A level editor??? Okay
The gameplay progression is nice. Simple at the start, but rises up in difficulty along the way. Also introduces mechanics neatly. And it's impressive how there are so many different AI movement here. Really makes thing interesting and more complex.
Maybe a speed up button would be nice to have. I can really feel how slow the game is during the level where you introduce mailmen that won't carry more than their coworkers.
Another feature I would like to be added is a restart level button. I don't really like having to manually destroy all paths if I made a huge mistake.
Theme wise, I think it has some correlation to it. Depending on how you set up your paths, it can lead to different results. Combining that with how each mailmen interact with each other and all the timing that you need to do, and you have a small chain reaction.
I like the aesthetic of the game. Pretty simple and clean.
The audio is pretty nice. Relaxing music that accompanies relaxing gameplay. SFX are pretty good as well.
Very well polished game, great art and music. SFX is a bit jarring and a volume slider would be nice but still great! I would love to see some different outfits for each worker type, its a bit difficult to keep track who is who
Thanks for the feedback!
Wow! So much content, super varied, super interesting puzzle solving, and your own engine. Super impressed. Wasn't expecting diagonal paths either, which made everything (including your animation needs) higher. Loved this one. Even the chiptune bossa nova was very charming.
My one nitpick ( so small) is that I didn't notice that you had a limited number of paths until maybe 4 or 5 levels in, so when I tried to make a new path with 0 left, I got confused and thought the game was bugging. Some kind of "no you can't do that" feedback to the player when they try would be the best way to get that across imo!
Great point, thanks for the feedback!
I guess You made the level editor first and then You were able to easily pump out so many levels yourself, because wow! For a game jam this is a pretty long game. And a good one at that. I really can't think of many downsides, other than as someone else said, make the different types of meilmen differ in appearance.
Great job on all fronts! I really enjoyed this!
Yes, that's completely true... To be honest, I didn't start building the levels until less than 12 hours remaining lol
Thank you!
This is very clever puzzle designs! I think it's the one of the most well-designed out of here! The music is pleasing to listen, and that comes from a person who doesn't really like bg music.
The types of mailmen are variative, though they all look the same. Perhaps add some visual clues to each of them? E.g left hand being bolder of left-handed or make cowards hold hands in shyness?
Very satisfying game! You did well!
Yeah you're totally right, differences between them beyond just hovering would be a nice QoL improvement.
Thanks for playing!
I liked the art and audio. The puzzles were clever. I don't really get when do the mailmen turn right or left.
It depends on the type of mailman which you can tell by hovering over them. A visual cue would've been nice, but I just didn't get to it.
Thanks for playing!
Yes!! Finished all the levels. :) Very satisfying puzzle game.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fun puzzle with unexpected timing complexity. i have to delay some movement to make sure they intersect in a node. clever puzzle design and difficulty curves, including the tutorial which is paved nicely. it’s easy to connect the dots afterward wink. and it comes with level editor! wow!
The editor was necessary to actually see if the concept would even work lol. Thank you!
Great game! The rules are easy to understand, but you really got a lot of mileage out of them; the variety of puzzles is really impressive. Some of them really had me sitting and scratching my head for a while, and for many of those, there was a really nice "a-ha" moment when figuring out what I was meant to do. Art, music, and sound all complement each other well; the little mailpeople are so cute!
Really just a great game all-around, and super impressive to have done it all from scratch in your own engine, too. Great work!
Thank you!
Daaaayumn! This is top notch work! Figuring out those puzzles would've taken me a week out of the 72h. Hats off to you, sir/mam!
Whenever I got an idea for a puzzle I made sure to keep track of it, but the actual creation of the puzzles was done in a very late/early morning haze lol. Thank you!
Very iconic entry. Not much to criticise, except that I had a few minor hangups, such as when one of the mailmen was hidden behind the mailbox and I didn't see him. Also, the music is super chill.
Ah yeah that makes sense. I also had that problem a few times where two guys could cover each other if they moved the same path but I didn't have time to fix. Thanks for playing!
pretty fun and very well executed
This is a gem of a little game. And there's even a level editor?! Kudos! One feedback I have is while you do show that there is a limited number of paths that you can make in a level, it took me several failed attempts to see it. I thought the game was bugged before I saw the label on the top right.
Oh that's a good point, thanks for the feedback!
The idea of the game as well as it's execution were very well done. It is a really cool game, the small details, such as hovering over a post to guide the player on rotation, were very useful. The art and the design of the puzzles were excellent too. Well done!
Thank you!
This was really fun, well done! I'd play this on mobile
Having the different mailman classes was a really cool mechanic. Would love to see distinct sprites for each class (if that makes sense?). Also loved the pixel art and music.
Yep that makes sense! Unique sprites/names and maybe some personalities was part of the original idea, but I was short on time by the end. Thank you!
I really like how the level design teaches the mechanics so naturally!
Thank you! I'm glad it worked out.
I loved it! So much charm, and well designed puzzles! I kept imagining they were on platforms high up in the sky, would've loved a cozy environment for them, but that'd take time to create of course. The soundtrack was excellent. I'm not one for puzzle games usually, but this one I actually saw through to the end
Thank you! I'm glad to hear the puzzles turned out well. If I had more time, I would've added some clouds moving across the background or maybe a gradient going down or something. I also wanted to add little cutesy voices for them, but I had other priorities lol
Couldn't hear the audio? Nice concept!
That's weird, what browser were you on? Did you hear nothing or was it a balancing issue? I made this using my own engine so I want to make sure it doesn't have a bug. Thanks for the feedback!
I was playing in the browser and I heard nothing.
