It's a solid game. It's a pity that there's only one type of opponent. And that the improvements are temporary. Perhaps if the bonuses had accumulated, it would have been more fun, albeit less balanced :)
Music is good. Duck is very serious.
I totally agree with you; I was just short on time. Thanks for playing the duck game!
Really solid nicely polished game, good fun and challenge. Well done!
Thank you so much!
This game is actually really fun. The music is amazing too! It sounds so good! The difficulty suddenly got really hard on the last wave, but it shouldn't matter too much with the number of hearts the player has. The wheel spinning is also great motivation to get the player moving around your map instead of staying in one spot. Thanks for making such a fun game to play :-]
Great job!
P.S. Really cool pfp. I like it a lot!
Thank you for the feedback. and happy to hear you had a good time with this game! The pfp comes from a game I made for a previous jam. :)
Cool game! I don't know why but somehow my keyboard bugged and my entire first run was without moving... (made it to round 6, I guess that's an achievement) - Then when my keyboard finally worked again I played the game correctly and have to say: Very cool, was a lot of fun! I managed to beat it in the end!
Oops, not sure what happened with the keyboard! But thanks for trying the game a second time once it started working!
No no, the keyboard issues were definitely a problem on my end!
I win! Yay!
This was fun, it gave me ror1 vibes a little, platforming around with waves of enemies trying to fight your way to each objective. Some enemy variation would've gone a long way to making it feel more fleshed out without too much work.
I liked the art, palette worked well and it felt cohesive with the game and sound design.
Great job!
Wow, Risk of Rain is very high praise for me, I love that franchise. :)
Thank you for the feedback and for trying out the game!
Amazing work! This game is extremely fast paced and gets super hard at wave 6
Thank you for playing the game! Yeah, the difficulty scaling is a bit agressive, oops!
This game is pretty fast pace, and I really like that - it keeps you engaged. I also really like that you have to find your way to the next wheel to spin. Gives you something extra to do while shooting the enemies. Good job!
Thanks for taking the time to play my game and for the kind words!
This game is very well done overall, and it feels very good to play. The level design is the weakest part in my opinion. It doesn’t feel very cohesive, almost as if the tiles were placed at random. That takes away the fun of moving around a little bit. But other than that, it’s really good.
Psst, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Your intuition is correct. I made the level in the last hour of the jam, I basically did place the tiles at random! 😅 If I had more time I would have liked to make a more thoughtful level.
Thanks for playing the game and for the feedback!
This is a really polished platformer! And on top of that, the wheel really adds a lot to this classic formula
Thank you for trying out the game and for the kind words!
I really like the movement in this game. The flapping mechanic is good, and the jumping and gravity feels really solid. The sound effects fit well with that. Just a lot of fun to move around.
My biggest complaint is with the text. The wave indicators in game as well as the restart text take up too much screen space, and they linger for too long. The writing in menus is a hard-to-read font to me.
I really like what you did with the indicator arrow that points to the wheel, and its tick animation while the wheel spins looks good. The camera motion focusing on the wheel is well-implemented. It would be nice to see what power-up I get if I move away from it after it spins.
To me, some of the gameplay feels a little lacking, but I really like the controls and all the motion you put together.
Thank you for all the feedback. I think most of what you said are very reasonable criticisms. I thought about most of those things too, but oops, I ran out of time! Thanks for playing my game!
pretty addictive wave shooter game play. i like the slow fall aspect, very enjoyable
Thank you for trying my game out! I’m glad to know that you like the slow fall; it’s one of my favorite bits of the game. :)
Yay! I did it. That last wave put up a challenge. I like how you forgiving you were to the player, a whole mess of hearts and if you fail, well, just keep going. Nice shades on the duck too. 🕶️
Duck Danger wears shades because Duck Danger is so cool. 😎 Thanks for taking the time to play my game!
The visuals are very nice along with the music! The death screen motivating you before letting you try again is also a nice touch. I did notice that the tilemap obscures the how to play and credits buttons on the main menu when you go fullscreen, but that's only a minor issue.
What an odd bug, I’ve never seen that before, but thank you for reporting it. Thanks for playing my game!
Nice game! I managed to beat it. I liked the pixel art. Spinning the wheel to get power-ups is a fun idea and I liked that you had to chase it down each time. I just wish the power-ups lasted a bit longer. I also would have liked to see more variety in enemies since the waves feel so similar to each other. Other than that, nice job!
Agreed on your point about variety. I had plans for different types of enemies, but oops, I ran out of time! Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to play my game!
the game was absolute fun, art is adorable, gameplay a bit boring, but abilities make it much better, for game's scope it's great
Thank you for the feedback!
Very cool ! The soundtrack is neat, made it to wave 5 !
Thank you for playing my game!
As a fellow ducker, I approve of this game! I made it to wave 7 and almost finished the game without dying, but I was glad there were checkpoints that I wasn't aware of! The shooting and upgrade mechanics were solid. I think some sort of spinning ability may have helped with the theme a bit more besides just the powerup wheel itself since the wheel is very temporary. Great duck sprite too btw. Great job!
Thank you so much for the kind words, fellow ducker! 🦆
Very fun! loved the soundtrack! Game loop was very fun, loved how forgiving it was!
Thank you for the kind words! I tend to make the difficulty in my jam games too hard on accident. This is probably still a bit rough for some players but I’m hoping it’s a step in the right direction. :)
I mean I failed a few times and kept trapping myself before fully figuring out the controls (So the game being forgiving helped), but after that I found the difficulty to be slightly challenging but in an engaging and good way!
I love the little details in the game like the gliding. Nice visuals too!
Thank you for playing the game. The gliding animation and sound is my favorite detail of the game. :)
Really good game! Very enjoyable overall, the music and graphics are nice, and though the spin could be a bit more in the actual gameplay it's a really neat game
Thank you! I did have grander plans for the spinning wheels, but time constraints had me cutting those plans out of the game. That’s just how it goes in jams sometimes!
