Very well made game! Here is my honest review:
Pros
Cons
My suggestions/improvements
In overall I really liked your game. I hope you will continue to manage it further and release a full game. If you didn't understand something from what I have said, feel free to ask me.
Kept getting ice wheels! Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!
I really like how you spin for different parts and buffs. It fits the theme well while keeping things fresh for car race. The visual style is cool, and having different terrain and challenges in each level is neat too. Solid work!
I like the abilities/powers
This was super impressive for a one-week jam game. The roulette system for car parts and abilities is a really fun use of the theme, and it makes each run feel chaotic and unpredictable. I liked experimenting with weird combinations like different wheels, wings, rockets, and other upgrades. The world, level design, tutorial billboards, and visuals were also really strong.
My main feedback is that the car handling felt a bit clunky at times. I think a more arcade-like controller with snappier turning and acceleration would make the game feel smoother, especially with some of the more chaotic part combinations. There were also some browser performance issues, but overall this was ambitious, creative, and really fun. Great work!
Very well made! I didn't know how to get past the first tutorial part but I got it eventually :) I also liked the roulette. Nice entry!
I really like the roulette for the car parts and ability, It's such a cool mechanic for a game like this! I can definitely see that being a really chaotic and fun thing to do for a party game or something. Very well done!
I like the game and you did so much for just 1 week! Like others said the car mechanics felt hard to control but I had fun nonetheless. Great job!
Nice!
Cool concept, it fits well with the theme and I could see a lot of fun a whacky variations for the car! I did have trouble turning, but I appreciate you just spawning the car back on the road instead of restarting the game. Good job!
Great game! The car felt clunky to control but I think it's intentional. The customization felt great and I love what you did for the tutorial. Just had some performance issues but very few
Why did you have to put a skate park! I spent like the first 10 minutes trying to grind the rail xD. But seriously, the game has so many fun elements. the different care types and abilities, like bouncy or rockets, were great. I also really like how you put the instructions on the billboard in the beginning, that was a nice touch. However, I did struggle with turning.
I really liked how every car part changes the way you approach the level. Getting strange combinations like wings, different wheels, or other upgrades keeps each run unpredictable and makes experimenting a lot of fun.
The visuals and level design are also very impressive
Hey this is crazy impressive for the jam! I ended up as a car with ice wheels and wings for a while! What a frustrating combination. That was a really nice spin on the theme! This was crazy ambitious, the level design was great, the atmosphere and physics were great... You guys already know about the car controls :P Good stuff super impressed!
This was really fun! the levels felt difficult but fair, and the graphics are really well suited for the game. The car is a little clunky to control, and the physics system did slow down the game in browser, but overall this is a really nice game, especially for just a week!
I enjoyed the game, although the car controls felt a little awkward to me at first. I think I might have preferred slightly more arcade-like handling with less emphasis on realistic physics. 😄 However, once I got used to the controls, driving became much easier and felt pretty good.
I also really liked the game introduction and the overall design of the game world.
It looks great but when the car driving feel was not there
If this was actually done in 7 days, its insane! The car physics are a bit wonky, but overall this is very cool. Also love the graphics!
I thought the game was cool and had a great concept, but between the very heavy load times and freezes that I imagine can be attributed to shaders loading, and some combinations of car parts that are really frustrating to play with, I jumped from having fun to not having fun to having fun again, but then not.
THe game has great qualities, I think the art is cool and cozy, the concept is great, the car parts are original, but there are too many elements that are problematic for me to enjoy this game as much as I could have.
Good work though!
It looks, sounds and feels great - when it works. When the car controller breaks, it gets frustrating. Still - it's super fun to play.
