Overall great entry. As much as I love a good fat font, it is super hard to read on the wheel, particularly with the text in grey against the muted wheel colors. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the upgrades, as it kept telling me there were no empty slots.

Anyway, love some of the overall design choices, colors and audio. The subtle wheel shake is a nice touch.

Thank you for playing and reviewing the game! Sorry that you couldn't figure out how to use the upgrades. In the Inventory menu, I tried to explain how to remove slices, but as you mentioned, the font is hard to read, and it is completely understandable that you couldn't figure it out. I will focus on making instructions more clear in my future games. Thank you!

Very nice and polished visuals and color! And the tone and mood is nice. Mostly missing sound effects/audio, especially for general UI. The person and chat bubble concept seemed kinda unfinished visually, and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do other than spin the wheel. It wasn't clear what the pieces mean or why you could choose to remove one.

Thank you for the feedback and playing the game! I was hoping to include more info in the newspaper at the start of the game but ran out of time to write the full explanation. I was hoping that it would be clear that the goal was to get as much money as possible, and upgrade the wheel by buying slices from the shop, but it is completely understandable for not getting that, as I didn't explain it anywhere. Once again, thanks for the feedback!

That makes sense, I like the concept—congrats again! :)

Well I might be the unluckiest person in the world X)

So a very small simple game ofcourse but the artwork is super clean and it's implemented very well too!

Good job, fun lil game!

This is a really well polished game, everything look great, sounds great and feel great I think what is lacking is some sort of hook or vibe or theme to draw me in.

Relying entirely on luck to play the game simply is not engaging, and within this jam specifically people seem tired of spinning wheels so that is likely why you feel like you haven't gotten that many reviews but 17 reviews is still quite amazing! I have friends who only have like 8 because their game is a download :(

Very cutesy game for a casino :p It looks very nice, and the audio design is on point! I just had a bit of trouble reading the font 😅 Great job!

Despite me having terrible luck and diving straight into negatives, the games is fun! The progression system is really neat and the polish is there! I really enjoyed the satisfying wheel sounds. Only issue for me was the text on the slices getting being barely legible when playing on the browser.

I like the graphics on this for sure, they look sharp. My only thing would be to add an option for the text on the slices to pop a little more they get lost at lower resolutions.

The game looks nice, the ui is clean and the sound design is satisfaying with a relaxind music, it took me a bit to get how/where to get upgrades and how to make them work, but I figured it out and the mechanics are fun ! The text on the slides is a bit hard to read though. This is a good game, good job !

I enjoyed this a lot. Getting the first few upgrades took a while but continuously upgrading the wheel was fun. I like that you can switch out pieces depending on how much money you have, adding a bit of strategy (e.g. at one point I made the mistake of putting on a multiplier when I was low on money and ended up multiplying my debt over and over). I feel the never negative upgrade that you get removes some of the risk, but it's nice that you can just turn it off, plus you're probably close to beating the game at that point anyway.

Visuals were really polished and the music was nice. As others have said though I found the font really difficult to read at times, especially on the slices, I also felt that switching the pieces took a bit more time than it needed to.

But this is a really well put together and fun game, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback and rating! I understand the time it took getting the first few upgrades. I thought that it improved the game's difficulty and enjoyment, but as I've been told, it'd be better to speed up the early game. Glad that you enjoyed the strategy element. I added the Never Negative upgrade to reduce the chance of losing so close to winning the game, but I understand how it may feel like reducing the risk. Also glad you enjoyed the visuals and music. I will take into account readability for all my future projects. Thanks!

A really cool game!! The visuals are incredible and the soundtrack makes it fun and relaxing to keep playing! I really like the countdown timer rather than an instant loss - it makes it feel a bit more forgiving, but also increases the stress when it starts ticking down, making it almost addictive!!

My main issue was the text - I personally found it quite hard to read. I agree with what others said, about maybe including more of an explanation of how you had to match the rarity levels of slices, although I worked that out fairly quickly, so for me it was a minor issue. The other minor feedback I have is that it would be nice if there were more upgrades early on - I had to play for a while before it felt like I was actually starting to get lots of upgrades and level up. Given this is a game jam, its often good to have a quick start to the game.

But genuinely, all of those are very minor things. This game is incredibly polished and super fun!

Thanks for the rating and review! I'm glad you liked the visuals and soundtrack, as I spent a lot of time working on the visuals. I'm glad you also enjoyed the stress of getting out of the negatives! As I've said before, I do wish I realized the text was hard to read sooner before I didn't have enough time to change all the assets to fix it, but I will keep readability in mind for my next projects. I did try to explain the matching of rarities in the things that the character says when you don't, but I did find it hard to convey it properly, and I probably should've explained it elsewhere like you said. Thanks for telling me about the lack of upgrades at the start. I liked it that way but it is probably a good idea for game jam games to have a quick start, and I will take that suggestion into my next game jam. Once again, thanks for the review!

It was a bit confusing why I'm unable to spin the wheel when I sold the slice but maybe im just a dummy. Also the beginning of the game was a bit slow-paced, since it's basically 50/50 it takes a lot of spins to get to the new slices. Visuals are top notch though. Game looks super polished visually, best one I've seen so far. The sfx are also really good

Developer

Thank you for playing the game and giving me feedback! I wish I was able to add a tutorial explaining the functionality of the game, and swapping out slices, but I will take this lesson into my next game and make sure the main loop is explained better. I personally thought that the difficulty at the beginning of the game was nice, but I will work on adjusting difficulty to be better in the future. I'm glad you found the visuals and sound effects good. Thank you!

A cute and cozy game with a lovely soundtrack

Thank you for the feedback!

I liked the little shake when you spin the wheel hehe. And I liked the text, its so bulky it took em a second to adjust to it, it has its own charm that will make me think of this game now haha! I also very quickly lost lool, will try again :P

Developer

Thanks for playing and telling me what you liked! I personally think that the text could've used a bit of work, but I'm glad that you thought it had a charm. Would love for you to try again!

The art and concept are amazing but could use a bit of UX improvement by making stuff more readable

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review! I wish I was able to fix the readability in time, but I will take this feedback for my next project.

I really like the UI, it's very clean and good looking. My only problem with it would be that the numbers are little too close colorwise to the wheel and don't read instantly. I had troubles reading the text in the thought bubble as well because it disappeared too quickly. Similarly with the newspaper cutscene before the game.

However, I do love the animation of removing the wheel slices. The music is very soothing and enjoyable and the sound effects are nice too. I managed to understand and get a hang out of the gameplay and different upgrades quite quickly.

Overall, the game is very clean and well-made. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I did hours before the deadline that the numbers were hard to read and I unfortunately couldn't fix it in time but I will take it into account during future projects. I'll make sure that any text disappearing will stay on screen for longer or have the option to stay until it can't any longer. Thank you for complimenting the animation of removing the wheel slices, I spent a while trying to make it feel good. Thank you also for the feedback on the music, I rushed to start and finish it on the last day so I'm glad that it still works with the game. Once again, thank you for rating and giving feedback!

I really like the visuals and the audio.  They're super clean.  I really like the idea of replacing slices from the wheel to hedge your bets, even though the ratio of "winning" and "losing" is still 1:1.  I think it's a creative spin on this whole wheel thing.  Hehheh.

The scale of the whole thing a little brutal, though.  As in, the amount of times I have to actually spin the wheel to make $100,000 feels a little bit insurmountable.

Overall this is a solidly put-together game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I will take this to heart in my next game jam. I would like to mention that I did end up reducing the amount of money needed to win to $10,000, although I may have forgotten to update everywhere where I said $100,000. Once again, thanks for the feedback!
