Nice game! I like the style and concept. Great submission :)
Cool game! The game does need a bit of polish but the concept is kinda interesting! It looks very old school and definitely is a good base game for a much bigger one! Overall, very good base game but definitely need to be improved further to be much more awesome! Great work!
Reminds me of those old RPG games I used to play as a kid!
Cool little game, around the fifth level it just started getting really repetitive, especially without any audio or visual feedback I lost interest in playing. Its a fun concept and I want to see where it goes in the future, especially once there is audio and more feedback on the enemies!
Also not 100% sure (and I probably missed this) But im not really sure what the spinning mechanic was in the game.
Good luck in the future!!
FINALLY made it thru. Once I figured out you can grind for levels, I was hooked and it was no issue. I really liked the maze level, that was my favorite section. Needs good SFX and music
I got to like the fifth stage, and I was surprised to see the game had some lore to it. The mechanic of the game is well done, the rpg style is nice. Unfortunately, having no audio or explanation of what was going on left me a bit underwhelmed by it, but it's cool idea nonetheless!
Fun little game, my only complaint is that the filtering is not nearest neighbour, so I couldn't enjoy the pixel art. Audio is also sorely missing, but having an rpg like game in this jam is nice!
Super cool, oddly addictive but it was at quite a nice scope and was not too big nor small, i didnt actually know what each enemy did different to one another but overall quite cool, levelling up was quite a cool addition too!!
Great experience. Game felt oddly addictive, and it kept going so nice scale to it as well. It makes the player feel good, as the leveling up makes you super strong. Amazing game.
Beat the tinkerer, so I feel accomplished. I feel like music and sounds would've helped out a lot here. The little notes were nice, and the art had a charming appeal. Combat was alright, like enemies could see through walls, but I could also hit them through walls, so i guess that balanced out. It's good level design though. I feel like you could spruce this up with little things like sounds and it'd add a lot.
I thought the level design was quite good for a game this simple. It's very open but I always felt like I was going the right way. I could easily see what was up ahead and it twists and turns in just the right way that I see what I'm looking for or where I've been in time to know where to go. Levelling mechanics in games of this scope usually feel redundant. But in this, particularly because levelling up heals you, felt critical and integrated with the game. The stats increase was just the required steady progression. I like that it made me fight more enemies to heal rather than running away from the fun.
That being said, the fighting mechanic is a bit simple, and it's hard to aim in the correct direction while moving, so most battles were fought one-on-one and along a cardinal direction. Because of this, there was little skill expression and it got repetitive quickly. That being said, I played it through to the end and enjoyed the tid-bits about the story.
I did feel the ending was quite anti-climatic, I wish you'd mixed it up a bit and made them tankier (it was over so quick), and done something to make them not just a normal enemy. Like make them slower but maybe unable to be stunned by attacks to make it feel more dangerous but still fair.
Some really good elements overall, and I hope you make more. But visuals, audio and theme integration weren't particularly strong so that will harm the score a bit. Thanks for making this game!
