driving was fun
Man those Robots have aimbot in their sights hahaha. Driving controlls felt good, I wished there would've been a little bit more diversity on the terrain, would make driving long distances more fun. Good Work!
The way the car bounces after hitting walls or racing on the mountain feels so satisfying. I think it would be fun to have a rough terrain and enemy cars (perhaps sent by the giant robot) with the same physics trying to intercept the player car. :D
Enemy vehicles chasing, drones flying above so you'd need to hide under the raised roads, the feature list got pruned hard halfway through!
A very interesting concept, with a mad-max apocalypse meets sci-fi worked much better than I would have expected. I was a little lost on where to head and was following some poles for a while without reaching anywhere, but I think a sparse land would work very well for the idea you're going for. Perhaps some kind of direction indicator would work well for this.
The controls are generally good, although there's a bit of an odd switch between forwards and backwards that launched me backwards when trying to slow down and stop.
Overall, a good start and a great atmosphere!
When things 'unlock', there'll be an update for personal "I needed to get this done" with a proper compass to show where to head next/route back to base. I also randomised the starting position but I think I'd lock it in place and use more terrain to give hints on where to go too.
I loved the ref to Love Death and Robots ^^ The game is super original with a great atmosphere :) I didn't fully understood how I can hide from the robots if the fuel is just on front of them, but it was fun, nice work :)
Cool game - i really loved the way the car felt. For the purpose of the jam, i think it would be a bit better if you used more Synty assets. Good job!
It was all synty assets! (the pylons were kitbashed heavily from apoc1, but everything else was 100% synty!)
ohh sorry i didn’t recognize them at first my bad - great job with the game!
Fun game! I managed to grab two fuel barrels before the giant robot finally remembered it had perfect aim)))
Controls feel great. I love the spectacle of it too! Nicely done.
Nice work on the car physics, and the 'Love, Death, Godot' splash screen is hilarious, haha. You were clearly going for the deserted wasteland but having the fuel depot so far away made it unclear whether that's even where I was supposed to be going. Maybe some obstacles along the way to smash into so driving across the wasteland is a bit more fun?
Seeing those robots in the distance with the red eyes was a super cool moment though, well done!
Cheers! yeah, I had plans for SOOO much extra stuff. Some plants to break things up on the long drive, some enemies to dodge whilst going between the robots, using the APOC1 road bridges to hide under so the drones couldn't see you. Gamejam time flies by so fast. Oh, the car physics is just the rolling ball technique. got used to using it in Godot as it's so easy to get up and running and feels fun.
Best MMO I played this year. Although I have played 0 MMO in my life. Nice game there. Given more time it will be fun to explore this apocalyptic giant mecha world. We have fun together!
Enjoyed my time drifting in the open and climbing the mountains. This might make some great open world MMO one day. Keep up
i like the atmosphere!!
Nice Theme!
Awesome! This came a long way from 0.001%! Driving feels great, particularly launching off the dunes. The 2 Giant guys took turns zapping me, so didn't get much farther than that. The sound of the rays didn't seem to be working, just some pops and static. Great job!
