Quite touching and seems very personal, keep up the good work!
I appreciate it. Thanks for playing! :)
Really awesome game! Really endearing artstyle and very deep message for the narrative! Very creative in a way you come up with the stories and endings and it is highly serious! Overall, I had a really fun time playing this one, awesome job!
Thank you for playing! I'm happy to hear you had fun :)
What a creative use of the theme! I'm very happy I got to help my girl out of her depression spiral, lol. Also I'm impressed at how many choices there are. Overall pretty fun, although the "jumpscares" were a little too loud for me
Glad you liked it, and I appreciate it! I do think I could go back and make sure the sound was all correct; there are also options in the menu to lower the sound on sound effects in the future. Thanks for playing!
Great story. Gets really dark but has a positive message. Multiple outcomes are a huge bonus! I love the way your UI came out. Great submission!
Yayy! I'm happy you liked it~~ Thank you for playing, it means a lot :)
I am very glad to have found a narrative game. Your writing has potential, keep it up.
The music choice is good, but the volume is a bit inconsistent.
The visuals, despite being so simple, do a great job on connecting with and enhancing the story.
I think the spinning wheel could be presented a bit more organically. I don’t think it’s bad, on the contrary actually. I think it’s a great idea. But, right now it feels disconnected from everything else. I would remove the text explanation when it first appears, and change the visuals on it so that the player can figure out by themselves. That would make the consequences of the results hit harder.
The jumpscares are unnecessary. The story has enough tension already. You don’t need that.
Overall, this is very impressive for a first game. Well done.
Wowow I seriously appreciate this review so much. Thank you for the feedback, and I am glad you found it interesting! I agree with everything, I would love to fine tune it after the jam. Thank you for playing!!
I really enjoyed this game. the art is simple but dramatic and the story is also really good. the only criticism is that the jumpscares are everywhere. I get what you're trying to achieve but please dont make 10 cheap jumpscares. it gets annoying as the game progresses. Instead, try to build tension first and then try to execute a jumpscare. That would make the game 100x better.
But overall, this is a really good game like no joke, especially for your first game. How did you do this? Which engine did you use? Cuz this is, in my opinion, VERY impressive. Added this to my collection. Good job!
Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed it! This is very very valid. Someone who was playing with me said the timing is going to be hard because of the nature of the jam. I would love to improve the pacing, so I really understand this. Thank you so much for letting me know.
And thank you! I used Ren'Py for it with some python for a few things that Ren'Py couldn't do, Figma for assets, and a few other random things to put it together. I really appreciate your thorough review, it helps a ton!
holy shit. this hit hard. You wrote all of that in a week??
Yep! Somehow the writing was the shortest part lol. I actually had way more trouble adding in some things that didn't make the cut. Glad you liked it!
great work! was so happy when i i saw that the art business was finally booming in the end :)
Yayyy! I'm happy you got that ending. :) Thank you!
This was an awesome interpretation of the theme, really liked it! very diferent from the other interpretations i've seen here.
Thanks for playing! I appreciate it! :)
I dont even know what to say, that was genuinely amazing. I felt my own heart seize a bit, those scenes of self inflicted doubt and anxiety hit a bit too far home. I usually dont spend much more time than it takes to win or get a feel for the game, but this one had me locked in until the end with a sigh of relief as it ended. Like others have said, the connection to the theme was loose but the game carries itself through that.
Daww, I'm really really glad you enjoyed it. I hope in the future to tie up those loose ends. I did originally create minigame features that involved more of the theme and unfortunately couldn't get them to work on time. Nonetheless, I hope the story reaches some people, so I'm glad it reached you. :)
Nice job! This was a lot different of a take than a lot of the others I've seen
Ehehe yeah I thought it'd be interesting to take a more *serious* approach. Glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
Very well put together game with a strong theme. For a game jam I think you did a great job appropriately addressing a sensitive topic. Great job!
Aww I appreciate it! Thank you for trying out my game! :)
This was really well put together - I feel like the Spin-To-Win connection was a bit loose, but the rest of the story really carries that. Multiple playthroughs and endings is a cool concept too, and having the choices you make drive those endings was nice.
There were some subtle scares in there too, with the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment after the first family talk. Subtle where it needed to be, more direct with the sudden descent in mental state that the character ended up with at points.
This was a pretty cool experience, felt very artsy in it's presentation, which fit the story pretty well! Nice work.
I really appreciate you giving a thorough review. I think it really helps, and I hope in the future to get better at tying in everything together. Glad you enjoyed it, and I was very happy to try your game as well!~
such a bice game i liked the art stile nice one
yay! glad to hear it and thanks for trying it out! :)
Cool game, theme is anormal, and that’s right, it has his own visual style, which is great, I recommend this game if you have some time free and you like histories, pretty cool 8/10, Keep it up!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it~
Very nice, I didn't expect the novel to be about mental health but it's important to talk about and was well executed. I went back to get the good ending after fubaring Tal's mental health the first time
Thank you for going back for the good ending! I made four endings depending on different choices you make, so I'm glad someone tried for another ending :)
All 5 stars for me, the story was amazing, well put and all, it was incredible ngl
Thank you so much! :) That makes me happy to hear ~
Really nice work. I haven't played a lot of VNs but this one kept my attention, and was quite affecting. Congrats!
I'm glad you tried it out! Thank you so much for playing!
Great job! Totally immersive in story and probably the first ever VN i have enjoyed in a while
Appreciate it! Glad you liked it :)
haven't really played any visual novels so i can't helpful feedback but i thought the story was very lovely! art style was super charming too, though the "spin to win" part of the game did seem a little shoehorned in. still nice job tho!
Yeah - I actually had a lot of ideas for spinning minigames and when I tried to code them in Ren'Py they broke :( I hope in the future to get better at troubleshooting :) Glad you liked it!
