Could use some defined end-goals to work towards, but even in the arcade-y survival type setup it's got right now, it's a fun time.

This game was pretty fun spin on the concept. I feel like if the dots were replaced with arrows either telling you a resource is going up or down would make the choices a bit more fair as it was hard to tell what I was going to lose and gain sometimes. Overall I thought it was pretty fun!

That's a pretty popular request, and I think I might add it as an unlockable upgrade in the next build :)

This was my first time playing this genre and I found it really interesting! I was a bit confused about what to do at the start, though. It would be great to have a small tutorial at the beginning to help new players get started.

Developer

Thank you! The first swaying drunken sailor is supposed to be the hint on what to do (and the first mate's follow up explanation is a microtutorial), but I'll try to expand on that in the next version!

15 weeks :-)  The game is short but fun. For a small mobile game it feels complete and teases the player to try another run. Well done.

The candle is a side effect when you die, as far as I saw it, but maybe some cards I haven't seen show candles and spin story around candles?

sometimes it was hard to swipe. Love the ambience

The idea is really cool! The inspiration from Reigns was executed really well, and all the events that lead to your decisions are a lot of fun. Great job on the project!

Pretty interesting game. Although this doesn't use the themed item as a core mechanic (just like shown at the end), I thought it was pretty interesting :D. I couldn't really beat it, but I thought that it was kinda fun and definitely some nice gameplay mechanics. Great job!

Given that almost a third of the game's content is about death scenes, one could argue that dying -is- a core mechanic :) thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

nono, I meant like the use of the themed item lol, the mechanics and direction were great, I just meant use of the themed item (mb I worded it kind of weird)

This was interesting, fun and silly. I just found it a little hard guessing if a card was going to make the the gauges go up or down and some were silly in a fun way and some were silly in a I don't get how this affects anything way like the parrot "are you the devil" response moving all the bars a bit.
Games don't have to be fair, but they should feel fair for the player and this one felt just a tiny shy.
Great job though it was fun!

Developer

Yes, that's intentional. The gauges only show the approximate amount of the change, but not the direction - sometimes you can derive it from the context, but other times, you just have to trust your piratey luck and swipe! Worst case, you'll find out a new way to die :)

(The "are you the Devil?" bit is an easter egg reference to the recurring catchphrase from the Reigns series that inspired this game)
