Really interesting idea, took me a few tries to win once. The art is beautiful and the concept is really unique.

Ah so much to implement and so little time to do so! I see the vision the game has, but the little qol stuff that were missing definitely affected my experience of the game. I'd love to come back after the voting period to see where you guys take it from here, if you decide to keep working on it! Missing qol aside, I love the art and the actual game mechanics! It reminds me of Deltarune ch2's rolux fight, if you know what I'm talking about :P

Amazing art, however i wish I knew how much dynamite I had found! Also don't be afraid to slow the tutorial text down, maybe make it so when I click it finishes printing out and when I click again it goes next?

Fun regardless and very pretty!

Great art!

I was a bit confused at first since the tutorial is a little rushed, but once I learned how to play properly it became a lot more fun. Love the art style!

Well done! Audio and art are perfect! I would suggest updating the z-index of the building so they don't overllap the previous ones. Great submission! Congrats to the team

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it :D

For buildings to not overlap, just changing z-index wouldn’t fix problem, since entire building is one sprite. For example, if building exists at 2 different y coordinates and is not vertical, sprite in middle of those 2 would need to have z-index between those 2 y levels. Would have to split all building sprites into pieces at different y levels and make some changes in a way houses are generated for it to properly work.

That was planned, but, sadly, didn’t get time to implement.

The most unholy of evils is not something we would want in our back yard, so that is why you always call before you dig.

Developer

That's the next game, the utilities guy comes out with a dowsing rod and plants little flags whenever he detects an especially evil patch of soil. 😂

Ahhh so close... I found 2 dynamites. Interesting idea. Pity I couldn't save them. Great work!

The art is very nice! I do wish I could skip ahead in dialogue from time to time, especially for the tutorial (I don't want to skip the whole tutorial but it does do its text crawl kinda slow for me). Loading times were kinda long but it's understandable when the art has such detail.

Nice concept. You managed to fit in all the Wildcards well. The animated intros a very nice touch.

Developer

Thanks I always push my team to do all the wildcards, think outside the box with strange constraints.

Sad that it's so short. On my real first attempt I placed a building on fog and it had the last dynamite, so I won confused on if I found the monster and died or if i just won out of nowhere XD. Really loved the concept and style, seriously, great job

Developer

you win by collecting 3 of 5 possible dynamites on the map, if the monster finds (3) first, they win. you should check out the defeat cutscene too. glad you enjoyed the game!

I really loved the game, it reminders me of some board games out there, but its really interesting. I love the comic style animation intro

Developer

thanks I am glad you enjoyed the game, ya our artist enjoyed the comic style animations.

Dragging and dropping buildings onto a map is one of those things I could do all day. Cool entry!

Developer

I could drag and drop stamps all day! <3

Fun game! Some more audio or visual feedback when interacting would be nice, but that's just a detail. The game in itself is great!

Submitted(+1)

Loved it!

Submitted(+3)

the art and animations are really cool! i think i lost the first time and then i won.

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed the boardgame style approach here! great art.

Love this game! The music, art, and gameplay are all fantastic! I only wish the tutorial were a tad slower. Absolutely in love with the intro cutscene and the outro panels

Submitted(+1)

Loved the theming of the game, tutorial was a little fast, and I think there could be some better indicators of where the creature is spreading. Loved the game overall though, feels like it has a lot more depth than I could really access when I played.

Love the animations and the cutscenes—everything looks extremely polished. The art is fantastic, and the gameplay mechanics work really well too. Excellent work!

Developer(+1)
