Really fun game, its really addictive to see towers flying on your way. Great gameplay loop ! well done !

That was a fun game^^

I like the overall setting and its humor :) (Cool animations on the characters^^)

For me it looks like u have a strong base to build up a whole game on. For the real powerfull feeling the must me much more stuff on the map that u can throw around and demolish. Trees, fences cars, ... everything! xD

Good work :)

Amazing job for your first jam! Hilarious concept and super fun! Btw you can add the option to fullscreen in the itch page settings instead of putting it in your game's menu.

I had no idea you could do that--- so, yes.. I absolutely will next time. *face palm*

yo i enjoyed this game alot lol, the gameplay loop was really nice and i was actually saying "bro this game has to have an endless mode or smth" and i was glad there was atleast a new game+, which is unexpected but i appreciate you adding it for sure, now like other people said if there was a lil bit more time to destroy prob even the whole city it would've been nice, cuz i did see that the upgrades let's you keep going a bit further, but i'd say the upgrades should've had a bigger impact that you can feel with every purchase you do yk, also if you did more sfx and prob music it would've made the game alot better, but yeah with a bit more polish this game prob has alot of potential ngl :) so good job really

Really nice gameplay loop, funny story, and its very satisfying destroying the city. However, more time destroying the city would have been nice.

This was a bunch of fun to play, and you got more that one chuckle out of me. Very enjoyable to go around and destroy the city, and the spinning up the tornado mechanic felt nice! You did great managing to create humor and a complete story!  Bravo!   On your first level, whatever cap you implemented on rpms speed ( pretty sure in the range of 4300 in most levels) is not capped and you can spin up to 10,000 or more I assume.  Also on that note it would be nice to have felt like the rpms achieved had a bigger impact on gameplay.   I would also say to extend the time the player can wreak havoc on the city. It is a lot of fun to be going around destroying things, and I think you did a fantastic job, but it would have been nice to be able to spend more time as the tornado.  As it stands it felt like a 50 50 split.  That can be the end of my notes though.  You did a great job and this was a bunch of fun to play through and a great jam submission.  It looks like you made most of the assets and stuff yourself and for that MANY extra kudos!! Hats off to you!! I had a bunch of fun playing :)

I agree with you there-- when I made it I knew all the tricks and upgrades (strength btw, haha) to get the best scores.. so I was worried it would be too easy, or pacing would be too slow. Hard to balance these game jams! But I am glad that most people are able to make it all the way to the end. Which was important to me.

Spin The Wind was a very neat surprise! It's a game style I wasn't expecting and it was rather fun to play. I think there were a few issues I noticed, one being that the payout $$$ didn't seem properly tied to the amount of destruction I did, like the 4th round I started with only 1000~ speed, hit a few buildings, still made $4k in payout. Another small bug, the final mission still awards you a perk but it's details are blank. Small bugs aside, the visuals complimented the game nicely and the UI and controls were easy to navigate.

Overall,  great submission! I think the only thing that would have made the game more "fun" would be if the tornado boosts worked a bit differently, like using them gave you a brief speed up + increased damage, and so there was an importance to timing them / using them right within the duration of your turn. The current mechanism of keeping the tornado alive longer unfortunately just turned into spamming space bar the entire turn to keep it going.

Outside of the review for your game, I enjoyed the story / background of the game with the mayor committing insurance fraud quite a bit as I live in Florida, and a Bowling Alley in my town had actually done this exact same thing with a hurricane! The story I heard is: the owner had burned the bowling alley down the night of the hurricane and tried to frame it on the hurricane for an insurance payout to revamp the place. Unfortunately, he was caught, and the bowling alley never re-opened. Worst part? I had just joined a local bowling team there two weeks before it happened LOL.

After reading the comments here I didn’t know that the game had any audio. I also got stuck on the first level as I didn’t how about the spin power thing at the start. after I understood that the game was fun, liked the destruction was pretty satisfying, I actually felt like I wanted longer in the levels. Didn’t know what the upgrades did but I bought them. game was fun, just a little rough around some of the edges, well done!

And the building goes weeee, pretty fun.

It took me some time to get out of the "mission failed" loop, I didn't spin to tornado, but once I figured that out, it was fun!

Great idea for the tornado destroying cities, was very satisfying destroying whole neighbourhoods.

Submitted

Cool idea! It was funny watching some buildings get rebuilt immediately after I destroyed them.

Thank you so much for reviewing my game-- I left you a review, I am serious when I said that. Your game was almost perfect. For my vibe when testing jam games. Clear goal, achievable, and enjoyable.

i lived in one of the houses, this mayor has my serious vote

Oh this is SO serious...

This is a great spin on the jam theme. Very satisfying to play although the tornado movement could maybe be a little quicker to make it more chaotic. I could definitely see this idea being developed further into a full game. Great job!

Destroying the building was very fun; I could see that being fleshed out into a full game.  As it stands, the missions aren't difficult, but it's very satisfying to watch the building fly away.  The control scheme for spinning up the tornado hurt my wrist a little bit.

The character art, voice acting, and dialogue were all superb!  All-in-all, a great jam entry.  I really enjoyed this one, and I want more!

Interesting take on the theme. I liked playing through this one. Unfortunately, there is no audio in this one: I would have loved to hear the buildings crush under the devastating wrath the mayor is sending upon its poor tax-paying citizens. Moving the tornado is a bit tough: I get why that is, but it feels a bit clunky. Other than that, pretty fun, also liked the perks and upgrades.

Good job :D

The levels could have been a bit harder, I never actually found the bonus zones for either one that had bonus stuff.

I also thought this didn't have any sound at all until I boosted my volume way above the normal 100% mark, at which point I thought the sound design here was good, it was just _way_ too quiet.
