play a longer version of this one for sure
This game was super fun!! I really love the vibe and could totally see myself playing a longer version of this for ages. Only thing I struggled with was figuring out where the second yoyo would hit.
Cute! Really fun style and art. I would say for the wheel to have some sort of animation or change in lighting to make the selected upgrade more visible. Camera movement was a little awkward; Did the thing where it would flick up or to the sides very violently and I ended up losing because I lost control of my camera. Other than that, super cute! The little guy who stabs you made me think of minecraft baby zombies...
I like the art style of this game, and I thought it was fun that the protagonist’s weapon, chosen by roulette was a yo-yo lol. Great job!
OMG this game has an insanely fun loop!! Super hard too! I try to make sure I get that second yoyo, but only because I play on a trackpad, and it is hard to right-click all the time. It’s fun to hit my yoyo on the wheel, too. You don’t understand the STRESS running from those GOONS. My gluteus is CLENCHED. EXCELLENT GAME. Those big guys were tough, but then my damage was up, and so were we. The shooters are still hard to hit, man. I also hit 2x yoyo twice? What that mean, I get a third one? Game is great. trackpad gaming 100.
Controls felt a bit clunky, I enjoyed the tone of the game and the way the guy said the phrase "silly doohickeys". Music got a tad repetitive, but overall the vibes were pretty awesome.
controls felt a bit difficult but AMAZING visuals
didn't enjoy it that much because i couldn't get used to the controls but i LOVE the aesthetic so much, it reminds me of mouse p.i for hire mixed with nubby's number factory and it's so good! voice acting was fun and BOY this is a VERY SERIOUS game.
Thank you for playing! Glad you like our VERY SERIOUS submission :) Sorry about the controls!
yoo good job on making this game, the opening cutscene was a good addition plus it was funny which is good lol, and the old film cartoony style was really nice too, with the blend of 2d and 3d, it was just good, now i'd say that the yoyo felt just a lil slow, especially when it comes back, so i think the retrieving speed of the yoyo should be a lil higher, even tho i noticed that it comes back to you faster if you attack an enemy close to you, also i felt maybe the enemies gets a bit too fast too quickly on each round? cuz with the slow yoyo attacks you just get cooked lol, but that's maybe cuz the wheel of absolutely standard proportions didn't help me XD, it would be nice if there was a text that shows you what upgrade you got, qol stuff yk, cuz everytime i need to tilt my head to read the upg i got lmao, also the game could use more sfx too to make it more "punchy" and more fun to play, i had fun juking out the lil stabby stabby guys since they were fast lol, and also i was confused when i spinning the wheel cuz i thought it picks the upg from the top but the pointer was actually in the bottom :') also the punches will always count even if you move away to "dodge" which feels a lil bit unfair :( and tbf i kept trying to see the ending of this cool game but sadly i kept dying and losing, but i'd love to see more of it B) and yeah you did good nonetheless :)
thank you so much for the review, genuinely most of what you suggested was something we were going to incorperate, but we just ended up being busy on the last day, particularly the sound effects and wheel clarity. we wanted to do silly enemy specific hurt sounds with our voices but yeah we didnt get to unfortunately. though the other things are very good points too and i will be taking them to heart!
also im glad you enjoyed it enough to keep playing, sorry you couldnt beat it.. ill admit it can be quite difficult.
I see yeah, I too was gonna do voice acting for the accountant in my game but didn't have time to do so, but y'all did your best and y'all were def passionate about this so I respect that
Incredible work! Love the use of theme here, a yoyo shooter was not on my list of games i expected to see this jam.
Great art, audio, the opening cutscene, the gameplay is smooth and simple. all of it is wonderful.
Thank you for playing, we are happy that you liked it!
The cutscene was outstanding. The art style is beautiful, and the voice acting really brought everything together. I had a great time playing!
We are very happy that you enjoyed it!
10/10 Visuals and voice acting.
Reminded of me of Mouse P.I. for hire lol
keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much!
The aesthetic is charming and love seeing the yo-yo rep. I especially enjoyed the sound effects. Those were so fun. Would love interaction with the wheel feeling a little more interactive and for it to be clearer to see what I got from it, but overall I had fun with the experience.
Thank you for playing! Unfortunately, we ran out of time in the end, a YoYo buff visualization would have been the next thing on our list.
You hooked me with that cinematic! Nice voice acting :)
I loved the animation too, especially the gunner's. He's got them WILD eyes!
Thank you for playing, we appreciate the nice words!
The intro cutscene is so well done!!!! The artstyle in general is hella creative, like the yoyo and arm animation is sick, how did u guys make that? Did u guys record and overlay? It works rly well. And I rly like the trees!
I love the little guys that jump on your face they are so funny!
Also, best audio ever. Super serious!
thank you so much for the immense praise, it means so much! also for the arm we recorded it in decent lighting, keyed out the background then removed a bunch of frames to make it snappy then yeah the rest is overlays.
Sick!!
What a great exposition! The jazzy music track is amazing, I'll always appreciate any jazz music in any kind of video game. The gameplay was also fun, though maybe a crosshair would've helped. The visual style of the game is beautiful, you guys mix a lot of mediums in a way that works surprisingly well.
best priase we could ask for! thank you for your comment! we did actually experiment with a crosshair but it didnt work too well with the yo-yo casting from the side, it would rarely reach the centre of the screen in combat, though I think given more time this would definately have been the next priority!
Love the visuals and music, the variety of enemies is also great! The yoyos can be a bit difficult to use, but I guess that's the point. Wish the game told you what stat increase you got, as it can be hard to read from the wheel.
Thank you for playing! Unfortunately, we ran out of time in the end, a YoYo buff visualization would have been the next thing.
Love the intro, very cinematic. Great concept too!
Thank you for playing!
