I like art style of game, it has unique style. Did you draw it by yourself?

Exploration is interesting, I was able to understand how to move and interact.

I am not sure about type of game, Is It some style of visual novel?

For sure game has potential with this kind of art.

Congratulations on your submission!

Positives

  • The art was fantastic It is clear you have a lot of skill.
  • Really liked the world as well. seemed 3D with 2D cutouts
  • The animations were really nice too. (I am assuming you are going the 3D route so the shadows and effects can have more depth? quite interesting)
  • It seems you have spent quite a lot of time in building the world as evident form the interactible paintings.

There is not much I have to say in terms of improvement. I am not very confident in the critiques I am giving here because it’s a very short experience.

  • I did not really feel like reading any of the paintings because it was all just names and achievements. Got kind of boring and I eventually stopped interacting. Maybe I needed more investment into the game before I start reading it. (I generally love point and click and try to interact with everything.)

  • Also I was itching to do something, like use a spell, That happened but only at the very end. I don’t think you should make reaching the library need a ladder, because that’s just delaying the moment we want as players, and not in the most fun way. But again I am merely judging this in the context of it being a really short experience. My thoughts would definitely change if this tied in with something else down the line.

  • Space did not forward dialogue, only enter did. (Could be intentional design, I don’t know)

The dialogues seemed fine but there was not a lot of it yet. Seems the master hates his student which is a nice source of potential conflict of the world. Promising in just 2-3 lines.

Good Job!

Looking forward to what you do with it. The project definitely has a lot of potential. I can see you finishing parts of it and some of your vision for it.

Really great art, I like the effects for the lighting and magic a lot also. So far not a lot to play but appreciate what you have here so far. Interact text was small and a little hard to read. I'm interested to see where you go with this game, good job.

The game is still too empty to give an in-depth critique, but I would say that the art seems promising. I was a bit perplexed by the AIbackground  at some point, which really contrasted with the rest, but I suppose it is a placeholder.

Also I think in most games with a VisualNovel-like interface, people are used to click anywhere on the screen or press enter to continue dialogs, I don't think there need to be a "continue" button :)

As others have said, cool art. I think the characters need to stick out a bit more against the background, even just making them slightly brighter might help. I missed the tutorial text telling me how to use magic so I just had to spam buttons until I found the right one. The sound affects are a bit loud compared to the music. Other than that the game just needs more stuff.

I appreciate the feedback. The sticking out of the characters will be addressed in the next update :D

Really nice art!

And the lights and shadows they cast look great too!

I would try to add a load screen so that it's not shown when the character spawns and lands, and also, I think that the spiderweb door is kinda bugged (when burning the spiderweb, the "you can not enter the door as it's blocked with a spiderweb" dialog still shows up).

Thank you for the feedback. Web bug will be addressed in the next update.

Stunning visuals!

The fist things that strike me as needing some improvements are:

  • The master needs to pop out a bit, it blends too much with the environment, mby a different outline, a light behind, or mby his staff is glowing. Something to make his stand out.
  • Force the camera to not show the black empty space. I guess you could limit to move only to a certain threshold.

Well done!

Appreciate the feedback. Popping of the master will be addressed in the next update. He shall be properly popping...out that is.
