This game is a lot of fun! I really love the pixel art, the gun game screen is beautiful! You have really excellent sound design and music as well, very impactful sound effects. I didn't expect the wheel to fill up with more effects and I really like trying to balance the amount on the wheel with adding bullets and chambers into the gun. I really appreciated having a screen that tells you what all the effects do.
I think the only criticism I have is that I didn't know what the jokers did until after I used them. The music also seemed to glitch out for me and stopped playing, but it did get retriggered after winning a gun game.
Awesome job!
Thank you for playing and for all of your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
As for the music glitching out, I'm not sure what caused that so I'll have to look into it!
my mind when to a casino while brainstorming our game and this is so nice to see. Love the atmospheric music!
Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed the ambiance!
I really love roguelike gambling games, and this one have real potential. Right now lacks balancing but is expected from a one week game jam game. You should continue developing this I think. Great job!
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah balance is definitely something that needs to be worked on in the future haha
Really cool game! Wished you could win by paying your debt once you have 5000 instead of needing to survive all 10 rounds. I was super close to winning with 10000 but lost to a strike out.
Thanks for playing! I debated between allowing that or not and honestly I'm still not sure which I would prefer haha!
i'm a huge fan of roguelite, incremental type games with a casino finish so this should be right up my alley. unfortunately the gambling mechanic just never really made sense to me, and i didn't really understand what i was buying, so my run fell apart and i didn't exactly know why. i might give it another run tomorrow to get some fresh perspective
Thanks for the feedback!
If you were interested on trying it again I could explain it a little bit to clear some things up. The gambling mechanic is entirely optional and you could choose to bet on what type of section will get landed on. You can use this to your advantage by trying to build your wheel to include many of the same types of cards (see below comment where a player used a bunch of curses). Or, you can play it safe and just spin the wheel and avoid the gambling.
As for the buying if you're referring to the shop, I didn't have time to implement a UI tooltip hover so hovering your mouse on the 'i' will display information of what each section does.
I hope this helps!
This was a fun take on the random spin the wheel type games! It felt really nice slowly tilting the wheel in my favor with each shop.
My main piece of feedback is that the gambling mechanic didn't feel very balanced. At the beginning it's never worth it since the odds are very likely you'll just lose your bet. It felt much more effective to just spin for money up or jackpot slots. However by the end I was able to get my whole wheel cursed, and by then gambling is just doubled money each spin. I think it has a lot of potential to save a losing run in an interesting way if tweaked a little more, so I'd love to see this mechanic refined a little!
I also was able to get rid of the gun game slot early on, so I didn't interact with that part of the game at all throughout my run. It probably shouldn't be possible to do this lol.
But regardless I still had fun playing! Good job :)
Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
I agree with the gambling mechanic, I would definitely tweak some things to make it more worth it (higher returns, or something else). I'm actually really happy you brought up the cursed method that you found and also removing the gun game! I wanted to give the player as much flexibility as possible to create their own boards and come up with their own strategies also. Granted, the game is very unbalanced so you can probably win easily with some of them but it's all for fun anyway!
Thanks again! :)
Honestly well done this is a completed game loop. The music is chill, the art is nice, the mechanics are cool and plenty. Sure some people will be overwhelmed but it's because you've really outdone yourself, added so much, and delivered a complete game :)
I have a few notes/suggestions for this game, but they're very nitpicky:
- Keep the items you can't bet on yet deactivated until they're unlocked on the wheel.
- The icons on the roulette wheel become super small after I added enough sections to the wheel, I was squinting and it was especially hard to tell some of them apart (Like + or - coins)
- I didn't get why I could bet on the - coins, if I do and it lands on it do i gain or lose money?
- Focus more on the element of strategy, there's a similar game i suggest you check out "Buckshot Roulette". Although it is RNG at the end of the day but the player feels in control of their fate with strategy even if they're wrong 40%.
That's it, I really loved this submission and it kinda reminds me of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette a bit tbh.
Great Job!!
Thank you so much for your comment! :)
For your first point I 100% agree with it, I wish I had time to implement that because it would avoid a lot of confusion. As for the icons, I originally planned for a limit on the wheel but decided not to, so I didn't think about a better visual indicator for the extremely small sections. The betting could've been optimized a bit more to give more back maybe 3 to 1 instead so if you did bet on the - coins you could gain some more. As for your last point I was also planning on adding a perk/permanent upgrade system to help a bit more with RNG like those games, and also to add and tweak some of the items.
Thank you again! Those were some of the games I was inspired by so I'm glad it felt that way
An interesting idea but it felt a bit overwhelming seeing all the effects there is
Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
Really cool concept! I did enjoyed the gameplay and the art look really cool but I have few feedbacks: 1. it's great the have all these different slots and use that gameplay with deckbuilder style but while it would be great for a full fledged game it feels little clustered for a jam game since you can basicaly get half of them after the first shop. 2. The art style is awesome but some of the assets are little inconsistent with sizing especially the roulette and the table. But still great game! Could be a really cool deckbuilder game if it gets more polish.
Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
1. Yeah I get that, I was contemplating putting limits in between rounds and even for the whole wheel itself, but I kind of just wanted to let it all go wild and let people build crazy wheels
2. I totally agree with you on the sizing, the art was the last thing I added and I was rushing to fit it all in which led to a lot of sizing issues and having to just manually size it up (I hate mixels lol)
Thank you again!
Very complex, i couldnt figure it out lol
like the vibe tho
Sorry about that, I wish I had a bit more time to add a short tutorial at the start and some tooltips. Thanks for playing though!
Really cool concept! The graphics and sound work really well! And there's also a lot of content for a jam game! Well done!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the atmosphere!
Typically how I feel when gambling irl lol. blurry/double heads.
But very creative game, a little difficult at first to understand what's going on, but a few tries and you get it!
Haha!
Well thank you for playing and for your feedback :)
Great job on the visuals and audio!
Thank you very much!
huuu.... that gun game stuff is real surprise. good job!
Thank you!
Fun little game! Loved the art and the feel of gambling.
I will admit, I was a little lost for the first five spins or so. I didn't realize the rounds could have multiple spins, and I did not understand that I could bet on which tiles I'd land on with that right section.
Once I finished a round or two, though, things started clicking into place. If there's any way to reduce the information you need to know at the beginning, this game would be a whole other level. That does seem tricky though haha.
Maybe next time, the dealer won't shoot me. xD
Thank you! That's some great feedback, I'll definitely make gameplay more intuitive and easier to follow if I update the game!
The theme is cool, the gun scene cut me off guard! A very addicting game and I also liked the progression of the game and the upgrades were really fun! Was very fun to try to maximize one certain kind of perk for it to happen as often as possible and also make one bad perk be happen often in order not to have to deal with a lot of unexpected stuff.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it and had fun building up the wheel!
the vibe were match with the game, pretty interesting, can u test mine ?
Thank you for playing! And I just played yours, it's a very well made game and I really enjoyed it!
Stellar game, among the best I've played so far! Made it to a score of 35216.
The amount of tension I felt hitting a gun game scratched that high-stakes "seriousness" that immersed me right into the game. All of the items and modifiers to the wheel I could purchase felt meaningful to get to my ultimate goal of winning.
Winning is what surprised me, because even though I got to the $5000 threshold to win, there isn't a cash out option (classic gambling behavior lol) so it became a survival game to not get killed. So my goal shifted to surviving the next 6 rounds and I was on edge the entire time. Some insurance with select items helped me get there, as well as some luck!
Fantastic visuals across the board, fantastic music and sound effects.
This game is so good that the only negatives I can speak about are just 2 bugs I encountered. Whenever you reset the game after a loss, the music stops playing so I had to refresh the page to a new session. Additionally, when you win the reset button doesn't work. That being said, even when those bugs happened I wanted to keep playing so they were just barriers rather than diminishing the overall experience.
Extremely well done. I hope you get a lot of eyes on this one!
Thank you so much for you comment! And wow I think that's the highest score I've seen so far!
And yeah originally I had it so once you reached the goal you won but I thought it would be more fun to make it so you still have to survive the whole 10 rounds.
And thanks for the bug feedback, it seems that the restart button has a few issues haha!
Thank you again! :)
Nice game!
The wheel spin felt really good, and the room and Bullet have nice designs, but I found the game quite confusing even with the help of the i panel with every effect's description, and the gameplay loop wasn't too fun to interact with.
I'm sure some people will like it, but I don't think it's for me though
Thank you for playing and for your honest feedback! Yeah I wish I had more time to clean up the overall UI and make everything simpler with tooltips that activate when you hover. Thanks for taking the time to play and comment even if it wasn't your kind of game!
Super cool game. I think you could add to it that if your hovering over a thing to buy it will give a description of what it does(maybe on the right)
Thank you for playing! I really did want to add tooltips for when you hover over things but unfortunately didn't have enough time for that. Thank you for your feedback!
