The starting cutscene is really fun. I think it’s a fun idea that you state the context of the “VR” game to be the way to diagnose if we have a virus from a pandemic.
I appreciate a lot the setting to dark the background. It makes it safer from a photosensitive epilepsy perspective as well as motion sickness, because that pattern is dangerous. Although I think that we should get the same setting for the objects we jump on, and in a way, I mean, adjust the colors and choose what color scheme we want. because when it’s all dark, even though I can see the objects in black with a neon green outline, it feels a bit harder, I think. But it’s a good setting and it works well.
I had trouble figuring out how to progress in level 3 (?), where there seemed to be two possible ways to start. It was not very easy to progress past there, in fact I got stuck.
Another thing I didn’t enjoy so much was the voice of the narrator, tutorializing us through the game. It felt a bit like a robot-voice but with personality, like Portal, but I don’t think it added flavor to the game. I think it felt more like a direct inspiration that didn’t achieve something unique or new about it, so it ended up detracting from the immersion. I don’t know how I’d do it, perhaps with a normal voice or an actual TTS voice.
I love the potential of this having the possibility of becoming a VR game, although I’m not sure how that would work with the jumping. I’m never played a VR game where I had to jump.
I also thought it would be great if there were platforms in the middle in which I could make other platforms around me spin. So not only rotating at the start, but mid-climbing. I’m sure this happens later in the game, but if it doesn’t I think it should.
It’s a good concept but unfortunately too hard for me.
