Obviously I had to play until I got the highscore xD. Pretty good arcade game, the car controlls felt really smooth to play with. Solid submission.

Great start for a game! The vehicle physics feel really good, and using stealth in a car game is a very original twist. To push it even further, it would be awesome to add more life to the city — pedestrians, some traffic, and maybe even destructible props to make the environment feel more dynamic and alive.

About the circle around the car, I also assumed it was noise or attention, but the cops still spotted me even when it was low haha. Anyway, well done on getting progression and a leaderboard in there — it’s already a solid foundation for what could become a really great game!

Nice vehicle physics, and great use of the theme - I like the sneakiness in a car game, that's unusual.  I could see a future version of this game where you can hide from the cops by parking in a dark street, for example.

I never quite figured out what the circle around the car was, I assume it was noise or attention? It didn't seem to stop the cops from noticing me, haha.

Great job getting progression and a leaderboard in there too!

I love that you included progression and a leaderboard. Great touch.

Fantastic work! It feels like you used the Godot Vehicle nodes. I tried them out on mine but it didn't feel right - they feel perfect on yours. Love the upgrades but wish they were a bit more affordable for the jam, but was nice progression if you were doing this for say a Steam game. Chase mechanic and NPC AI were great. Police scanner was a godsend :D

Really nice job!

Thank you so much! Fun fact, it's actually not the built-in vehicle nodes! The car is a RigidBody3D with a custom raycast setup: four suspension rays (one per corner) applying spring + damper forces, with drive, steering, and grip all applied as forces at the contact points. Grip is basically "cancel a slice of the sideways velocity every physics tick," which is where the planted arcade feel comes from — I found it way more tunable than VehicleBody3D. All the handling numbers live in one stats resource, which is also how the upgrades work: parts just modify a runtime copy of the stats.

And totally fair on upgrade prices.I flattened everything to single-shot buys for the jam, but I should have tuned the costs down too. If I take this further after judging (a Steam-shaped version is tempting...), that's first on the list.

The police scanner is definitely a must-have lol. Thank you so much for checking out my game!

Awesome! After messing with Vehicle Body I thought about going ray cast route, but had already wasted enough time. You did an excellent job putting that all together. And all the upgrades felt really good. You could feel each one.

Fun game, and I loved the car mechanics. It would be really cool if the environment were a bit more interactive (e.g., light poles falling when you crash into them, or explosions during car crashes). Overall i enjoyed the game - good work!

Developer

That would be really nice! Unfortunately I felt like getting the driving right and focusing on the AI was more important and I definitely crunched as much as I could in just 7 days!

If I continue developing this, interactive environment is 1000% on the list! Thanks for checking it out :)

GTA taught me to collect glowing things without asking questions, so I did))) The police definitely deserve a raise they caught me almost immediately. Cool idea!

Developer(+1)

Police awareness was one of the things that I spent the most time tuning and still needs tuning! I went back and forth on how their FOV and detection was setup a million times

Thank you for checking it out!

This is a really cool game, but the inverted camera got me on the first few attempts. I ended up defaulting to just orienting to where I like it, then not touching the camera at all. It does play a bit laggy despite there not being a lot of visible mesh in the game, or maybe Im imagining it. I did end up getting caught every time haha, is there a trick to avoiding cops while also being fast, or do you have to just be very very slow and methodical?

Developer

Interesting on the performance issues - it runs without a hitch on both my mac and windows devices, but I certainly did not have time for profiling and tuning.

Totally heard on the inverted camera. In the future, that would be a setting to toggle.

There's no real secret to not getting caught haha, unlock more upgrades to increase your speed, detection cooldown, etc. The most useful upgrade is the police scanner probably that shows even inactive police on the map!

Thank you so much for taking the time!

Really amazing game! For a game jam, I would have loved a flatter progression curve to test more of your features. But great job!

Developer(+1)

Totally get that! I did try to flatten it out some, for example the vehicle upgrades are all single shot instead of having them tiered like I would do for a real roguelike, but I suppose I could have tuned a bit to make upgrades a little bit easier for the gamejam demo. Thank you for trying it out!

Loved the driving! Very smooth with it. Hitting the handbreak felt good too when banking on some of the turns! Awesome job!

Developer

Thank you so much for giving it a play through! Means the absolute world!

Smooth smooth driving. I could play that all night.

Developer

That means the world! Thank you!

It took some getting used to, but this is genuinely  fun

Developer

Thank you so much!! I would love to fine tune it after judging is done!

nice!! i like car games!! the chasing is good!! i  will play to see how the shop it

 is working also

Developer

Thank you so much for trying it out, it means more than you know! This is my first game I have ever finished and you are my first ever play tester that isn't a friend!
I would love to further refine some aspects of the physics to make the driving and collision more realistic. I would love the blend of low poly visuals but realistic physics, I think it could be pretty fun. Unfortunately with the 7 day time crunch I was obviously limited on what I could get done!
