This is peak. The mechanics are actually so fun. And don't even get me started on the visuals - they're beautiful they have so much character. The sound effects I also enjoyed. If I REALLY REALLY REALLY had to point out something it would be that the walking sound effect is a kinda too loud and the music is a bit too quiet (I barely noticed there was music until later in the game), but its really not that big a deal and everything else is amazing. Good job I love it.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate your feedback! Will definiteky have a look at sounds volumes for the post-jam version! <3
I really enjoyed the game , the mechanic is so will made
Thank you so much! 🙏
I like the idea, nice visuals polished to heck definitely a great submission. Only downside is that event ho the mechanic and movement is really fun, level was a bit barren, but other than that great execution congrats! If you have time we would be glad if you could check ours too!
Yayyy thank you so much! <3 Will definitely check your game!
I am a fan of this! It doesn't fit the theme extremly well,I mean the yoyo spins.... but yeah, a great game anyway!!
Thank you so much! 💪
I love it! You managed to turn a single mechanic into a very cute and polished game. Great use of the theme and a very fun experience. I'd love to see a full version to this!
thank you soo muchhh!!!! ^_^
this is a super cute little game, nice work, i love the spider animations and walking sounds, it feels really fun to swing around and the art style feels very cohesive great work
thank youuu !! <3
Had a lot of fun! Super charming and unique in both art and gameplay. The YoYo and swinging mechanic are super fun to use. Amazing job!
William is so cute! Fun, good-looking game. I loved all of the details in the background; the snow globe was especially cool (no pun intended).
omg thank you!!! I loved your puzzler!
Great game, fun take on the theme :D
Congrats on the graduation
hehehe, thank you!
very unique mechanic with a yoyo. It work as grappling hook. I like platforming games with grapling hook mechanic. So i enjoyed to play this game too. and also I found that spider design so cute ^^
Thank you ^_^. It was a pain in the ass to animate the little guy but we're happy with how he turned out :P. Also we completely forgot to address the right click in the game as a mechanic as it is literally a grappling hook (web) xD
This is so much fun lol I feel like I got so fast with the yoyo mechanic! Love the chill music and the sound of his little legs walking. All around really cool entry.
Btw, the fast noise in the splash screen almost gave me a heart attack because I thought my speakers were off haha
xD we just thought it would be a cool placeholder for a sound and we just went with it haha. Anyways, thank you so much !! :D
A really fun game with a neat mechanic!
Thank you! :)
The movement mechanic was so smooth and satisfying!
The way the instructions were written was very easy to understand how to use the YoYo. Also loved the book titles lol
Thank you so much :D!
Duude the atmosphere is so well done, everything adds to the game in such a nice cohesive way! I love the creative titles of everything lmaoo, and the poster, and the cool custom cursor. It's sick how the candle is like a jump boost. And the footstep audio sound effects were a really nice touch. And the menu having the falling hats is awesome, I love all the attention to detail!! Also, I rly wanted to help William so I got him all his hats yay :)))
I also love the intuitive tutorial and mechanics. The whole game makes the yo yo feel so cool! By the way how did you make the yoyo code? Was it like spring physics? And how did u make the string? It felt rly smooth!
Thanks a lot! :) For the rope physics I used a naive ik kinematics implementation with damping, a technique that was used (and abused) in countless Flash projects back in the day. As for the yo-yo and spider physics, we found it by chance through lots of trial and error :)
Ooo IK is pretty clever I wouldn’t have thought of that, sick!
Really nice visuals, I love the game mechanics though it was hard figuring out at first, I thought we were supposed to fling with the yoyo not launch ourselves. I really enjoyed it tho!
thank you so much!!!
Cool idea and concept
thank you! :)
