Good Execution! I like the take on the theme and enjoyed the game systems, a little more juice would be nice though. Visuals are coherent, audio is alright. Everything felt pretty serious. Great Work!
Thanks for your comment! I completely agree that the game needs more juice, but unfortunately we weren't able to add it before the deadline. I'm glad you liked it though.
Good entry for the jam. The art is pretty, the audio is good as well. I did struggle a lot early on and lost a few runs even though I played almost optimally (I think). Might be a skill issue on my part. Good work!
Thanks so much for your comment! To play optimally, you have to pay attention not only to the timing, but also on the monsters you hit. If you want to deal maximum damage, you have to use damage monsters. The slime always gives 30% at level one, so it's the safest bet, The ogre, goblin and minotaur are all RNG, although you can upgrade the chances. The rats do not give you damage, they give you shield instead, so hitting rats is the most useful when you're low on health. The amount of shield also varies with their level, so if you're really low on health and there's a LV 3 rat in the field, you should think of a line up that will hit it and the elite enemies at the same time so that you can tank the next turn. We weren't able to properly explain these aspects of combat in game, so I understand if it wasn't clear to you. Thanks for your feedback though.
I loved the implementation of the theme! Having to time your attack instead of just selecting an area gives it a nice extra touch appropriate for a roguelike!
Thanks a lot for your comment! I'm glad you liked it.
Ah so there's another game on here called samsara cycle that has pretty much the same rotation mechanics but still plays completely differently, very interesting! This is quite literally the most spin-like combat system I have ever seen! :P
The art and music are cute too! I got no real notes tbh.
Great job!
Good idea! It took me a while to understand how to handle the different mechanics, but once i did, it was pretty fun!
Thanks for your comment! I'm happy you had fun
Really fun to see a turn-based combat game in a jam! You really embraced the spin to win theme! Challenging, but very fun!
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you had fun.
Damn a turn based combat with multiple different levels, enemies and weapons in gamejam ! ,really well done, i liked it !!
Thanks a lot for you comment! I'm really glad you liked it.
Really unique turn-based attacking concept, a bit difficult for me, definitely not my type of game to usually play, but it looks well made!
Think it could do with a little more consistency when it comes to the art direction specifically when it comes to the enemy and player character style, feels a bit jarring compared to the environment. Aside that, cool entry!
Thanks for your feedback. We're not professionals and we are learning as we go, so our art can always improve. But thanks again for your comment.
Very cool game, I love having a combo work out. Art, sound and music are also all very nice, which is especially important for a game where you sit with it for a long time as you plan your moves and progress through the campaign.
Thanks a lot for your comment! I appreciate it.
Super cool! The Origami King battle system makes so much sense for this jam, and you replicated it perfectly! Also super cool how the deckbuilding is in the form of the monsters you're fighting, very interesting concept.
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you had fun.
I really like this take on the theme! The art was really well done and I loved the music. Arranging the enemies so your weapon can hit them is really fun too. I really liked this game! Great job!
Thanks for your comment! I'm really glad you liked it.
Really cool concept for the spinning theme!
One small tipp: Z isn't the same key on all keyboards :)
Thanks for your comment. We could have better controls, and those wouldn't be the final ones, but by the end of the jam we forgot to change it so they stayed in the final build. Thanks for the feedback.
Nice visuals and audio for sure. I liked the mechanic. If I were to change anything, I'd ease players into the mechanic early on, so like less enemies, probably more weighted to be easily arranged while the player figures it out. Took me a couple of tries before I didn't feel overwhelmed by the number of enemies. Good take on this overall though!
Thanks for your comment! Too many enemies in the earlier battles is one of the major complaints we're getting. We opted against it due to the fact that lesser enemies was making the line up harder, as we have no guarantee that lining up all the enemies will be possible every time, but we see now it probably wasn't the right idea. Thanks for your feedback.
A bit confusing for the first 3 minutes, but then it becomes more fun. Great game!
Thanks for your comment! We planned on having tutorial levels but time was running short so we rushed that aspect of the game. But I'm glad you had fun.
Really fun game! I liked the unique mechanics and how you combined strategy with the spinning theme. The visuals were nice, and the different weapons and enemy interactions kept the gameplay interesting.
Thanks a lot for your comment! I appreciate it.
This was a really neat idea! That said, I'm not sure if it's the control scheme, the idea of the game, or the impementation, but each battle ended up being kind of laborious.
Like, in slay the spire, if you have your deck set up well you can play your turn quickly by flicking cards out there. In this game, even the easist battle requires a bunch of adjustments and swapping between modes and weapons.
Thanks for your comment! We'll think of ways to make the easier battles end faster, but right now the only thing I can come up with is dealing more damage and killing all elite enemies in one turn. Thanks for your feedback though!
This was a funny experience it was really funny play as juniper, the visuals are really well made and the gameplay is really funny and the sfx complements really well the gameplay
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks a lot for your comment!
Overall, a great, fun, and very polished game! The sounds and visuals were VERY lovely as well. Loved the Slay the Spire vibes with the map as well. Very solid, Great Job!
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you had fun
Fun! Firstly, the visuals are amazing. The gameplay was difficult to get a hang of, but very fun also. I really like the wheel mechanic. Overall, great game.
Thanks for your comment! I appreciate it
The gameplay reminded me of Paper Mario: The Origami King; the art is great as well
Thanks for your comment! Origami King was one of our main inspirations.
