I really enjoyed helping out in such a serious situation!

It looks great, and I always love a silly serious setting like this to go with the actual gameplay. Audio is the only thing I missed, but even so, this is really well done.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for taking this so seriously!  ;)

The art and animations look nice ,

but i strongly suggest adding some visual cue to let the players know when an animal is falling off the wagon. i had a slight issue finding out where each animal fell from, though it wasn't too much of an issue

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

I really like that idea, some sort of visual indicator like that would have gone a long way for sure. While we intended the wheel sizes to be the main ways to communicate what animal belongs where, I really like the idea of a cue like that reinforcing that pattern more before they fall off.

Thanks again!

This perfectly captures how difficult it is to do laundry! ໒( ⇀ ‸ ↼ )७ I could totally see this going further by adding in extra levels where you have to maintain multiple washing machines at once (similar to Spin Cycle Exorcist, another game in this jam) for extra difficulty!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! This will definitely be a foundation to work off some further game design if we end up taking it a bit further.

Spin Cycle Exorcist was so cool! That game absolutely kicked my butt though lol

Submitted

Great job! "I don't know why" but I was instantly really good at this game, fellow landry-dev

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad it clicked :D

Cheers to gaming laundry and not real life laundry lol

Submitted

Yeah, no, not the real life laundry! Probably we joke about it because we are afraid of it, we know that is something very Serious and we want just Exorcise it ;)

Submitted

Super fun game! I didn't realize I had to hold the button on the washing machine but once I did I was really enjoying the gameplay. I want more levels of this!

Developer

It's very motivating to hear this! My initial thoughts after the jam was to let this be as is, but I could also stand to stretch some more design muscles with more levels (and music!)

Thank you so much for playing!

It was really fun running this very serious laundromat. The game lacks a bit of polish, especially regarding the audio. But honestly, the game is great.

Developer

I’m always thrilled to know the fun landed :)

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

Please let Mr. Serious know I WAS taking this seriously.
I feel a lot of judgement coming from someone operating an enterprise that I believe should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau, IRS, AND PETA.

But then again who hasn't felt those pre-date jitters and needed someone to simply STEP UP and keep the lights on in their cash-only, captive-wildlife-powered side business?
I will not throw stones. Plus I'm too busy picking up frogs, mice, and wild hare anyways.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

LOL when you say it like that maybe his establishment does require a serious investigation. I think he would respect that idea, but at the end of the day he's a serious man with a serious establishment! I think the animals get a living wage?

Thank you so much for playing, and for the laugh!

Funny idea presented really well with the visuals and animations!

I found it quite difficult to hold the washer button while maintaining the power, so as others have mentioned, could revisit the balance there.

I never in a million years would have come to this with the theme of "Spin to Win", very unique idea.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

I totally understand that difficulty, it could be a pain even when I was just trying to test things lol. There are some small things I added to not totally be an absolute butthole to the players, but I also had the benefit of "getting" some strats by being so close to the game. The initial win score was 40 lol, 30 seemed a little bit more reasonable and even that can be hard!

I'm glad the difficulty didn't overshadow the other elements you enjoyed, thanks again for playing!

Love the animations and art style of the game. The direction you took with "spin to win" is unique and very serious. I do wish there were audio and visual queues however. I was able to pick up on having to click on the washer but a tutorial would be good to add due to the lack of queues. Overall I really like the creativity and visuals!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback!

I highly recommend checking out Blue's work, she's an incredible artist and truly brought this game and my visions to life in a way I am just straight incapable of lol.

Audio and more visual queues really would have done so much, that omission was a result of time constraints but this sort of feedback is very helpful for emphasizing how important and desirable it really is. Next time I'm getting a composer/sound designer!

Thanks for helping out Mr. Serious, and thanks for playing!

The visuals look so good! And the animations are amazing! It was actually kind of challenging to complete, but I had a lot of fun. The first time I played I also didn't know that I had to hold down on the washer too. Thought it was just keeping the power above the 70%. I do really like the detail that the frogs generate more power than the other animals.

I really wish this game had audio. It would wrap it up so nicely. Even just a simple looping track and some sfx for main actions downloaded from free from somewhere can make a game feel 10x better.

Congratulations on this being your first game! If you didn't comment it, I would have never known with how polished this game is. You did a really great job creating this!

I’m so happy to hear you made it through, thank you so much for playing! I hope the win screen of Mr. Serious was worth it.

The visuals are so dang good, I can’t praise Blue enough for her work on this. I don’t have any visual artistry skill even close lol.

I wish we had sound too! Beyond elevating the game with some music, I think sound effects would have helped bring some clarity to the hold-push-to operate mechanic, as well as the Mr. Serious timer and the power threshold being crossed. Assets weren’t out of the question when I realized I wouldn’t have time for my own sound, but we cut it close with submission for its current state!

Thank you again for playing and the kind words, we had a lot of fun making this and learned a ton :)

broooo, the animations soo clean but why haven'y you any sound???, yoo, that was sooo clean  so btw test mine plzzz, ans congratulation tu you, that's look that a professional movie animation( simpson, familly guy... )

Developer

Thank you much for playing! The animation IS so clean, our artist absolutely killed it!

I wish we had time to do sound, I’d get someone dedicated for audio next time!

I play the games of everyone who comments so I will certainly swing by yours :)

Thanks again!

What a fun and challenging game! I love the unique and interesting take on the theme, at first I also thought of doing something laundry machine related but couldn't come up with an idea for it so I applaud you for making something very creative and fun. The visuals were also great and I love the look of Mr. Serious, he's VERY serious. Congrats on your first game!

Developer

Thank you so much, this has already made my day! It is always a thrill (and relief!) to know when the fun landed with someone.

Blue (co-creator and artist) did a beyond wonderful job translating this game idea and Mr. Serious himself to life visually. The visuals are certainly my favorite part!

Thanks so much for playing!

The art and style of this game is very neat! Very interesting concept and fun gameplay loop. I think it could benefit from some music to match the vibe of Mr. Serious and some more levels to ramp up in difficulty but all in all a very pleasant game to play.

Developer

I'm so glad you had a good experience with our game.  The art is my favorite part, and that is all thanks to Blue (themindofblue) and their hard work!

If there was anything I would have done differently for this game, it would have been to get a dedicated composer on board, because man even though I have a music background, I just had no time to implement some jingles I had in mind. I had a whole twilight-zone-like piece I wanted to make for at least an intro. I was too busy being a scrub working with godot lol.

Thank you so much for playing and for all the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I love the art and the theme. I'm a little scared of Mr. Serious. This game is also really difficult, I honestly can't make it past the first 30 seconds xD. I really liked how you interpreted the theme.

Making it my mission to play all the laundry related games in this jam!

Developer

Hahaha I’m glad Mr. Serious was able put some fear in you! With more time and experience on my end I would have given him an intro and music to lean on that a bit more.

It is a very hard game (more than intended)! If I were to share a tip I picked up as I tested, frogs are worth more “energy” so leaving one out and placing it a bit before he shows up should help keep the energy gauge higher before his arrival.

Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback! I love how laundry landed as a theme in this jam!

Submitted(+1)

This is a fun and humorous little game which has a cool concept. I would like to see general cue improvements, I couldn't always tell when the cursor was in the right position to pick up an animal which left me frustratingly going back and forth trying to pick it up. Also a cue for when Mr. Serious is about to check on the player would be ideal, as the game looks like it abruptly ends. Keep developing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and the for the kind words and feedback! The queue for Mr. Serious is definitely not as obvious as I’d like it to be (if you didn’t see a text timer in the top left please let me know!) and it can be very unforgiving.

I may go tweak the hover functionality to make those animals easier to pick up in this 24 hour bug fix window.

This was my first game and had a blast getting it out there, I will certainly keep developing :) thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

Well done on this being your first game! I think the reason I couldn't see the text in the top left is because player gaze is focused on the animals and/or washing machine, so it's really easy to miss.
