This teapot needs to stop being mean to me! :c
That was fun! Looked very clean and I am great at trivia for some reason so this was right up my alley!
For a long while though the stacking was kinda easy, of course it can't be made too difficult because that wouldn't be fun either but most of the items I got were flat on top so I didn't feel the need to move or rotate them, I could just keep stacking them in place until a grandfather clock messed it up eventually lol :P
Great fun! Great game! A joy to play!
one of if not THE fav of the jam. art is beautiful, i have a soft spot for trivia games, and it being combined with some silly physics based stacking? winning my heart. i'm probably gonna keep this game on my pc until i've seen every question lol. only note i'd have is audio mixing is sometimes a bit unbalanced, and if i'm referencing audio mixing as a criticism then it's clear that this game is basically perfect as is. <3 10/10
I absolutely LOVE the game, and Vippori’s art is amazing! I recently made post inspired by Your work.😭❤️
I love this game
Peak, I would rate it 5 stars but I can't rate it :(
This game is beautiful, you did a really good job with the art style, i loved it!!!!!
Love the polish and execution of the game. The charming host, the fun little voice lines, the furniture tetris building in between. Having character custimization in a game jam game. Just great. The only constructive "criticism" of it is it doesn't implement the theme all that much, compared to what I think the rest of the game is. But still amazing game.
I don't think I need to say much here: you've heard it enough already, game is very polished, yada yada... only thing one could reproach from it is the integration of the jam theme, and for an average gamer, they would not care about that.. I'm just gonna keep this game permanently thank you very much (Also nice of you for making a Mac build that actually works).
This game is great! Here is my breakdown:
The fact that this game has character customization is amazing. It wasn't necessary for a jam, but it makes the game have so much more charm. The trivia is great too. I played for a very good long while, and while some questions did repeat, every once a while a question I haven't seen before pops up. The stacking part is very interesting. It adds layers of mechanical skill and tactical skill on top of the trivia skill needed for the questions. This makes the game much more interactive and adds depth that most trivia games do not have. The title music in the game slaps, great job to the guy that made it. As many others have pointed out, the visuals are the main thing that draws people to the game. Vippori is an extremely talented and experienced artist, and she does not disappoint here. The polish and style is industry grade, simply incredible. All the elements together feels like a cohesive experience, like everything was designed with everything else in mind. Now, for some the parts that could be improved.
There is a bug where if you press space multiple times a few seconds before the run restarts many unintended things happen. Multiple questions can pop up at the same time. The results screen after that round can display the incorrect results. The results screen can even be frozen, forcing me to quit and reopen the game. This could be solved by instead of running the "start next run" code on if space was pressed, make the code execute only once regardless of how many times space is pressed after that, via a boolean or any other means. That was the only bug I found. Design wise, there are some problems. Firstly, powerups are much too scarce. I played for a good long while, and only got a powerup twice. I can imagine someone out there could play for less time then I did, get their fill of the game, and leave without ever getting a powerup. The stacking itself is very fun, but unfortunately my best run was not rotating or moving the objects at all and just dropping them all in the starting position. Since they all drop at the exact same place and basically all the objects have their center of mass in the middle, all the center of masses line up making the most consistent strategy to not interact with the stacking mechanic at all. This could be fixed by making the starting positions random or adding more asymmetrical objects. The VA did great, and I enjoyed the quirky voice lines. Some of them did get repetitive after a while though, but that is not too big of a deal.
Overall I immensely enjoyed this charming game and I am looking forward to see what this team makes next. Also Luke goes to UT (go longhorns), congrats from EGADS!
Love the sassy teapot host. The writing and voice acting for them was amazing! Then obviously the art style is adorable and the gameplay is fun.
Only nitpick: I wish I could manually spin the wheel
The best game I've played so far from this jam! It's so clever, so well animated, I love the colors, the little jokes from the announcer, everything's perfect! Also I'm really bad at this game ahah (both at answering the questions and positioning the objects) my best score is $1810 for 6.8m! Come on, beat it!
This was incredibly entertaining :) one of the best I played so far this Jam. Congrats
Really cute game! I love the artstyle. My only issue is that the voicelines felt a bit repetitive after a bit.
the art is truly incredible !!! what a charming little game. all of the visuals are so on point.
HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS IN A WEEK!?! This is amazing
Wtf is this level of polish? Is this even a Jam game?!
Insaaane how polished this is. Also, the idea of making a game show is sooo smart! I honestly don't think there's anything I don't like about this game, the only thing I'd love to see is maybe an option to choose questions by difficulty or theme (but that's probably outside the scope of a game jam, just mentioning it in case you ever decide to make an expanded version)
ps: make a teapot guy plushie, I will buy it.
Somehow I wasn't expecting anyone to make a trivia game but this game is great! And in hindsight it's such an obvious idea, a gameshow where you spin a wheel, but you guys did it so well!
Best visuals of all entries, funny voice acting, and super polished! Amazing work!
Haha, this is crazy well done. Bonus points for bananas and jurassic park (two of my favorite things). Minor bug, if you hit space quick enough it just skips to the next question. If you didn't answer the last, nbd, just a new question, if you did answer the last one, it could skip the spin for rewards entirely. Otherwise, neat concept! Polish it up and put this on Steam.
