Cool idea! I like the cranking mechanic to keep the light bright and the atmosphere is spooky. Good artwork and sound design/music and I like the little notes that give some context and narrative details.
I found the enemy creatures pretty hard to detect even with the lighter glow they had in the dark so I got reset a couple of times without realising why it happened. I did get better at predicting/remembering their movement after a few failed attempts and it definitely adds to the tension and urgency of recharging the torch. A short in-game tutorial would probably have helped me to know what to look out for on those first few attempts but I recognise it's only a 1 week project!
Would be interesting to see it further developed and the mechanics fleshed out outside of the game jam :)
Thanks, really appreciate it! We actually did plan to add a short tutorial, but we ran out of time. We also wanted to avoid making the enemies too obvious since keeping that uncertainty was part of the tension we were going for. The idea was that you’d constantly be spinning your character around to point your flashlight in different directions and keep an eye on your surroundings.
The audio design is really good here, and needing to crank the thingy to make the light come back on is a clever way to build suspense and use the theme. Could've benefitted from more checkpoints, and it would've been nice to see the gameplay be taught a bit more organically than just needing to look at the itch description every once in a while. Very cool atmosphere.
Thank you! We’re really glad you enjoyed the game overall. And we appreciate you taking the time to leave some feedback.
We may have accidentally become a little too good at our own game after testing the same level for so long. But hopefully that didn’t put you off.
This seems like a really interesting game but I'm having a hard time keeping the light on. No matter what I try and do it seems to go out really early. I didn't know there was a cranking mechanic until my third death, but when I spin the character, it only makes the cranking sound, and the light doesn't get brighter or stay at the same level of brightness. From what I played though it seems really cool and I really like the environment you have set up.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re glad you found the game interesting. The flashlight should definitely get brighter when you crank it, but only up to a point. It takes about 5 spins to noticeably charge it, so if that’s not happening, it sounds like you may have found a bug.

Overall, really well done!
Thanks so much for playing and leaving feedback!
Since it’s a game jam, we aimed for a shorter, more approachable experience so hopefully more people could reach the ending.
Thanks again, we’ll do our best to get those two bugs fixed before the deadline.
