very polished game with a ton of unique minigames sprinkled along the way! sprite work was also fantastic to look at. amazing job to the whole team :)

This game is awesome! I loved all the different minigames themed around office tasks, and the spinny chair movement is fun and difficult to master. The boring tasks being necessary to keep the manager distracted is a great way to make them desirable, but still optional. Crazy that you even got cutscenes and voice acting in!

Yo this is a really serious game. Ain't no clowning around in this office. This game was really fun and the animations are really cool.

This is a very serious and uber important game. There is no funny business here, no clownin around. I loved the visuals and art style in the game. The mini games were great to break up the gameplay of spinning and dashing through hallways and keeping things fresh. Overall I really liked this game!

Funny little game, I struggled a lot with the chair, but I enjoyed the minigames!

Wow this is awesome!!!! I love everything about this and there's so so much attention to detail and polish with everything! All the cool animations and illustrations and interactive elements, this game is amazing!!!!! Like even the animation of the folder consuming the files and the way the eyes follow your hand and the boil effect on the loading screen and all the cool minigames! Everything blew me away, this is so so sick, you guys should release on steam!! Also I love the way the world fills with color as you go!

I got to level 2 and couldn't figure out how to do the bottle flip task, but overall a really fun and VERY serious game! Nice job!

Developer(+1)

You have to click when the arrow under the bottle is lined up with the bottle

Submitted(+3)

I couldn't finish because I'm bad at aiming the spinning chair XD but it was very enjoyable

Honestly not a single critique to be made, this is a full game already! So many little details just to help the player, the option to bail out from tasks, how the ground gets colored where you have already been, the fact each task has a little blurb of tutorial so you don't feel lost...

And you had a whole cutscene at the start, with narration and all! Awesome stuff!

Honestly if this doesn't place top 3 or win idk what would, the most serious submission I've seen so far!

What a great game, especially for something made in just 7 days! I made it to Floor 2, and I really enjoyed all the different minigames, they were well put together. I also loved the visuals and the overall presentation. Fantastic work!

Really nice but it seems a bit too good to be made in a week.

Developer(+2)

I will take that as a MASSIVE compliment! Thank you!

And just if it helps convince you that we really did. The brainstorming document is still in our drive. If you want me to show the "made date" on any of these, I can and will. Heck, I'll even *stream* it on Discord if you want.

That's really kind, I def feel the same way about a lot of entries,

You did an insanely fun physics game for a solo dev

Pretty cohesive and consistent game for a team of 100. Legit impressive. Controls to move around in the office were annoying at first. I thought "why does this crazy dude want to spin around in his chair instead of walking normally and performing the tasks?" I mean lore sure but c'mon! And then there were more tasks, and then I had to strategically think about alternating fun / boring tasks, and then there was the fact that I needed to be careful about time management, and the best part of this was the final boss fight. The controls that were kinda annoying on the first 3 floors made the final boss fight really cool and rewarding. It was like a war of bumper cars and really fit the whole aesthetic of the game. Great job overall.

Sounds like you got the perfect experience!
Thanks for playing!

So funny thing, there was three big teams this year
We ended up being a team of aprox 55 Team ASS (All Serious Studios), although the server we made had something closer to 150 before we figured out who all was jamming.

Then there was Team 100, not to be confused with Team 100 Raccoons in a Trenchcoat
Both of them made great games, too

This game was so serious that it crashed my pc (my pc is dying, it’s not your fault).

I confess that I was a bit skeptical with the idea of team ASS, but you guys somehow managed to create something good.

The only problem that I found was that the game froze on transitions, which I assume is because the game doesn’t use async loading. That’s just a minor annoyance though.

Amazing entry! The controls were a bit clunky, but man, I love the art style, and the voice acting is amazing. It kind of feels like The Stanley Parable for some reason

Lead of Team 100 here, just wanna say Best wishes and damn this game is so cute this might win #1

Love this game. The art style is nice and fun, I like how all of his family is bald in the flashback. I love all the Wario ware minigames you can run into. The keyboard minigame sound effects made me giggle and loved the cat pics in the folder minigame. All around amazing game

I don't know what this guy is complaining about he has the easiest job ever! Really good art, voice acting., and story. Solid all around. Nice job on the creative idea

this is a beautiful work of art!!! what an amazingly creative idea for a game to use a spinny chairrr! i think the minigames were super engaging altho i couldn't seem to run away from the typing game....

only comment i have is that its a bit difficult to see where the (!) was coming from, and i had to move around quite a lot to try to find it (and bump everything and make roy mad)

Submitted(+4)

Really great submission you guys! I'm very sure you're a contender for the winner of the whole jam.

Firstly the charm is everywhere, and the game is overflowing with whimsy. There's a ton of little details that just expel polish, like roy's eyes at the start so subtly following your choice, or the actual chair allowing you a second charge while spinning before needing to stop and wind back up again. The boss fight was engaging, but sometimes an enemy would just take damage or die and I have no idea from what since I didn't even attack them. I loved the "Shift to cope" line of dialogue haha. The art and sound design were top notch, and there was some very serious humor involved.

The minigames are all  unique and pretty fun in my opinion, even the "boring" tasks. The only ones I had issue with were the spin the bottle minigame and the coffee minigame, one was too hard to control and the other one just lost my attention since it was mostly waiting. I also found a bug but wasn't able to recreate it when bailing from the music record fun task where if I bailed at a certain time the background music would temporarily stop until entering another task with its own music such as the coffee task.

Some parts of the UI weren't centered to the full screen mode on the web build, I believe it was just the cutscenes and the desktop during the computer tasks. I think the level design does a good job at complimenting the game. I did get lost once on the fourth level trying to find the last fun task but I didn't spend a crazy amount of time looking for it, just something to consider if you plan on pushing this concept further.

I'm saying all the problems I experienced but I still recommend this game with flying colors for the many incredibly positive things I don't even notice. Again, I really loved this.

Developer(+3)

Thank you so much for the detailed comment. Yeah some of the backgrounds and scenes/UI might not have been centered, cause of just time crunch or just varying screen sizes It wasn't supposed to be cutscenes however, we noticed it in the meeting room minigame. Yeah the bottle mini game was almost impossible to get it in time, which is why we made a RNG win button which you can just press and win without even needing to play it. the coffee minigame is simple and yes consumes a lot of time so you better have had your meter down before entering it. or just bail if you think you would need more time. And finally about getting lost, you just have to follow the colored path tiles on the floor to find the fun tasks. the boring tasks are the ones which you can basically find everywhere else. all the fun tasks have a colored path from elevator to their rooms/sections. Thanks once again for the very insightful comment. If we do improve upon this at some point, we will try to fix as much of this as possible. :)
