If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
The developer wants to "just ship" the code and so the bugs exist.

Any additional information for voters?
try at least 2 playthroughs, there are easter eggs in starting levels. Also, i intended to add more π–»ΜΆπ—ŽΜΆπ—€ΜΆπ—ŒΜΆ features but i only had around 30 hours.

I really liked this! Aren't all bugs just unintentional features!?

Developer

indeed

Really fun idea! Kinda reminds me of a game my friend and I made long ago called PLACEHOLDER NAME, where  you played through a platformer and had to deal with various bugs/missing features πŸ˜‚

I really like the concept and I definitely think there's so much that could be done with it! I also think it's one of the best modifier uses I've seen so far this jam!

Aside from that, it's just a very polished-feeling platformer. I liked the tight controls and the general aesthetic.

Overall really cool! Thanks for submitting!

Developer

thanks for playing and hosting man!

Great idea!  Fun platformer.  Well done!

Developer

Thanks!!

I admit I'm not a big player of platformers, but this felt REALLY polished movement wise, maybe too good for this jam.

But I love the overall concept and I found the new game + really neat! And dear god do I empathize with the sentiment of "works on my machine" from both sides of the conversation 😭😭

A shame you only had 30 hours to work on this but it was well done. Good job!

haha glad you liked it!

I'd love to see more done with this concept, you should definitely update it in the future

Developer

Yes I will update it for sure in some point in the future!

This is a really well made and polished game! I played through the game a few times and I think I found all of the easter eggs, though I had this feeling that there must be more to the game. It almost makes me wish the terminal bug tracker system was a real thing, it looks like it would be fun to use. Also, the game has some really great sound effects

Developer

Thank you, I feel great that you enjoyed it!

Simple, smooth and well polished!

It felt too short! I understood you wanted to make more features, but the New Game + had me, so I kept trying to find more easter eggs.

Really nice job!

Developer

Thank you, I feel great that you enjoyed it.

I loved the twist and the flow of the game, the way the gameplay reveals itself was very cool. And then it's just so so COHERENT. Very simple and clean, very concise in its idea and how it communicates it through gameplay (and the debug screen, of course). Same with visuals, simple and clean and works 100%.

thanks, i really appreciate the review!

It felt like there was more, so I kept tying to see if I had to complete the levels in a specific way to unlock the next set of levels. But I believe there weren't more level, or I'm just bad.

I did like the visuals, they were simple but felt polished, which is important.

Good job for the time you had!

Developer

there actually was meant to be more when I started developing it so I get why it felt that way, happy that you enjoyed it!

Feels way too short for me to have any real opinion about this game πŸ˜•

Though you said you only had 30 hours to make this game, and I assume that includes time for sleeping, eating, and doing everything else, so yeah it's understandable.

Also there's this really cool "feature" I found in your game that I'm not sure if you actually intended it. You can jump when hugging into walls, which means that you don't even need the extra "feature" to reach the secret checkpoint in level 2, 3, and 4.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

i know about it feeling short i personally had planned at least 4 more "features" like the jump but had to cut it short.

Also about the wall hugging "feature", it was definitely not intended, but it is here to stay for the jam might make changes at a later point of time.

Thanks for reviewing and giving your feedback!
