Nice clean game with a satisfaying drifting, good stuff.

Loved the music change with each car, also the drifting feels pretty good!

Super fun concept, the motion sickness toggle takes it to the absolute next level. I feel like I'm 17 and about to get beaten with a golf club by Chevy Chase in Caddyshack.

Drifting feels incredible. Amongst the cars the green felt the best, it had the perfect blend of speed and control. Really liked the soundtrack, felt like it fit the game play really well.

The only feedback that I have is that the 3rd camera option felt like the only viable option for me. I actually really liked the feel of the first camera, but the motion sickness onset was pretty fast, so I had to switch it.

Overall, really good experience!

Thanks a bunch!

Felt very good to play. I especially liked the extra scoring for donuts, close misses, etc... Very nice, good job :)

Had a lot of fun playing, would love a level selection to be able to retry levels with specific cars. I did find the bounce on hit a bit unforgiving in some cases where I would just get stuck bouncing until the car broke.
Great job with the game

Developer

Thanks! And yea, the bounce on hit system was a last minute fix to a difficult problem ("if you can't stop/reverse, how do you prevent getting stuck on a wall?"), and unfortunately I couldn't find a system I was happy with.
Level selection is a great idea!

The game has tight controls despite being very fast paced. Nice job on striking that balance! I enjoyed the fun and colorful visuals. Sadly, I could only play for a few minutes before I had to stop because I’m very prone to motion sickness (I tried both modes, just couldn’t do it).

Developer

Motion sickness has been my biggest enemy this jam haha, I'm sorry neither of the accessibility modes worked for you

Honestly, a lot more fun than I was expecting from a seemingly simple premise. The first run I didn't realize I could use the handbrake (I just didn't read lol) and it got 10x more fun after that, great job!

Developer

Thanks!

Man i was not expecting that from this game! This was fun and got me playing for a little while. I did find that you could get near miss points even if you hit a wall or something. Good job, good game!

Appreciate it! and thanks for the bug report

Valet Anyway is a game where you play as a valet driver who has a need for speed (and dough), making some insane moves while collecting some cash before parking your ride.

The gameplay loop is solid, the car feels good to drive, and the soundtrack makes you want to do all the sickest drifts. The car is absolutely spin-to-win off the get go, I opted for the (third?) accessibility option to keep the camera locked and let the car do all the spinning. The primary loop of parking the car is great, and the secondary loop of collecting the loot and making sick moves enhances the gameplay up a degree. I love the squash and stretch of the car while turning/drifting, reminds me of the old Miniclip days...

Some (hopefully) constructive criticism:

-For the default camera, it might be worth damping. A.K.A have a bit of lag on the camera turning before the car does, and smoothed out a bit. I think? Option 2 does this a bit, but I think having the default option smooth and increasing the damping would go a long way towards making the default mode more playable.

-Personally (so take this with the grain of salt it deserves), I think requiring a base score before parking and allowing the player to park whenever they're ready would play a little smoother than sticking a timer and a parking spot on the player halfway through the gameplay. Maybe start the timer at the beginning of the run and have a time bonus instead for the faster folks?

-A windowed mode would be lovely. Got a little flashbanged with the insta-fullscreen in my web browser XD

Overall great game, great replayability, and a great style with it. Well done!

I really really appreciate the in depth feedback, thank you!
I think you're totally right about the camera. It wasn't till I uploaded a prototype build and someone left a comment that I found out the camera was nausea-inducing, so the accessibility settings were a very last-minute thing. I think what you described for a camera system would work really well, I might upload a build with that in the future.
As for the gameplay structure, I don't think I gave it the thought it deserves, it was basically just an implementation of the first thing I thought of. Having the structure separated out by requiring a base score I think would be a fair improvement.
And apologies for the flashbang!

At it first it seemed like it would be a very basic game I would be done with in a few minutes. But playing trough it I enjoyed it so much more then i expected! It reminds me of the times I used to play random games on y8 or other websites as a child.

The changing cars with different speeds and grips was really fun, though it seemed like 2 car is way harder then 3 and 4 for some reason

Overall a very enjoyable and SERIOUS game, while it looks simple, the gameplay is very fun.

Developer

Thanks a ton!

I like the idea of the game but at the end of the day I could only play for a couple levels because the motion was giving me a headache, I think the drifting mechanic and score system and UI were all quite good though!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Was it sickening even with motion sickness mode turned on?

It's a really cool game, although I did find the cars way too fast sometimes, especially the second one
