This is one of the few cases where I feel like the spinning mechanic actually hurt the game - I can only imagine how fun it would be to just launch the sword wherever I pleased. That being said, you obviously had to utilize spinning, and I still had fun! My only real pain point was that I'd probably have preferred recall being on the right click, as I don't click my middle mouse button that often, and it can cause some strain.

Very creative spinning mechanic! Also really liked the grappling hook, felt very smooth! Would be nice with some checkpoints, and I feel like it would also be nice if the sword did damage while you were spinning it, other than that, great job on everything! Graphics, music and gameplay all top notch!

Cool! I thought it was very funny being someone who looks like a wizard that attacks with a sword, haha. Some have already mentioned things I'd like to have seen (checkpoints, damage on retrieval), I would've liked to have been able to hit goblins without having to launch the sword as well as some kind of "being grappled" visual effect as it currently just looks like you're walking through lava. But I had fun and it's impressive that you managed to implement a boss fight as well!

Had a great time playing! The art, sound, and gameplay were all very well polished and felt great!

A nice and cute rogue lite game, with loads of possibilities to add on later. The visuals and audio goes well with the theme. I liked that the starting level acts somewhat like a tutorial; with the book as a manual. Overall good work!

Very very cool, I like the sword mechanics. I got the gear, but also defeated the king because why not.

I loved this game, falling in lava restarts the whole game was a bit mean, but that is retro game punishment, which I can respect :D, loved its look, if the recall is possible with left click rather than middle button it would a nice improvement, but overall great game and I enjoyed playing it, amazing work ♥

I loved this, and got the sword mechanic with some practice. I couldn't get grappled over the lava though.

Liked it and nice concept but It was hard to master the sword fight but I still enjoyed it and lived the grapple !

Thats a really nice little game. Only feeling bad for the goblins not immediatly running after me because no one gave them glasses. Solid base and good levels build on top of it. good job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you :) the glasses goblin went rogue and stole all of the goblins glasses :P

A good, short game but with solid mechanics; the boss fight was excellent—good game :O

This is a really good game! I like the art and the sword throwing/grapple mechanics

This is a very minor thing but I think it would be more intuitive to left click a second time to recall the sword instead of middle mouse button

Developer

Thank you!! Im actually working on that at the time of your comment, im refactorying the game so thought I should add it

I like the idea and enjoyed playing overall. Cool artwork, and nice introduction to mechanics. Enemies would not move unless I did initially, and I feel the sword should spin faster.

Developer

I appreciate you trying out my game!

Really nice artwork and cool idea for a game. Unfortunately wasn't able to make progress due to not having a middle mouse button but if that gets fixed I would gladly play through the rest of it, I like the core concept.

Art was nice, thought the sword could have spun a little faster (but that’s just personal taste). No checkpoints was a little harsh, I died with the spell book open. The combat was a little bland, ranged enemies or pressure would have helped. Well put together, and a good game overall well done.

Developer

Yep ranged enemies were one of my features but I couldn't make it in time, sorry about the no checkpoints it was a bit rough!

yo this is a pretty cool game ngl, i enjoyed the spinning mechanic in this one and going through levels and destroying enemies B) plus the art looks pretty simple but pretty cool :) now i'd say that having no checkpoints is crazy XD and also there should've been a lil bit more variety to the enemies, the boss battle was good but sometimes he would go to my direction too fast that i can't run away in time lol, other than that good game and i managed to beat it :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I really wanted to add checkpoints but I couldnt think of a way of doing it that worked with my level system. I was thinking of doing a ranged enemy too but didnt have time :(. Thanks for playing!!!

Goblin Genocide Simulator! Pretty good game. Only small bug i got was that the key was visible on top of the book, not any thing major. For feedback it would be cool that the red enemies would chase you after attacking them once, cause right now you can attack them from far away and they just stay there taking damage. Good submission!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!! I agree now when im refactoring the game ill make sure the red goblins get angy too!

Simple, smooth learning experience and most importantly - a lot of potential! Bouncy walls, more enemies, puzzle-like rooms - that could really enchance the expierience :D
