Very well made game! Here is my honest review:

Pros

  • Very fun and unique gameplay
  • Deck (ammo) building fits the game very well
  • Revolver shooting reminded me that old game where you shoot ducks on TV
  • SFX and music are really good
  • A lot of various ammo types
  • Tooltips of what each ammo does
  • I accidentally healed enemy
  • I built broken inventory: 1 heal, 1 additional ammo, 3 stun ammo, 2 damage ammo (that damage 3 hp)

Cons

  • When bullets share the same color (for example common red bullet and shotgun bullet), you can't distinguish them after you place them into barrel
  • Just some bugs: you can delete all bullets in deck :)
  • Second bug: common healing bullet heals 2 hp instead of 1
  • Third bug: sometimes after killing an enemy it says that you have 0 bullets remaining and you still can shoot one
  • Fourth bug (looks really fun) how to reproduce it:
  • 1. Fill barrel with 6 bullets
  • 2. After using your turn drag them from barrel back to your inventory
  • 3. When your bullets in inventory exceed limit, they become giant. I tried everything to remove it, but nothing helped, needed to restart

My suggestions/improvements

  • It would be better to also see tooltip about bullets when you need to choose bullet types (after winning round) not after you have chosen it
  • Add minimum limit of bullets in full inventory, so players won't remove all bullets. Or you can do this: on button adding menu you have 3 (or more) actions. Actions: either you add button to inventory or you remove button from inventory.

In overall I really liked your game. I hope you will continue to manage it further and release a full game. If you didn't understand something from what I have said, feel free to ask me.

Really good game man! I love the concept and it works really really good, tho at some point I kinda had a bug where the objects just got giant, and I couldn't see anything

I had so much fun!

Wow, that was genuinely amazing!

This game is way underrated; it's so well crafted and has some really cool ideas! The presentation is just top-notch, every action oozes juice, the art style is great, and I absolutely loved the double-shooting mechanic (although it took me some time to realize that I have to shoot at my own heart to heal myself). The variety of bullets is very impressive. I like how different they are mechanically and how nicely they are drawn.

Wonderful work, bravo!

Definitely one of my favorite games in this jam.
The music and art are incredible, and the gameplay is solid.
Its shockingly polished for 7 days.

The spinning barrel mechanic works really well.
Unlike games in this jam with a similar idea, this one uses timing rather than randomization which I think is a lot less frustrating for the player.
The gameplay is really easy to learn, but the levels get pretty hard and the player has to keep trying in order to learn what the bullets do in order to get an optimal build so they can progress further.

That being said, I found it really frustrating that sometimes you just couldn't win off the bat because you got unlucky with the bullets you drew. Perhaps you could add a redraw mechanic that has a hard to hit timing minigame?

Well done!

Very fun game! The reveal of the spinning hat was peak! The concept/mechanics are genius! Great job :D

Super interesting game right off the bat! As someone else commented I did run into the bullet enlarging bug and I did wish when adding new bullets the UI would show what they do, but otherwise extremely solid! I would genuinely buy a game like this on steam!

Great game! Solid gameplay concept, interesting bullet types and decision opportunities for the player to consider. Nice art and sound design! I love it!!!

There is a bug though, not sure how but when I picked up a bullet, it randomly grew very large and started taking up the whole screen, the shaking didn't help either lmao. Also when choosing the next bullet type to add after a fight, their descriptions didn't show for me. Other than that, the game is amazing!

Very solid! quite tricky to play on trackpad as I've only got my laptop atm but apart from that banger soundtrack and very nifty gameplay loop.

Very enjoyable!  I like the visuals and the idea of how the different bullets work!

Great game! Very interesting gameplay.

My only quibble is that I should know what the bullets I pick up between levels do before I pick them up.

Otherwise, I had a great time. I'd love to play a full, finished version of this game!

Epic game man, love those graphics, what software do you use for the art? Slick, well put together and def the most complete game i've played in the jam. Really good!

Thank you so much Mr Flash! The pixel art was made in Aseprite. The 3D revolver was modeled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter.

Visuals and music are great, and I really love deck builder games. It was fun to be thinking about my next move at all times. I think some balancing adjustments would do this game wonders! I would like to try out this game again if you continue working on it. That one screen where you choose the next bullets to add to your deck would really benefit from having a description at the top right I think. Overall this is a very solid game!

Really enjoyed y'all's game! The visuals, sound, and aesthetic are super rich and incredibly readable. Getting into the game was also fairly easy; I didn't find myself having trouble with what to do. I think some small additions might add to the game as it is now. Sometimes I wanted to empty the shells I loaded, and other times, I had trouble remembering what a specific shell did when selecting it to add to my "deck". Nitpicking, the game is fun!

Developer

Thank you for your kind review. We had other changes that made the game more clear and polished, but we didn't submit it on time. After the voting period ends, you should try the new version! It has different enemy types, a boss, and even more JUICE!

glad to see im not the only one with a gun game, and you clearly did much better.

the art and music is INSANE, i cant believe you did this alone in a week. The gameplay loop is genius and genuinely fun, and everything in this game is done with attention to the very last detail. this game is closer to five stars from me than any game in this jam. perfect!
