Liked the sounds, the visuals, but it was too hard for me haha.
I think the leaderboard got hacked or something? i couldn't see it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'll make sure to add a difficulty slider/option in future projects. The leaderboard is still there, might have been a connection issue when you tried it out.

Submitted(+1)

super satisfying to play!! really love the visuals and sounds; it was all a very hypnotic experience. i thought i did okay but WOW the high scores on the leaderboard are. much higher

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! And yea, some people really tried getting a high score haha

Cool concept, unfortunately too hard for me.

Loved the visuals and the sound effects though!

The game atmosphere feels very neat and is really well polished! Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I plan on adding some difficulty sliders/modes in my future ideas.

I LOVED this!! I was struggling at first, but when I realized that it works best by using it like an actual rotary phone and spinning the hole from the number to the pin? Oh man, it all clicked and felt SO GOOD. I made it to Rank 10 on the leaderboard, so we'll see how long I stay up there lol.

The only thing that tripped me up is that if I tried rotating the wheel before it reset to original position, it usually got stuck and/or rotated weirdly. This might be intentional if you're not supposed to rotate it before it resets, but with the time limit and longer sequences I reeeeally felt like I needed to spin during that period. Idk if that's just a skill issue on my part tho. Great game, absolutely knocked it out of the park!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The janky rotation when it's returning is not intentional, I couldn't figure out a way to solve it, the issue is caused by the tween still rotation to return the dial and being forcibly stopped by the user holding it, as the behind the scenes is still decreasing, it leads to some odd rotations.

And yes, treating it as a real one and going with the cursor on the holes is the best way to go. There's even some 'skip' moves you can do from numbers 1 to 5 where if you drag them straight to the stopped they'll rotate just fine, so you save a lot of time there.

Submitted(+1)

That makes sense, classic game dev bug! :P You may have already tried this, but if you cache the tween as a variable somewhere, you can call tween_variable.kill() when the user grabs the dial to make the tween stop prematurely. I had to do something similar in our game when combos or rounds end early and we reset all of our PathMoving2Ds.

I'm gonna have to try the 'skip' strats, it's addicting trying to get on the leaderboard!

Visuals and audio are crazy good! It's really engaging though I found it really hard :<< maybe a skill issue but who knows lol

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll think of adding some difficulty levels in my future games, it was an easy thing to add, but I didn't even think about it initially.

Submitted(+1)

Well made game, all of it its great, good gameplay, audio, the visuals are so good! Im impressed of the scores in the leaderboard, people are crazy :O

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! And yea, it's gets pretty hard to score as the game goes haha

Awesome game ! I love the menu and the pixel art in general ! My favorite game so far ! The scope is simple but the pulish is here ! Wonderful job !

This game cured my ADHD.

Also I got #1 on the leaderboard!!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I was eagerly waiting for someone to get the #1 spot haha

Great, consistent visual identity. I loved the office chatter noises. I got a leaderboard score but some of those scores are wild, how do they do it!? Excellent choice to include the phone on the title screeen so we can figure out the mechanics before starting.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! A lot of people were having issues figuring out how to use the phone haha, so I just left a copy of it outside of the game loop to help. For the high-scores, you need to get to the higher difficulties, then it starts ramping up scores very fast.

Fun game with good visuals/vibe. I think this could be even more fun on mobile.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! It didn't even cross my mind to make it mobile compatible, thanks for that reminder, I'll keep a note to try to add that to future projects!

Dude, I love the aesthetics. Good way to turn a somewhat boring activity into a fun competitive challange.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you loved it!

Great little game! I'm old enough to have had one of these in our old house growing up. Really great idea and execution on the concept. I read the instructions, but with my real-world experience, I found it all immediately intuitive and well-designed. Bravo!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I also had one when I was younger, used to play around with it without dialing to anyone, so when I saw the theme I immediately had some flashbacks and had to put it on my game.

The almighty wheel selected your game to be showcased in my latest YouTube video! Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for making the game! I really liked the feel of it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for reviewing it! I also could see that bug on your submission, still figuring out what might have hapened there.

Of all the dialing games I've played this is by far the most solid. It's very complete in its presentation. Perhaps a bit lacking in variation but for what it is - a really great submission! All the aesthetics is really well put together, and I love that the general tone of the game followed from the itch-page, through the menu and into the game. I am most impressed by the completeness of the package here. :D Well done!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I ended up running out of time to implement more game mechanics, wanted to deliver a good presentation and ended up lacking some extra-features.

This Gameplay is very funny. Love everything about it.

The art style is great and the Audio fits in really good.

The only thing that annoyed me a bit is, that it turns back slower, when you dial a 1 compared to when you dial a 0.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The back speed accel is the same for all numbers, it looks a little bit faster due to distance, but it's always the same, and as the difficulty increases, it gets faster and faster.

Very cool game! The gameplay is simple yet really fun. I liked the background sounds they fit so well lol. The visuals are great! Really well made!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Was looking forward to playing this from the moment I saw it in the comments! Love the tactile feel of the rotary wheel, and the gameplay was stressful but not frustrating. I couldn't write my name into the score box for some reason. I got 343, is that any good? Great effort, really fun!

Developer(+1)

Thank for the feedback! And thanks for letting me know about that name issue, I didn't run into it but I'll take a look at what might have happened.  343 would have put on on the 9th place!

This is cool, and I'm definitely a fan of this type of game. Games that stress you out a little are always a good time. Overall this is a good submission with great visuals and audio design. Spinning the dial to enter a sequence is an interesting take on the theme as well. Definitely stands out to me. For feedback I think the time per sequence is a little short and that felt a bit jarring to start the game. I would recommend starting with a higher amount of time and maybe slightly reducing it as you play, or making it so that you have a set amount of time and you need to process as many sequences as possible in that time. For example in a game like Papers Please, every day is a certain length and you're encouraged/rewarded to move as fast as possible. I think another quality of life change would be making the dial snap back immediately after you input a number.

Developer(+1)

That idea of a time/day instead of per round is interesting, would probably work well if I added some sort of daily quota or goal, and then score accordingly, might give it a try in the future post-jam. For both the timer and return time of the dial, they get increasingly faster as the difficulty increases, at level 9, the dial is almost instant return. I left it at a slower pace first so people would get used to the "Don't rotate it during a return", and to make the overall pace slower, then more chaotic.

Thank you so much for the feedback!
