Incredible entry. Amazing atmosphere, music, and visuals.

This was a fun game. Very atmospheric and genuinely jump scared me a couple of times.

ghost woman was included. (also wow you guys submitted that by the skin of your teeth huh)

this was a really cool puzzle game, and the focus on the combat was a neat surprise. having to spam the recharge skill was a bit exhausting (4 NRG probably would've been preferable, with maybe the earlier enemies doing a bit more damage), but besides that the flow of the skills was pretty interesting. the fact that it's an hour is also kind of crazy, i think i had to double check my save time after reading that off. huge props there.

the atmosphere is pretty stunning too, with all the fog and stuff really selling the emptiness of it all. the song at the climbing area was surprisingly good as well. that song get me recharging my saw gun while crying about my wife for two turns! with that said, i unfortunately found those bigger maps confusing, with the next objective not being entirely clear. the switch that activates a certain station comes to mind, and a few of that area's puzzles in general, but those were probably my fault honestly. i also wish the earlier game spooks were maintained throughout the rest of the game (aforementioned ghost woman popping up for a few frames comes to mind, that one was really good), but the brief horror moments are still cool.

something that did stump me was the keypad code inscribed on the tileset, as the parallax makes it pretty easy to miss in that room. i assumed that i accidentally broke something, and reloaded that section a few times before finally catching it. a more clear hint could probably be included there, as it's a pretty believable part of the game to have a glitch in it, if you get what i mean.

anyways, sweet game. curious to see how you guys top it next time. that man definitely deserves a vacation with the way he was moving down there. what a champ.

good game

This game is like if Dead Space had a baby with OFF, and I find that to be extremely appealing. I can tell there's a ton of love in this project- charming artwork, great soundtrack, and lots of cool mechanics to boot. Climbing was cool (even if it didn't change much gameplay wise) and I loved all the unique sprites the enemies had. The lines at the end of the third area were super awesome.

I couldn't help but find myself begging and praying for more party members as I kept playing the game. Not necessarily because it was too hard- but more so just to have new characters to experience the world with, and have banter with our protagonist.

The setting is easily this game's strongest aspect. While very transformative from a general 'underground' theme, it's very striking and I enjoyed it greatly.

My only criticisms- combat became a bit simple and repetitive after a while (which is better than it being broken), and I got stuck on the second code as well.

Fantastic work!

thank you so much for playing! Yes those were i'd say the main two inspirations! especially for the main character. thank you again!

well the game was good, very lackluster on content but thats to be expected on a jam game, combat on the very first half was kind of annoying because you'd be sharing hits w the enemy back and forth, it wasnt till the middle/late of the game i finally got the goodies for the cryless thingies (which i infact never ended up using), but being healed up after a battle was very refreshing and a fair addition.

for the rest of the game, a lot of areas (like the wall crawl stuff) werent correctly signalized or overall just didnt have much idea what to do there (in fact, i had to reach out to you to finally get over that part, it doesnt add that im a bit stupid and didnt think of facing it and pressing enter at the same time).

maybe some small text saying "this wall looks broken off, i could probably climb it."

not a lot of variation on environments (to be expected, hence it being a jam so its completely justified) music banger, a bit repetitive but good industrial-ish music but yeah i think its a pretty cool concept for a game and its deffo something very nice you and your team have crafted, so congrats!!!!!!!!!

on a side note i really liked the build up to the game, very little games do this, but what i'd recommend is building a more oppresive burnt down environment, but what you did rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

game is a 8 as of we speak for me now.

as i said on the game page, was a cool short experience, one than another no-colision place but its not a big problem,i didnt found bugs in the time i played and i really like the simple artstyle it has a vibe to imscared, overrall its a cool game, and tbh i kinda wished for a bit more of difficulty n got kinda lost in some puzzles but still nice game :]

Awesome game! Was really digging the vibe and environment. I'd like to head canon that this guy worked for Aperture labs and left bc he wanted a less stressful job and wound up here.

Hi, enjoying your game so far, but I feel like I'm stuck. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't post pictures, but I just reached the second door with a code. I explored a bit past that, killing an enemy, but it doesn't seem like there's anywhere else to explore or find the code for the second door. Not sure how to do private messages on itchio, but would love a hint on what to do next!

Had the same issue for a while lol, there is a code on the map just below the part where you go up the stairs after killing the enemy.

Developer(+1)

Hello! Thank you so much for playing! Like Alz said, the code is in the area where you killed that enemy. You just have to look into it a bit, it's sort of hidden in plain sight!

Holy smokes the soundtrack did not need to be so good. The whole design of everything really immerses you into the experience, real shame it ended up so short! I personally also really liked the character interactions, not sure why but they have a certain feel to them...

thanks for the kind words !

Loved it! The artstyle is great, and the combat system progression felt great to have (oh thank the lord, something to use the TP on!!!!). The first battle theme is an absolute banger.

Developer(+1)

thank you :)
