The spider looks like Joltik! :D

Sadly I couldn't get across the momentum gap. My ears were a bit lonely. However the idea was really smart, it's a shame i got skill issued and couldn't finish the game! The visulas were nice too.

Fun idea and game. Good job to the team.

This was a really cool idea and interpretation of the Jam theme, and a really fun platformer! My only complaint is that aiming the webs was a little tricky at times, but otherwise I had a great time with this one.

Submitted

Really creative!! I haven't seen any other spider games in the whole jam so far!!

Developer

Thank you!!

Really cool game! I love the idea, but I just wish it was longer since the one level was so good. It took me a couple of tries to get across the momentum gap, but I was able to make it. I had fun playing this! Great job!

Developer

Yeahh we'll definitely make it longer if we work on it more, we both had life stuff swamp so we didn't get a chance to expand on it D: thank you so much for enjoying!

Submitted

It feels absolutely amazing to swing with the webs, and I hope to see you expand on the idea!

Submitted

nice interpretation and movement feels great, good job :)

Developer

Thank you very much

Submitted

Really promising and really good for your first game!

Developer

Thank you!!

This is  a very cool idea, and the motion feels good. It took me a couple dozen attempts to get across each gap, but I think that it was just me having trouble, not anything wrong about the game. It would have been very cool to see this taken past the tutorial level.

Developer

Thanks! It's not just you. There are a few things I've identified that make it more difficult than it should be and I'll fine tune them if I work on the game some more.

Submitted

Good entry! The concept is clear and you can see the potential of this.

Just 2 simple sfx were something that i miss. GJ

Developer

Thank you! I will work on getting some audio into my next project, or if I revisit this one.

Submitted

I left more comments on your actual page but intresting take on the theme idk many people who went the spider route. This as a vertical slice of a game is good and was fun to pllay just controls are way tooo fast :<

Submitted

Very unique and creative. It was difficult to aim but great job!

Developer

Thank you!!

I really like that mechanic, very unique as well! Great work!

Developer

Thanks!!

This is a creative take on the theme, which makes it stand out. The mechanic was enjoyable, nothing is better than having unique traversal in a platformer.  Some simple audio effects would have been nice though.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Audio is a next step if I decide to work on this more.

the web aiming was difficult but nonetheless very enjoyable as a mechanic,,  alongside the art style your take on the theme was really really cool and i would be really pumped to see how the game evolves if its something you are gonna pursue!! great jobb :P

Developer

Thanks! The web aiming is definitely something that can be fine tuned in the future and I'd love to fully utilize it with some more levels.

Submitted

Fun game mechanic idea. I would love to see it fleshed out and polished. The art is beautiful! Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks!! I might revisit the project in the future to flesh out the mechanics, and actually use them with some more levels.

I DID IT!!!
The momentum feature was fun and challenging. But the web shooting felt unnecessarily hard to aim. Overall it was fun. Keep up the great work.

Developer

Thanks! If I revisit this project I'll work on making the aiming a little easier.

Submitted

Your did it! I would love some audio, and for it to be a bit easier to feel when you are aiming at the right spot, since the grab spots are so small. This could be really fun expanded into something bigger.

Developer

Thanks!! I agree with you on the grab spots being hard to hit. My implementation for the grab spots was a little jank so it was hard to increase the hit boxes without breaking them. Definitely something I will fine tune if I work on this more.

Positives

  • I love the more unconventional interpretation of the theme
  • I really enjoyed the momentum aspect of the game, and the gravity of the webs
  • Good level design for a first/tutorial level
  • No found bugs, aside from the joltik

Needs work

  • Would love some audio

Overall, a fun, albeit short, game. The lack of audio takes away from depth, but audio is a tough thing for a game jam, so it's understood

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!! Audio is definitely something I would would like to implement next time I work on a game jam.
