If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
There's shipping and theres ship and ing and then you also ship it i guess.
Any additional information for voters?
The title and the cover art are just a joke. The game itself is completely SFW and not lewd at all I promise π€

I just watched my friend playing my game, and
bruh I only just realized that I didn't set up the export options properly for my web build and the fullscreen button doesn't actually expand the game screen to full screen π―
and also he just straight up missed the most important tutorial mural (along with all the other murals) so I guess I'll just put it in the game description before I actually make a better tutorial
This was so good! Was not expecting the fakeout. Loved the art, the different areas, and the cast of characters (including the possibly familiar F. Flamingo! π€)
Sailing about was lovely. I got a bit confused about how to pick up items (not being able to take more than 1 at at time!) but eventually figured it out! Hopefully in the ending the two of them will finally get the happy ending they deserve. β€
Really great work!
So my first thought was that "I gonna be misinterpreting the 'ship' as 'shipping' and making a dating simπ" but then my second thought was "wait I don't even play dating sims π©"
So yeah, I just happened to also implement the modifier from last year (and did it way better than my last entry π₯΄)
I really enjoyed this game. Itβs an amazing example of sbiggy goodness, incredibly well-polished, with an incredibly creative interpretation of the jam theme. Bravo green orb.
I feel like I have some kind of perfectionism that forces me to make a feature look good enough before moving to the next one.
This also means that I often end up messing up my own schedule and fail to finish my game in time during like... most of the jams I participated.
Thankfully, I actually remembered that I suck at following a schedule and made sure to only do the bare minimum amount of features this time.
(Still couldn't implement most of the dialogues in time and had to do that for another day after the submission due, though.)
I know that feeling all too well π
Perhaps the most marginal level of control over your character ever implemented in a game. This is one of my favorite entries, pure "dev having fun putting weird stuff everywhere" vibes. Also the aggressive doppler effect was hilarious
The doppler effect was actually a Unity built-in feature I discovered by accident. I was just messing with the audio source component to make the sound directional, and whatever I did also added the doppler effect. I agree that it was super funny to hear distorted music when you are actively being thrown around, so I decided to just keep it.
Worst experience of my life, 10/10.
A fun implementation of the term "ship" in multiple ways!
This is a very SBIG game from the concept to the execution! Always fun to see references to previous SBIG entries, but this actually implemented some of the mechanics of those games too which was really cool!
The physics were janky and the boat bumped off everything imaginable, which is perfectly fitting for SBIG, but I managed to get through to the (non-existant) ending!
The added murals I think were definitely needed, my alternate suggestion would just be to have the controls on the side of the screen at all times, though imo that can be distracting (and I say that as someone who did such an implementation in his game).
I agree with the other comments saying the cannon enemies might be a little too accurate, but these things are hard to balance.
All the visuals and sounds in this game are great too btw, and love all the little dialogues, and the cover art is amazing. I could definitely see the mechanics of this being spun further with more characters.
Good job!
Thanks, Sigma π
Best dating sim ever. I loved the part where Kevin sent Bruce his feet pics. That was truly shocking. Completed the game too, 11/10, masterpiece
EDIT: I just realized you can switch characters
I have not succeeded in shipping but I had a lot of fun steering the boat. Not succeeded as in I was mostly sent flying by cannonballs, which, judging from other commeners, is simply a skill issue xD Very fun gameplay
Honestly I definitely should've made the levels a lot bigger.
The levels in their current state are way too tight and this makes it way too likely to bump into things and start spinningπ«¨π«
its not even bumping, I just had mroe than one (!) experience of being thrown into the air by a cannonball and then hit in the air by another, so maybe it's just a bit dense on that front, when you run fast is ok but it can pile on xD
Okay, I was not expecting that- not spoiling it for those who haven't played it yet. Loved the twist, though! I didn't get very far, but the style and execution is quintessential SBIG.
I always forgot that most people won't be playing the same levels over and over again and becoming stupidly good at beating them like how I playtested it π€
A small tip for you and everyone who has difficulties beating my game: flying using ramps is actually an intended game mechanic and not cheesing at all βοΈ! And in the newest web version I actually adjusted some values to make ramp jumping much easier while made flying for eternity basically impossible.
This game is very good! I'm sure the more characters there are, the crazier the combos between them will be! It feels a lot like Mario Kart Double Dash! :)
Double Dash is literally my inspiration for this game! except that I have never played or actually watched someone playing Double Dash so I just imagined what it'll be like.
Cool game, I liked the shipping part, I only figured out you could switch characters after already shipping everything. The aim on everything in there is too good though, I was getting shot all the time
Yeah I might have made the homing of cannon balls a bit too strong (yes they home because if they don't it's just too easy to dodge.)
Also I added some murals in the newer version. Hopefully it'll be clearer on how to play the game.
