Since we're well past the deadline I'm curious about how others feel about their game. In my case, considering it's my first jam and I work solo, I'm pretty happy with the result.

So what about you? Are you satisfied with your game, and if not- why?

Also, feel free to drop a link and I'll check out your game. If you want to check out mine I'll really appreciate it!

I think mine turned out great for a game that was way overscoped made by someone who consistently fails these things it’s easily my best game jam project https://jack-soucie.itch.io/extreme-washing-machine-simulator-with-a-vengeance-nocturne

I like the state of my game currently, even more since I did it alone WHILE being in my exam period. A little sad I couldn't fix a bug with the Simon mini-game, but overhall I'm happy ^^".

It has 3 type of mini-games; Platforming, Puzzle & Cannon shooting !

Just finished it! I The minigames were a lot of fun (especially the platforming) and it's a very polished game.

P.S. Good luck with the exams! Going through this pain too

My game turned out really well, but it is definitely a huge amount of things that I wish were there or more polished, but It is definitely a significantly better than my last 2 jam submissions. Also I got along significantly better with my team this time and I am very proud of what we accomplished. Especially in those 2 17 hour vc days lmaoo

this is also my first jam, im rly happy with what i made, I'd appreciate it you checked it out and game me your opinion :)

I'm pretty happy but there are some minor things that bother me and I would have liked to change. Many people don't get the mechanic from the description, so I should have added a visual animation for it. Others struggle with shooting because I added the pivot point a bit behind the cannon. The me of the present would have used the initial clicking point.

I guess this goes to show that a week is a small time period to create and having random people playtest is very important.

Overall very happy with how far I got. I had to cut some design features that I think would have made the game even better but I know the scope would have been too large. Originally you would have workstations for tasks and hints to find all over the map that you would have to figure out the code. Too many failed codes would punish players - monster spawns, traps, ect. Even harder would be only 3 attempts per code and extraction fails!

But yea, I've been slowly learning "elevated low-poly" art and this was a chance to do something inspired by Quake

Dang, your game looks very very fun! I've read quake and instantly clicked, totally gonna play

Awesome!

I was happy with my game and submitted thinking all is good and realized I have a bug in the game but you could get to that bug at round 3 or 4 at least and the reason I didn't see the bug is that I would not get up to that round at my own game lol. But I saw good reviews and thought that all in all my idea was good.

It's my first Game jam after 2 years of game development and I feel pretty happy with what I finished.

Congrats on your first jam! As a fellow first jam solo dev, I’m really happy with what I got done. I’ve learned a lot and have a few ideas for additions features/improvements for my game once the jam wraps up.

Check it out if you’ve got a couple minutes.

This game is such a creative take on the theme! Great job with this

So I think my game turned out great. The gameplay could be more enjoyable, specially at the beggining. (Later in the run (since it is a rogelike), when you have the suck power or the explosions power (or both), is really fun to strategize more to deal with the tougher ghosts). The art turned out great, especially since I'm a sucker at drawing (pixel art makes it easier tho). The sound design is a bit lacking tho. I did add the essential sfx and not much more.. Also all of the songs are Kevin macLeod (with one of them being straight up kool kats), which is very funny to me ngl.

I did get carried a bit and ended up working on it for 6 days straight from 8am to 2am tho..... Didnt have much else to do, so I dont mind.

Here is the game if any kind soul wanna try it (https://nakslol.itch.io/manor-of-ghosts-that-explode-for-some-unknow-reason). And if you dont rate it 5-4-4-3-4 or better you will burn in the darkest pits of hell. Or worse, get turned into a ghost of round 4 in a loop and get decimated eternally.

I don't really know, I know it's my first jam and everything, but I think that my game it's a little bit unapproachable. My game ended up being kinda hard, and I don't think anyone has completed it yet. I think I could have made it wayyyy shorter, but polished. But I'm still happy of releasing my first game!

I am happy, but think I could have done better, I was limited by my engine, and you will see why if you play my game

For my first game, I feel satisfied at the state its in. If I had more time I would fix some small things!

Enter the Spinny Dungeon! Play as spin knight Pirouette and face off against dangerous foes known as spinemies. Battle spinemies, increase your stats, and survive 10 rooms of the dungeon. Do you have what it takes to spin to win?

I had a lot of fun making the aesthetics of my game, which people seem to really like, but I think I could've added a little more variety to the gameplay. But it's only my second game so overall I think I did good!

Tbh I was really pleased with how our game came together. It's the first game either of us had properly finished and published, so I wasn't expecting a lot. There were definitely points where it wasn't a certainty that we would even have a game by the end, but we pulled it together and I'm proud of what we made! And ultimately, we had so much fun making it, which was our real goal.

The art is pretty neat imo, and (although we just used some royalty free soundtracks) the music adds to the experience, in a somewhat ironic and silly serious way. And look, there are a couple of bugs, which really, well, bug me, but I think it's a pretty fun game in the end. The last minute addition of a leaderboard was definitely worth it, cause it adds a level of competitiveness to it.

Im pretty happy with how my game turned out. I wasn't originally planning on participating but once I learned what the theme was I came up with the idea for a balatro style roulette game and decided to try and make it. I managed to implement most the features I intended but would've liked to add more upgrade/items. An actual win screen would've been nice to make too.

Here it is if you want to check it out: /jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4715364

I'm fairly happy, I only had so much time because of work, but I feel like I managed to get a lot done. I had some stretch goals that I never got around to that definitely would have improved the aspects that are the main criticisms I (and reviewers) have, but I think I largely made the game I set out to make:

I'm really happy with it! I think I took the core mechanic with the spell wheel about as far as I could without making the upgrade pool bloated, and I'm proud of the presentation and overall polish! https://candyhen127.itch.io/tailspin
